I wanted to laugh and almost did. It's too bad you didn't do a better job on this-- the grass was good, but too many animals, and your revolutionary needs to have a Southern accent even though they didn't exist yet.

Nothing is sacred, yes, even the great films of Malick, but if you're gonna parody them, do so with some real insight! Otherwise we'll just think you're too short-witted to really appreciate them ;)

I thought Badlands was alright, but I really like The Thin Red Line and The New World. I have yet to see Days of Heaven, though. I think the video's on the internet somewhere.

I thought this video was kind of funny. Malick's naturalist style of cinematography isn't for everyone. I normally despise unecessary narration in movies (it killed The Assassination of Jesse James for me), but it is integral for Malick's.

The scene from 1:23 to 1:50 once again shows Malick's brilliant skills of film-making. The cricket stands as a symbol to man's suffering, its long stare and eery quietness a message to all of us; to treat eachother with more care and preserve our emotional bond to nature. This recently discovered footage once again warms me up for 12.5 hours of his future film The Tree of Life. I hope to see him release a 16 hour director's cut of the film I have seen here.
