Thanks for the friend request, although I am a bit confused as to why you requested it. I mean, if you have read any of my comments, you would see that while I am a spiritual man, I do not support Christianity as a religion. I do however support parts of it and integrate those parts into my personal philosophy. But whatever, I love everyone and I accept your offer of friendship. Beware though, that I can be highly combative when it comes to religious dogma. Peace doc
I'm trying to work out why your camera man (or camera cat!) decided to interrupt your video, I'm assessing whether the action was wrong or right, depending on whether or not your cat was assessing if the camera angle was wrong or right, which in itself could of been wrong or right because of it's bad timing! The depressing thing is, I'm not 100% sure whether I'm wrong or right about this... because you can never be 100% sure about anything! Although I'm not 100% sure about that...
Hehe. Now we have the "Cat Command". Does the cat checking out the camera make it interesting or does the cat check out the camera because of it's interesting-ness.
@OneLifeFree God's existence is an assumption of the argument. All arguments must start with some assumptions ... just as you apparently assume God's non-existence. Also most of the"proofs" against the existence of God that I've run across are just as short-sighted as those that treat the existence of God as some kind of objective fact.
Call me agnostic if you want, but one can't definitively disprove (or prove) the existence of God ... especially based solely on objective data or senses.
apologies for my short consdensed posts,,glad you can get the drift ,,I am studying tons of VALUABLE books (tons of junk out there),,at Baptist Seminary, Tulane U..amazing how one book opens another,,and then connections gather,,,Nietzsche has *impregnated* my mind,,along with Jung, Bushnell, and highly important study of church history (UNREAL the hidden filth).
Glad to know you are a man with a open mind, vs a *christian* with a closed mind (many there are).
agree in part,,but how can you reconcile the book of Job with your definition?
IOW God is also a mystery, man can only know a tiny part of this mystery while on earth, a few like Paul saw the *3rd heaven's mysteries*...most of us have to wait for the afterlife to understand.
The problem right now is twofold
1)our lack of understanding of both the old and new testament,
2) our lack of understanding of man and his history.
By definition, one of the attributes of the absolute God is holiness.
Thus, God is absolute holiness itself. In the same way that God is absolute truth itself or absolute mercy itself.
nothing can be good or holy in and of itself. it can only reflect the absolute good or holiness of God. Thus, if something is decreed by God to be holy (whether a person, place, thing or concept), it is because it reflects the attributes of God.
I can see you are in a searching process. I have had some experiences in these subjects...philosophy is dangerous,( Nietzsche the exception) I suggest staying with Carl Jung, Horace Bushnell.
Perhaps you should rest your mind, and seek God's Voice, which will only come to a still quiet mind. Revelation 3:20.
if there is too much noise going on in your *house*, how will you be able to hear the gentle knock at your heart's door?
The kitty was trying to teach something. God, being the eidos of power, defines what is good according to his pronouncement. However the eidos is just a human cognitive tool, and does not represent reality. God does not exist in the same way that the cat eidos does not exist, only specific kittens and specific power figures exist, from which we generalize the idealized eidos.
@DonVoghano Human morality has ultimately nothing to do with God, or the eidos-cognitive categorization trick. It is a complex interplay of social patterns and behaviors, that determines good and evil, right and wrong: a ritualization of pain and pleasure applied to the socio-cultural sphere. Such a capacity has likely a genetic and evolved core, much like the language faculty, and just like we can imagine a "universal grammar" we could postulate a kind of intrinsic "universal moral."
@DonVoghano It is, however, a natural tendency of the slave to expect instruction and punishment from the master. It is obvious by definition that the perfect master will order only what is good and punish only what is evil, but the question of which comes first is meaningless. The moral faculty does not, and has never required the presence of a God concept in order to work, and upon close scrutiny, it is that very same moral faculty that exposes the God concept as ultimately EVIL.
By his mere presence, Cat was trying to weigh in on the issue. I think he was saying, "Holy this, holy that... as you can see, it's not about that. It's about it is, I am, and we are, and nothing more. Things come to be by way of possibility. There is no magic and no rule; only infinite possibility begetting circumstance, begetting opportunity. Purpose and reason are generated out of these three things and, therefore, constantly evolve as they do. My name is Cat, and I approved this message." :)
Lol! The only time in the history if my internet travels that my use of lol for 'laugh out loud' is actually true! What a great bit of bathos. I think he must be TS Eliot's ever-wise Old Deuteronomy come to life!
By the way, I hope you will do more videos. Intrinsic vs extrinsic "holiness" as viewed from a platonic point of view could would be an interesting discussion. Put your gorgeous cat in your lap and try again...Please.

Cat says, put your trust in cod. Life's what you hake it.
Even now I can hear a collective groan as people read this.
Don't take this too seriously. It's just a paws for thought.

.consider how long the jewish people has studied their sacred books, and can not grasp the spiritual meaning
Enters christianity:
Paul's letters, Christ's letters in Revelation all reveal serious issues,,yet insight among a chosen few.
Now enters catholicism as well the greek Orthodox sect.
Then along comes the fathers of the protestant sect.
1800 yrs for one, and 500 yrs for the other. Now we can see very clearly that this is the false church as foretold by Jesus and Paul.

I think the cat was trying to teach you something beyond words.
Philosophy unfortunately, is ultimately a bunch of gobbledegook.
Is the "cat" holy?
Does god love the cat because it's holy?
Please ask the cat -- and she will teach you.
(P.S. this is just like a very famous Zen koan, "Does a dog (or cat) have Buddha nature?")
