  • Using a Japanese motor is fine but why did cat have to go to the worst diesel maker in Japan I could see Hino/Toyota, Nissan, or Isuzu anyday but not mitsubishi.

Worked on their Fuso motor junk barely get 100k miles

  • Were my dad works some one put a 238 detroit in a john deere scraper man it sounded good

  • Best of both worlds.

  • Well, I lost a lot of money repairing the 3066 7JK series Cat Engine without any success. Cat has had pretty good engines, but this 3066 isn't an original Cat; this is a Japanesse engine built by Mitsubishi, and in this excavator it was ok until the first 10.000 hours... After that I spent money buying a Cramshaft, a new turbo, a new block, injectors, and five repairs... Then I decided to change the engine for a Cummins, and till now It has worked about 3.000 hours without troubles..

  • Why the changed?

  • weird, i would expect a CAT machine to have a CAT engine...??

  • A Cummins 6BT. Six Cilinders, 5.9 Liters and 152 H.P.

  • What kind of engine is in there?
