Answer to the question. Start with giving the people power. I went to Pakistan a few months ago, and the power in the rural areas went out for one to three hours a day, five times a day. When you educate the masses effectively, it might take longer, but change WILL come. You teach all children of Pakistan to think for themselves, they will implement change, and it will come naturally, so be more likely to last. Answer to the question. Start with giving the people power. I went to Pakistan a few months ago, and the power in the rural areas went out for one to three hours a day, five times a day. I was broiling, but then I saw the woman of the house fanning all her 5 kids one at a time while thay slept. I fanned her and the youngest child until the power came back... Then it went out again an hour later.

Talk to some pakistanis about it, because they usually have a LOOOT to say about the US interfering in their politics. I cant say if its true or not, but it is something that every single pakistani I've talked to has told me about. To answer your question tho, education. I have no clue if the madrassas are good or not and im not saying get rid of them, religion is in the heart of pakistan, u cant take tht away from them. In any case, at the heart of any functioning society is a solid education.

Well, I have to say that it is generally unfair to call a state "failed." Generally, this is because when a country is labeled as a "failed state" it provides a justification for other countries to intervene on its behalf, and sometimes this intervention is not morally justifiable. Ex. Iraq. The words "failed state" can actually be quite manipulative, because all states fail in some way to provide their people with vital social services.

You ALWAYS start with education.The lack of it is the cause very nearly ALL the problems in society, whether in Pakistan or America. When you educate the masses effectively, it might take longer, but change WILL come. You teach all children of Pakistan to think for themselves, they will implement change, and it will come naturally, so be more likely to last. Instead of invading, imposing democracy on a divided nation, you allow change to bubble up from within (LIKE INCEPTION *gasp*).

You need to stop the Taliban first in my opinion. I am no expert, but once the Taliban is gone the nation should fall pretty stagnant, then you can take your time establishing a competent Government so they can take care of the other situations. The problem is the Taliban you can't stop them as long as you are fighting them they will be able to drum up more support and recruit more members. It's a never ending stream.
