Remeber when cops started carrying tasers? We were told they were a nonlethal gun. So where they would use their gun they would now use the nonlethal taser. It was total BS. The police taser people all the time today. Any resistor, no matter how violent, very violent or not so much, with a weapon, more often, without a weapon. Dave Victor, the vocalist for MDC is actually the nicest guy ever. I went to an MDC show last year and I was like 15 years old. After MDC's set Dave came up to me and started conversation and we just kept talking for a long time. I eventually made my way over to the merch table and we just kept talking and when I had to go, he gave me a 15$ MDC shirt for free. I'm glad to see they've been playing for so long and still enjoy every minute of it.

They played Santa Cruz just a few days ago, but a Security Guard took offense to some lyrics and 20 squad cars came, and the cops were not dead. They stopped the band from playing under threat of arrest in a huge display of police force by SCPD, Sheriffs, and other nearby jurisdictions in fascist display of police force.

dave isn't gay. randy turner from big boys is gay. both being hardcore bands from austin they toured together and were friends. "america so straight?" and "pay to come along" are about the homophobia witnessed within the hardcore scene. specifically a falling out with the Bad Brains during a tour in 82. when the Brains found out randy was gay they quit the tour and stiffed big boys on a loan and left randy a note that basically said "burn in hell faggot"

Id have to say MDC was the greatest hardcore band of all time. I know people will disagree, because MDC didn't have as big of an influnce in the beginning such as bands like Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, etc. However, MDC brought probably the most powerful and offensive message of all time to the punk rock and hardcore scenes.They changed the way alot of people started to think. Their music will continue to live on and have a positive influence on many.

My band's in highschool and it sucks dick because we can't find anywhere to play. We did it in our friend's basement but the pit was huge and we couldn't fit enough kids down there. We're trying to find places to play but if there's no electricity we can't do it so it blows. We're the only punk band in our town though, which is pretty cool cuz people really like us here.
