I just beat Extra about 10 minutes ago and unlocked Phantasm. I saw the first fairies appear and thought "this isn't that much harder than Extra".

then another three groups of faries appeared when there should only have been one.

I managed to beat Ran and reach the dodging section before Yukari on my third or fourth run, but goddamn it's a lot faster and harder than Extra.

@mikotofan7 The hitbox in touhou games are about 2 pixels, when you go in focus mode (hold down shift) you can see a tiny hitbox in the middle of your character, thats the only part of your character that you will die if your hit with a bullet.

I just saw that the Phantasm stage is a harder version of the Extra Stage. For example, Ran's last spell where she flys around the screen leaving a trail of bullets is almost like Chen's last spell from the Extra stage. Another example is that the bullet pattern before the sub is the same on the Extra Stage, but the bullets are bigger.

I am soooo late and slow but i just realised phantasm is a remix of extra mode XD, the bullet patterns are harder but the phases of which it occurs are the same-ish.

well, as far as Touhou number 6 goes... it's pressing and holding the shift key.

that makes you move slower. GREAT for those hard to navigate bullet patterns.

in this video you can see the spheres that are beside the character go in front of the character and the "persuasion needles" fire in a more "focused manner.

also it slows the character down so one can squeeze through those really complex bullet patterns.

this is a unique feature is activated by going that far up the screen,  it's like risk and reward.

you get all the score things... AND at max value, but you're really close to where some stray bullet could make you go boom.

Being someone who has completed both PCB and IN, I disagree that Yukari is harder than Mokou simply because Yukari is basically a clone of Ran where you got to learn the spellcards beforehand.

Nice try, but you fail. You are getting hit by several bullets in this clip, shitty youtube compression isn't enough to hide that.

Most notable hit is at 3:48-3:50 No character can take a hit from those larger blue orbs without death. Yet somehow you do and it simply disappears.
