Beautifully realized short film. Amuses me that the effect should be ruined for people simply because this was a car ad.  That has nothing to do with the artistry displayed here. Why let the collision of art and commerce spoil things for us? --well, it doesn't have to.

@m4lvolio It was comissioned BY VW. They didn't buy footage and slap a logo on it. If it wasn't for VW this would not exist.

@m4lvolio : It maybe a commercial but they did make this video possible, and many other cool video's with it. At least their commercials are great to look at opposed to the shitloads of soap or breakfast cereal commercials. In fact I know a lot of artists, filmmakers and animators would LOVE to do a commercial for a company like that simply because their budgets are HUGE and at times give the artist a lot of freedom to show things the way they want to.
