This phone is on sale for $20 (refurbished) on the Straight Talk website. I just bought one to replace my flip phone (also Straight Talk). I was tired of using that crappy, small keyboard to text. Straight Talk uses the Verizon network, so coverage is really good. $30/month for 1000 minutes/1000 texts/web is just plain great.
Straight Talk Wireless is THE WORST Customer trained rep on the planet. After 4 months of their service, no one can resolve the problem on my web page log in account and my cell phone device. I am only spending my money because its cheap, therefore, you get cheap crappy service.
The Samsung r451c is a phone for someone who wants to reach more than just the simple things you can do on outdated phones. This represents a step up in technology. Don't be overawed because when master this you will want to take a step further with a 'Finesse' also from Straighttalk
@1cococool can you get it with either plan or do you need the unlimited plan? Has anyone had an experience switching back and forth between the $30 and $45 plan? There are some months that i use my phone a ton and some months where i dont use it very much so in that situation its good to be flexible.
This video is all about helping someone like me find the cellphone which is good for me I've watched it and have decided on the T4. This reviewier knows how to explain things very well
Straight Talk's network coverage is better than most people would expect. I travel a lot for work, from Boston to Florida, and I have never had a call dropped. I pay just $31 and can send 1000 text and use 1000 minutes a month, which is perfect for my job. I am always able to keep in contact with my business partners and stay in touch with friends and family.
is there a way it can lock by itself? cuz i lock the phone then unlock it but i want it to get locked up again so peopel wont got hrough my stuff if i lend it to them.
I just recently purchased this samsung phone. I really enjoy the features the phone comes with. I only wish that it came in pink but regardless of that straight talk is a great service. There are no hidden fees like other cell phone services and you get what you pay for.
@peaceisnotadirtyword This be an OLD phone. It's sturdy and it works, but it's pretty out of date by now, which is my main complaint with Net10 is that they are GOodwill when it comes to phones. But for 50 buclks a month, I save about 80 a month compared to what I used to spend on iPhone and I'll take the tradeoff until I get a raise :)
Cool phone, cool service. Straight talk is money! By money i mean great! Straight talk keeps it cheap and good servicing. Straight talk is the smart man's phone not for ignorant people who like to overspend lol.
Just recently decided to switch to Straight Talk and have been doing much research on which phone to get. To be honest, I'm so excited to be saving money with the Straight Talk $45/month unlimited voice & internet plan that I'll be happy with just about any phone! However, I think I've decided on the r451c, I really like the slider Qwerty keyboard and small size. I'll be going to go purchase the phone soon, I'll try and post my thoughts once I get it! I expect them to be nothing but positive!
I bought this phone a few months ago. I only used it for one month. I bought a phone card for $30 i added those minutes to the phone. The phone just didn't work anymore. I had a phone with 1000 minutes on it but i couldn't use it. Customer Service didn't help much. They kept telling me to push buttons and reset it and i just wanted to return this phone to them so they can fix it like it says on the warranty. What a rip off!!!
@BigMrJuarez I've heard the customer service is not the best but I've personally had no problems because I haven't had to call them yet. Paying 45 per month seems like a steal because the signal is great (ATT or Verizon,) even though I wouldn't call the internet package "deluxe" but been great so far otherwise.
@darylb468 Yeah I feel pretty much the same way, you can't expect all the blazing internet speed and toys that you get on a big overpriced plan but you can get great reception for 45 bucks a month, without limits. And the email still works just fine, we're just spoiled.
Quite a nice phone is this r451c. The querty keyboard is the thing I most like about it.
Travsterable is correct when he says 5 people are jealous about overpaying at other outlet's and not straighttalk. I know many friends who wish they had taken my advice and bought from Straighttalk
This Samsung R451C is anot a top of the range phone but it's practical and actually very durable. With all the benefits that this company offers, it's a bargain
if u dont mind dealing with all the B.S. and problems u will have with customer service and their phones messing up on u then straight talk is great for u
I got my kids these phones and the Straight Talk unlimited plan and they say it's the best gift I ever gave them. The qwerty keyboard is a dream to text on and they don't have to worry about going over an airtime budget!
This is a fun phone. It does a lot of stuff and it is cheap. With Net10 you can go right from $50 a month unlimited to $15 a month for 120 minutes. The fact is that if you are going to use the web a lot you should get the unlimited plan, otherwise you will chew up your minutes too fast. That is still half the price of an I phone.
this Samsung r451c is nice. I enjoy the fact that the price for this is very flexible.I'm on the unlimited talk $50 a month package. Most of m fiends like this phone and are thinking of getting one.
I gotta get rid of my iPhone and this expensive plan that comes with it. The phone looks pretty durable and thick. I'll probably miss my smartphone and maybe someday I can upgrade to something similar with StraightTalk.
I am using the Samsung T401 G with Net 10 unlimited. This is a really good phone that does all that you want it to do. The mobile web is useful, but this is not a proper smartphone.
The great thing about Straight Talk being on the Verizon network is that you can get a cost effective option from Straight Talk $45.00 unlimited talk/text/data with a reliable network.
(1) can i get on facebook? (2) is the internet on it good? (3) Can you set ringtones as message tones (4) and can you download ringtones off of websites?
plz respond back i wanna know ima go get this fone if it can i just cant find out no way else so thats y im asking you.
@745flocka Yes to all, although if you REALLY want to use the mobile web and facebook alot then you should look into their smartphones like samsung r810c and nokia 6790, they cost a little more upfront but they pay for themselves quickly because you only pay 45 bucks a month.
you can not remove the micro or insert the micro sd card without turning of the phone because it can mess up the phone if you insert it or remove the micro sd card from the phone without turning it off because my brother told me and he knows that because he worked on those phones.
I have this phone as well. Great buy, I would recommend this service to anyone no matter their age, because of the value of this plan. $45 unlimited text/min/web on the Verizon network. I got mine from Walmart, so if your in the market for a new phone definetly check out Walmart.
The revolving keypad on this Samsung r451c makes texting so easy. This is a user friendly phone. I like everything that this phone has to offer. The unlimited call and text deals is what you expect from Straighttalk. It's fun to explore all the goodies on this phone
This is the best phone I ever got my kids and this Christmas when they get the unlimited call, data and text deal to use in their phones they are going to be thrilled! I like the fact that they can swop to a cheaper plan if their budgets are tight and go back to unlimited when they feel like it...it's complete freedom!
THis is the same phone as the Net 10 Samsung T 401. On Net 10 unlimited costs $50 a month and on Straighttalk $45 a month, but with Net 10 you can scale right down to $15 a month if you want to, whereas with Straight talk you can only scale down to $25 a month. I have gone with Net 10 and the Reception and coverage is great.
this samsung r514c has a an easy on the eye appearance. A slider phone and has a nice big keyboard for my sms messages. No contracts and unlimited minutes make this a nice option for a xmas present
I have the Samsung T401 from Net 10. I find that the qwerty keyboard is a huge improvement on the usual phone keyboard. This is an all round excellent phone.
The Net 10 unlimited deal at $50 a month is superb. I would never consider any contract phone again.
The samsung r451c has a great future for lovers of smart phones. What wonderful features it has with the qwerty sliders being in my opinion being one of its best. With no contracts to pay and unlimited minutes this is a classic from Straittalk.
my kids are going to go nuts when they open their gifts on Christmas and find the R451 qwerty sliders with Straight talk unlimited....great or me as well as I won't have to listen to the moans when they run out of airtime! We're all for a good holiday thanks to Straight Talk!
I used this model with Straight Talk and I am very pleased. Its a great phone and the sliding keyboard is a fave. I have a unlimited text plan with Straigh Talk and this phone definitely helps me use those up/
I bought this phone on a great deal last Friday. I use the Net 10 unlimited deal and this is the way to go. A great phone with qwerty, mp3, good camera and all the other features. Together with unlimited calling, it is a winner
I use the same model on NET10. Great phone and great that we now finally have unlimited on NET10 too. Great value at the $50. Straight Talk was just not an option for me 'cause I live in one of those cell signal black holes. The NET10 service works well though so no problem.
I do like the QWERTY slider keyboard on this one but I'm thinking about switching to one of their smartphones pretty soon. But my experience with this one has been nothing but positive if you don't need the fancy package and it always only costs 45 bucks a month
@MrCarrib I also have the T401 and I've found it be a pretty decent texting phone and I bought it exactly for that reason. Now that I went with the Net10 unlimited plan, I'm using it more often for talking since I have unlimited texting and calling and the battery life is the only small issue - I wish it lasted a little longer. Since it was no contract when I purchased it in August, I'll prob change phones in the new year.
I have the Samsung T401, which is the same phone, with a Net10 unlimited plan. This is a great phone and a superb deal. I like the Net 10 deal because I can scale it down to $15 a month when I want to. I have had excellent reception all over the country and hardly any dropped calls. I give it a five star recomendation
@MrCarrib Had a very good experience myself, was a little reluctant to buy a pre-paid phone but was sick of the hidden fees and stuff that comes with a contract so I've been on Straight Talk for six months or so. I basically have an iPhone with the Nokia 6790 and it only costs me 45 bucks a month
@MrCarrib I think Straight Talk is a little classier tho, it uses the Verizon network and you can get smartphones like the Nokia 6790 which I don't think you can get on Net10 yet. And 5 bucks a month does eventually add up :)
i have this phone with net 10. just browsing to see if there were any cool features I hadnt figured out yet... i like how i am able to purchase minutes both online and at retailers like a wal-mart, etc.
I have this phone on an unlimited Net 10 deal at $50 a month. It is a really great phone. I went for Net 10 Rather than Straight Talk, because with Net 10 I can scale down to $15 a month if I want to.
I have used this phone with a Straight Talk unlimited plan for some time now. I recently upgraded to a Nokia 6790 smartphone, also on a $45 unlimited Straight Talk plan. The smart phone is superb, but if you don't want to go that route, then this qwerty phone is your best option. I see that there is a great deal on it on Black Friday at Walmart.
Hey I like this phone the most of the straight talk options. If only because it runs off the CDMA network. The fixed qwerty is also a major plus. Using this phone with the unlimited plan will surely be a pleasure. Got to weigh up the smart phone option though.
I have this phone and I am on the straighttalk unlimited plan. This sure is a worthwhile way to go. For $45 a month I get unlimited talk, text and data time with no extra hidden costs added as I did before on my contract. I don't see the point in having a contract phone when there is straighttalk and all it has to offer available
Net10 has some pretty cool monthly plans: an Unlimited everything plan for $50 and a 750-minute monthly plan for just $25! These are both great deals and? the good news is you can switch between them from month to month. Go unlimited some months and switch to the cheaper plan for months when you don't use your cell that much.
I was reading about someone saying that working from home was easier with straight talk and I have to agree. I truly love this phone.. and yes its not an offical blackberry.. but it doesnt everything and more that a blackberry does. EXCEPT HALF THE PRICE. Plus I find that the web loads a ton faster. 50 bucks.. amazing
I already have the phone on straighttalk $45 unlimited - I am just so impressed with what I have got. Monthly savings by not having to pay hidden costs in a contract and all the calls texts and data that I want for the month. This is a great phone to have
Definitely going over to net10. Their unlimited deal is more than reasonable, but the onus of being able to fall back on a $15 plan is invaluable. I had a look now at the r355, and the t401. I'm going to take this phone purely because it runs the verizon network. And seeing that I travel a fair amount, I'd be best covered that way.
I think that even though the phones on Straight Talk are great it's the value for money that really counts....$45.00 a month for unlimited talk, text and web is a steal and the money I've saved will buy an awful lot of Christmas cheer
Good review....tells me everything I need to know about Straight Talk and I'm off to get them this wonderful phone and deal for Christmas...what a great gift for teens who spend their lives on the phone and a gift for me is the $45.00 a month which is so doable compared to a contract and it's a great qwerty slider as well!
After much quizing as to why straight talk would have two such similar phones in their line-up, I found that this phone operates on the cdma network, as opposed to the t401 that runs on the GSM. Before that, I naturally said, yeah I'll go with the phone WITH the camcorder. Now I think differently. I'd much rather be on the cdma network, have a phone that has coverage, than have a camcorder to record my frustrations.
Thanks you all for the info! I got me a smart phone, a nokia with Straight Talk! i wanted a good phone but I was not willing to get trapped into a contract and a huge monthly bill. With Straight Talk I only pay $45 a month for unlimited...sweet!
@TheRealPoptart but dude,,, its pretty CHEAP for a prepaid phone! On Net10 it's 79.99 but on Straight Talk it is 109.99 + a 1 month card..(30$value) so it is pretty cheap!
The explanation of this guy was found to be very helpful. My Straight Talk cellphone is a Samsung R355c it looks like a blackberry. I have the $45 a month unlimited plan, and is amazing how much I saved. You can find it for Walmart now, but since its becoming so popular soon they will have it everywhere. They also have $30 a month plan with 1000 minutes to use as you prefer. I am 100% pleased with my purchase. You can save too.
Wow, what a great ad! I have been working from home for a while, purchasing a Straight Talk Cellphone has been great and the savings that comes with too. I purchase the $30 a month plan with 1000 minutos to use as you want. Since I use it less it lasts the month, it has no contract to sign and if you want a great deal get the $45 unlimited plan for a month and talk yourself away.
Nice review, Dude! Very thorough. I've been using this phone for the past couple months on the unlimited $45 plan and neither the plan nor the phone have failed me. About the song order thing, all I did was change the names on my song files to include the track numbers before the title, (01, 02, 03, etc.) and it worked like a charm.
I am a straight talk guy also. Nice video man 56,000 hits is very impressive you must really know what you are talking about. I wish there was a camcorder on this phone also but the qwerty keyboard makes up for it in my books. Anyways thanks for the great review i am a fan of your work.
I used this phone for some time and I must say that I am really happy with how long it lasted, I think I used it for two years and pretty much loved everything about it. But they also just came out with a smartphone which is great for my business, the Nokia 6790.
Since net10 has changed their unlimited plan to $50, I've also (well like my daughter) wanted to switch. The strait talk is slightly cheaper than the net10 plan, but I prefer having the option of only paying $15 a month if I so wish. Looking for the phone however. Can't see why anyone would take this phone above the t401
It seems like straight talk is pretty good for families but I gotta say that it's also great for business because of the new Nokia6790 smartphone. I avoided this service before but with this service there's no reason to waste money on iphone.
@filmguy786 At the beginning of this year I started working from home. Now with the new smartphone on Straight Talk my life has become so much easier (and cheaper!). The phone works really well, just as great as any blackberry I had before. I pay half the price i did then.
Since taking my son off a contract onto Straight Talk $45.00 unlimited talk/text/data deal I have saved so much money. I chose a really nice phone from Walmart - a Samsung R451C which has the slider QWERTY keyboard and MP3 player which keeps him entertained.
@tamsin20101 I did the same thing with my daughter and it's incredible the money that i'm no longer throwing away to her very very long phone conversations. I'm encouraging all my family to switch to net10.
I got the phone for net10. My unlimited plan is $5 more expensive than straight talk plan. But come next month, I might not be able to get the $50 deal. Then I can just swap to something smaller without being penalized.
I saved so much money with my Straight Talk $45 unlimited plan (almost $30 a month!) This phone looks pretty good and you'll just pay once off for it and then its unlimited everything. Pretty sweet deal!
the NEW unlimited plan is the way to go! if you are using NET10, you need to look into this deal...unlimited talk, text, web and they throw in free 411. Love it! I am a phone person, it is either on my hip or my ear and even though i loved how affordable NET10 is, I was always watching my usage. $50/month and everything is unlimited! FINALLY : )
I was wondering that if you can have a ringtone as a texting tone. Like if someone txts you is it only certain noises you can use or can you use any sound you download? Also have you had any problems with receiving some picture msgs with them being to big? And my last question is if you can have an MP3 formatted sound?
i actually am starting to love this phone. or at least the look of it. that keyboard does speak to me. But i still don't know how well this phone does on the internet. All the other apps are cool, but to make full use of unlimited data - cmon, can it browse fast?
Straighttalk is a really cool provider. They are cheap and reliable. For $45 a month a get unlimited talk, text and web time which also is nationwide. There is nothing wrong with the handsets either as you can see from the video
Straight Talk has the best service out there, it's great, reliable and most important: affordable. I'm saving tons of money, my last contract was more than $100 a month, now with Straight Talk I only pay $45 a month for unlimited service.
Thanks for the really informative review. For the price looks like a great feature rich phone. Am looking to switch to prepaid and Net10 unlimited seems like the answer...only $50- the first time I saw someone mention it, thought it was a typo! And so many satisfied customers!
Are you able to set something that you recorded or downloaded as a ringtone for when somebody texts you or does it come with only certain ones you can use?
This phone is awesome. I went into Walmart to buy it with my Net10 coverage and I'm in love with it. Great way to start the weekend, it has an awesome texting pad and a great video recorder.
My kids are crazy about this phone as it texts so easily and now to my delight I see that Net10 have a new UNLIMITED call, text and data plan and free 411 calls as well. It's going to make a huge difference to me not having to hear anyone whining that they've run out of airtime!
I love this phone! I've had this phone with straight talk for 10 months now. I love the features and the style of the phone. The keyboard makes for easy and fast texting. Plus the $45 for unlimited talk AND text makes it an unbeatable offer. Only complaint is that I went to P.R. for vacation and I couldn’t use it. Other than that, its been nothing but smooth sailing!
Great Review, however you were wrong about the Digital Zoom. With Camera loaded you press the Pad surrounding the OK button left or right to zoom in and out. Press the Pad up and down to brighten or to make the picture darker.
@mudderandnutter thanks for the info about the zoom mudderandnutter. am a bit techno slow, now I know. Love my phone and the no contract with straighttalk, need to save in this economy.
Great phone! Qwerty keyboard is a given in today's smartphones and this one is awesome, i can type faster emails and texts than ever before! Also love the net10 coverage! Almost never drop a call...
This phone is so sweet, I am thinking about getting one and the QWERTY keyboard is a big deal for me because I text a lot. Another thing i really like about this phone is the MP3 player. The phone sounds pretty good from the onboard speakers, and I am trying to switch to straight talk so i can get off of my contract.
The Costumer service is terrible. I lost my phone went and bought a new one called them to get my number transferd to the new phone took over 4 hours the first day and 2 hours the second day. The call center is in the Philipines and i had a hard time understanding them i was transferd 8 times. I do not recomend this carrier at all. They have alot to learn on costumer care.
I really really want this phone I currently have the LG600g from tracfone but its so hard to text on im ready for an upgrade is this the best deal for me?I love to text and i use texting mainly someone please help!
i love my new samsung r451. i got it at walmart together with a $45 a month plan. unlimtied talk, text and web access. super deal. my new phone has an mp3 player and a camera. it wasn't cheap but for me well worth the money spent, especially as it came with the Straicht Talk plan for only $45.
i bought this phone and they couldnt activate it so they put me on hold for 1 hour and then they hung up on me! i think the whole net10 is bullshit! not recomentable! And a bunch of sons and daughters of official bitches!!!
I bought this phone a while ago, and now I see a lot of people have it too! It's a great validation. I got it with a prepaid plan as well, with Straight Talk, and I only pay $45 for unlimited text and voice, and it's great cos' my friends text me all the time! The phone is cool and it has a camera and mp3 player. Also amazing reception, I even get my phone calls in the elevator.
I used to have a big expensive AT&T plan because I still wasn't sure that pre-paid services had all of the features that I use regularly (Data plan, music and video, email, etc.). Well, I've been on Straight Talk for about a year (I got my hands on the Samsung R3555C that they offer- very nice!) and I'm pleased to report that I couldn't be happier. Over the past year, I've saved close to $1000 on my phone bill, and that includes all of the data and texts that I want. Get rid of that contract!
I adore my Straight Talk R451C prepaid plan phone because of its big comfy slider qwerty keyboard which makes for quick texting & your fingers don't slide off the buttons, plus it has all the bells and whistles I could ever need to enhance my life style. I have music where ever I walk or drive on my MP3, and I can send photo's on my mobile web and browse on the net to my hearts content using the $45 Straight talk plan with unlimited data, talk & text nationwide, for 30 days service.
i like this phone a lot. i know it does not come cheap, but it is definately worth it. with my $45 a month Straight Talk plan for unlimited calls, text and web access i have saved enough money to afford this phone.i treated myself to it, and with my savings on my Straigth Talk unlimited plan i could upgrade every 6 month if i wanted to.thank you Straigth Talk
great phone, very durable, forget the bells and whistles, it's a phone! u talk, let the gadget freaks pay $100 for data plans, I'm quite happy paying $45 for UNLIMITED
I really enjoy this phone and find it has everything that I need - the bonus is the striaght talk deal of unlimited talk, text and web time for $45 which indludes 30days service and awsome deal!
I already have Straight Talk and I absolutely LOVE the service and I do like the phone I have, but it is missing one very important feature for me. Most people screen their calls, but I screen my texts. LoL I also have an LG 265 and it lets me set a different ringtone AND texttone for each contact. My question is does the Samsung R451C have that option? Do you hear each contacts ringtone when they text as well as when they call or is it just one tone no matter who is texting?
My teenage son got so jealous of my r451c I finally cracked and gave it to him and he's over the moon...however I got my own back and got myself the Samsung Finesse from Straight Talk with the $45.00 per month unlimited plan and he's not even allowed to touch it!!
Wow... Sounds too good to be true but I will definitely check it out. This phone is available at Walmart? Oh and it's 45 dollars a month for unlimited talk, text, web access, and free 411?
An excellent review...thanks..you answered every question I could have asked so I'm off to buy the Samsung r451c from Walmart! I'm also blown away by the $45.00 per month unlimited call, text and data deal from Straight Talk ..it makes a great, affordable cell phone package deal!!
This phone is great! I had it for a few months, but then I got the 355 (the one that looks like a bberry) and LOVED THAT ONE! So I gave my old phone to my girlfriend, she loves it! The good thing is that because we have Straight Talk we save so much money we can afford to change phone models often!
i have had straight talk service with this phone since early February. I have saved so much money with this service. The phone is ok but around May the phone started shutting off randomly. I am happy with the service though and I'm thinking of upgrading to the r355c but I'm not sure if it is worth it or not.
I have this on straighttalk and I save sooo much money every month because of the straighttalk$45 per month unlimited. I no longer get bills at the end of the month for calls that I have made and nor do I find that I have to get off the phone all the time! Straighttalk service is great as well
To get the playlists to work, I had to make sure the files were Lf and not CrLf, and that the slashes were for unix instead of dos. That is to say "/folders/" instead of "\folders\". CrLf might work, but the slashes are a must.
I think this is the best phone offered by any prepaid networks.. And really awesome that it is Net10, who offer the best coverage and the lowest call and text rates. Sweet deal
My boyfriend bought me this phone for my graduation and I could not be happier with it. The sliding keyboard is such a great feature because it allows for quick texting. I got this phone for about 100 dollars so it was pretty affordable when you consider that there is no contract. I love the unlimited plan that you can get for it and the coverage seems to be just as good as other major carriers. I think straight talk is up to par with other major cell phone carriers. Thanks for the review.
got this with pre-paid company called net 10. came with a package of a $30 phone card. wall charger, phone charger, case, and headphones for $70. It's a damn mp3 player too, so taking away the $30 and the average cost of a car charger, case, headphones, and mp3 player the phone is basically free. I couldn't be happier with a deal.
I actually purchased this phone for my brother for his birthday several months back and while I have the Samsung Finesse with Straight Talk, he really raves about this phone. It was a reasonable $99+activation and he's on the $45 unlimited plan so no overages or contract fees. As far as features, he says its on the basic side, but he still as an MP3 player, camera, and can use his Bluetooth. In terms of pricing and plans, Straight Talk seems to be doing it right.
Once you have the beautiful, Samsung R451C you don't need to look at any other phone - you are just satisfied and content with all its abilities. I like the large keyboard you so you can text faster with 2 hands. It's my office away from home, got blue tooth, mob. web, my sound system when walking & I send my boyfriend & family a photo of a beautiful place that I 'm at when they can't be with me. You need the $45 package here cos one just can't stop playing with the phone it is such fun.
Hey guys, I have the same phone with straight talk, need to save money...but actually very impressed with the phone and coverage, going to try and switch my girlfriend over
i have an sd card for it, what music format does this phone support?

This phone is on sale for $20 (refurbished) on the Straight Talk website. I just bought one to replace my flip phone (also Straight Talk). I was tired of using that crappy, small keyboard to text. Straight Talk uses the Verizon network, so coverage is really good. $30/month for 1000 minutes/1000 texts/web is just plain great.

Thanks for a very good video on this R451C cell phone. You did a nice job of demo and explaining the features of the video.

Straight Talk Wireless is THE WORST Customer trained rep on the planet. After 4 months of their service, no one can resolve the problem on my web page log in account and my cell phone device. I am only spending my money because its cheap, therefore, you get cheap crappy service.

stangtrax 9 months ago
The Samsung r451c is a phone for someone who wants to reach more than just the simple things you can do on outdated phones. This represents a step up in technology. Don't be overawed because when master this you will want to take a step further with a 'Finesse' also from Straighttalk
1cococool 10 months ago
@1cococool can you get it with either plan or do you need the unlimited plan? Has anyone had an experience switching back and forth between the $30 and $45 plan? There are some months that i use my phone a ton and some months where i dont use it very much so in that situation its good to be flexible.

I just recently purchased this samsung phone. I really enjoy the features the phone comes with. I only wish that it came in pink but regardless of that straight talk is a great service. There are no hidden fees like other cell phone services and you get what you pay for.
peaceisnotadirtyword 11 months ago

I expect them to be nothing but positive!
joe143whales 11 months ago
I bought this phone a few months ago. I only used it for one month. I bought a phone card for $30 i added those minutes to the phone. The phone just didn't work anymore. I had a phone with 1000 minutes on it but i couldn't use it. Customer Service didn't help much. They kept telling me to push buttons and reset it and i just wanted to return this phone to them so they can fix it like it says on the warranty. What a rip off!!!
BigMrJuarez 11 months ago
@BigMrJuarez I've heard the customer service is not the best but I've personally had no problems because I haven't had to call them yet. Paying 45 per month seems like a steal because the signal is great (ATT or Verizon,) even though I wouldn't call the internet package "deluxe" but been great so far otherwise.
darylb468 11 months ago
@darylb468 Yeah I feel pretty much the same way, you can't expect all the blazing internet speed and toys that you get on a big overpriced plan but you can get great reception for 45 bucks a month, without limits. And the email still works just fine, we're just spoiled.

Quite a nice phone is this r451c. The querty keyboard is the thing I most like about it.

I have the Samsung T401 from Net 10. I find that the qwerty keyboard is a huge improvement on the usual phone keyboard. This is an all round excellent phone.
The Net 10 unlimited deal at $50 a month is superb. I would never consider any contract phone again.

I use the same model on NET10. Great phone and great that we now finally have unlimited on NET10 too. Great value at the $50. Straight Talk was just not an option for me 'cause I live in one of those cell signal black holes. The NET10 service works well though so no problem.
Thanks for the excellent review.

I do like the QWERTY slider keyboard on this one but I'm thinking about switching to one of their smartphones pretty soon. But my experience with this one has been nothing but positive if you don't need the fancy package and it always only costs 45 bucks a month
mschroder799 1 year ago
@MrCarrib I also have the T401 and I've found it be a pretty decent texting phone and I bought it exactly for that reason. Now that I went with the Net10 unlimited plan, I'm using it more often for talking since I have unlimited texting and calling and the battery life is the only small issue - I wish it lasted a little longer. Since it was no contract when I purchased it in August, I'll prob change phones in the new year.
TheZachary2008 1 year ago
I have the Samsung T401, which is the same phone, with a Net10 unlimited plan. This is a great phone and a superb deal. I like the Net 10 deal because I can scale it down to $15 a month when I want to. I have had excellent reception all over the country and hardly any dropped calls. I give it a five star recomendation
MrCarrib 1 year ago
@MrCarrib Had a very good experience myself, was a little reluctant to buy a pre-paid phone but was sick of the hidden fees and stuff that comes with a contract so I've been on Straight Talk for six months or so. I basically have an iPhone with the Nokia 6790 and it only costs me 45 bucks a month
nuckyt305 1 year ago
@MrCarrib I think Straight Talk is a little classier tho, it uses the Verizon network and you can get smartphones like the Nokia 6790 which I don't think you can get on Net10 yet. And 5 bucks a month does eventually add up :)

I see that there is a great deal on it on Black Friday at Walmart.
searover88 1 year ago
Hey I like this phone the most of the straight talk options. If only because it runs off the CDMA network. The fixed qwerty is also a major plus. Using this phone with the unlimited plan will surely be a pleasure. Got to weigh up the smart phone option though.
Hamsterrolly 1 year ago
I have this phone and I am on the straighttalk unlimited plan. This sure is a worthwhile way to go. For $45 a month I get unlimited talk, text and data time with no extra hidden costs added as I did before on my contract. I don't see the point in having a contract phone when there is straighttalk and all it has to offer available
survivor1450 1 year ago
Net10 has some pretty cool monthly plans: an Unlimited everything plan for $50 and a 750-minute monthly plan for just $25! These are both great deals and? the good news is you can switch between them from month to month. Go unlimited some months and switch to the cheaper plan for months when you don't use your cell that much.
boomchaos64 1 year ago
I was reading about someone saying that working from home was easier with straight talk and I have to agree. I truly love this phone.. and yes its not an offical blackberry.. but it doesnt everything and more that a blackberry does. EXCEPT HALF THE PRICE. Plus I find that the web loads a ton faster. 50 bucks.. amazing
rebruns23 1 year ago
I already have the phone on straighttalk $45 unlimited - I am just so impressed with what I have got. Monthly savings by not having to pay hidden costs in a contract and all the calls texts and data that I want for the month. This is a great phone to have
seanhulley 1 year ago
Definitely going over to net10. Their unlimited deal is more than reasonable, but the onus of being able to fall back on a $15 plan is invaluable. I had a look now at the r355, and the t401. I'm going to take this phone purely because it runs the verizon network. And seeing that I travel a fair amount, I'd be best covered that way.
FriendlyIgor 1 year ago
I think that even though the phones on Straight Talk are great it's the value for money that really counts....$45.00 a month for unlimited talk, text and web is a steal and the money I've saved will buy an awful lot of Christmas cheer
roshb77 1 year ago
Good review....tells me everything I need to know about Straight Talk and I'm off to get them this wonderful phone and deal for Christmas...what a great gift for teens who spend their lives on the phone and a gift for me is the $45.00 a month which is so doable compared to a contract and it's a great qwerty slider as well!
flycamper 1 year ago
After much quizing as to why straight talk would have two such similar phones in their line-up, I found that this phone operates on the cdma network, as opposed to the t401 that runs on the GSM. Before that, I naturally said, yeah I'll go with the phone WITH the camcorder. Now I think differently. I'd much rather be on the cdma network, have a phone that has coverage, than have a camcorder to record my frustrations.

The $45.00 Is in fact the unlimited plan.

Wow... Sounds too good to be true but I will definitely check it out. This phone is available at Walmart? Oh and it's 45 dollars a month for unlimited talk, text, web access, and free 411?

I have a question about Straight Talk. I'm a bit confused. All you have to do is buy the phone from their website, add the $
