I've always loved that myth, ever since junior high. Gluttony does match the origins perfectly, as does Lust with her buxom body and Greed being...well, Greed. XD
Envy, however, is made even better in Brotherhood, though he's fantastic here. :D
Also, in Brotherhood, the way the Homunculi are defeated matches the ways sins are punished in Dante's Divine Comedy, especially Lust and Envy. :)

Oh yeah, I completely agree. Actually, in those aspects, Lust is made even better in Brotherhood; while in this series she has some degree of a heart, longing to be human, in the newer series, she has absolutely no love at all. She's out for her and her alone, and even strings Havoc along for the ride.
In regards to Envy, well, jealously makes you do horrible things, so that works. XDD

i already figured the 7 deadly sins were going to be in cause of envy, lust, and gluttony all being there. It just made sense. This show has incredibly deep reference's like episode 19s whole question of identity relates directly to the philosopher Rene Descartes and his state I think; therefore I am. The butcher guy said I kill; therefore i am. I love this show cause its actually quite quite quite intelligent.
I love both FMA & FMA Brotherhood (which is based on the manga), but I like Brotherhood ending better, eventhough I liked the movie for the first FMA anime. That's just my opinion. :)

I've always loved that myth, ever since junior high. Gluttony does match the origins perfectly, as does Lust with her buxom body and Greed being...well, Greed. XD
Envy, however, is made even better in Brotherhood, though he's fantastic here. :D
Also, in Brotherhood, the way the Homunculi are defeated matches the ways sins are punished in Dante's Divine Comedy, especially Lust and Envy. :)

Oh yeah, I completely agree. Actually, in those aspects, Lust is made even better in Brotherhood; while in this series she has some degree of a heart, longing to be human, in the newer series, she has absolutely no love at all. She's out for her and her alone, and even strings Havoc along for the ride.
In regards to Envy, well, jealously makes you do horrible things, so that works. XDD
Yeah, Sloth does not seem accurately named at all in this version. X3

@woodlefoof2 I don't know about this show, but they did well with the personallitys in brotherhood. Everyone's personallity matched their sin. I already knew about the sins, since my family is christian. I'm atheist, though.

i already figured the 7 deadly sins were going to be in cause of envy, lust, and gluttony all being there. It just made sense. This show has incredibly deep reference's like episode 19s whole question of identity relates directly to the philosopher Rene Descartes and his state I think; therefore I am. The butcher guy said I kill; therefore i am. I love this show cause its actually quite quite quite intelligent.

I love both FMA & FMA Brotherhood (which is based on the manga), but I like Brotherhood ending better, eventhough I liked the movie for the first FMA anime. That's just my opinion. :)

Although, Envy can transform into male or femaleManga: genderless. He can shapeshift into anything he wants to and he usually chooses a (girly looking) male form. Envy was Biologically male-He was... Hohenheim's son. Envy is a boy in this FMA, but as for FMA Brotherhood, Envy is basically genderless- or in other words: androgynous. Sources say that In this anime, he is male, but FMA Brotherhood, Envy is Andro. It's confusing ain't it? lol
