I personally know someone who is driving around in a Daihatsu Charade (with an X91-4001 motor) which is heavier than my car and he's using lead acid batteries! His car goes very well and the motor doesn't even get hot.
Note: My car (using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries) will weight just over 2000lbs when finished - and that's with 2 people inside.
Are you an expert on X91-4001 motors?
Oh, and don't forget your promise of $20.00 when my car is finished. Make it $US20.00 to make it worthwhile.
For a few coins more you could have gotten TWICE the power. At some point in the future, battery technology will advance. Why would u want to limit yourself with a small motor?
hey mate! why is this guy giving you a hard time. he should check out my videos of my barina running the x91-4001 with 120volts and lead acid batteries. the car has twice the power it had on petrol. i have a chassis dyno at work! it uses 40 amps to do 50km/h and 110amps to do 100km/h. what more would this guy want! these motors are 120 volt rated and i dont see any prob;em with them. mine runs at room temp all the time! hope this helps your case mate? not that you had one to answer to anyway!
Thanks Blair... are you listening John (randytooth).
Hey Blair, can you make a video of your car being driven so we can hear the sound (quietness) of it. The Current Affair video had music everywhere and you can't hear the car much.
Nice! I wanted to do this too for my videos but the machining was done for us off-site while we worked on something else. Excellent to see this sort of thing as part of an EV conversion.
Hi, The coupler is next. Hammat Precision Engineering are making that as well. It will be a solid steel coupling with the modified/reduced clutch plate bolted to it, making use of the springs in the clutch plate.
nice adaptor plate! yours is the only other one i have seen where it is turned on a lathe. i'd love to see if your coupler is similar to mine too! keep up the good work mate! i'm going back out to the shed to finish mounting the batteries in mine now!
the machining of your adapter plates is really great. Did you and your friend in Mighty Boy 2 have your work done at the same shop? Excellent work.

Clean adapter plate very solid looking
blackdogfx 2 years ago
hey.
how much did they charge you to make the adaptor plate ?
(if you don't mind me asking ?)
im about to start looking for enginering shops to make mine for me, and i would like to get an idea of the cost involved ?
exaturbo 2 years ago
The cost was just over $1500.00.
evric2008 2 years ago
wow, that's a little more than i was expecting.....
i hope i can get one made substantially cheaper than that......

X91-4001 would be a great motor IN A GOLF-CART!
It won't live long if u feed it 120v pulling a 3000lbs load around. U should have got the FB1-4001. Penny wise and pound foolish!

Most dont need twice the power
people need about what the ice put out
and its not a few coins more!!
especially what you put in your junker
zilla HA
$3k unspecified wait, otmar is a freak he is doing exactly what he says he doesent want, tech stopping
he will never sell that outdated technology, this next year will prove it
there is a company developing a controller and charger in one box the same size as a curtis
and for way less than a zilla, and performs the same if not better
