  • LOL they have a heart attack when she lifts her dress up a little bit! Could you imagine if they saw what girls wear today!

  • Your daughters' daughters' DO adore ya's! xxx

  • I love this part it's so funny and cute :)

  • Ah Glynis - love her voice......one of the greats

  • I've been taught by an old woman that even though the women did get the vote in the early 20th century, they were always pushed by their husbands to vote for the politicians that their husbands supported. But that stopped around women's lib. Just saying a piece of social history.

  • I think the chick who plays the cook is also the cook in Pollyanna lol

  • It's not far to compare her to the amazing julie Andrews. in Mary Poppins, Glynis was already a mature woman, almost past her prime. Check her out in Miranda (b&w-1948) or The Court Jester 1955.

  • I was so annoyed when this song wasn't in the stage show, :(

  • Holy crap... Caty Nana is the woman who played Bride of Frankenstein!

  • Glynis Johns has the mysterious power to steal every scene she was ever in, no matter who else was on screen ... if Abraham Lincoln and Queen Elizabeth I were in a movie with her, everyone would still be looking at Glynis.

  • I bet she would have been great on the stage.

  • @elenore9 She won a tony on broadway for Stephen Sondheim's, "A Little Night Music"

  • I just realized she played the grandmother from Superstar

  • She wasn't even paying attention to Katie Nana, LOL!!! She was a good singer, but not nearly as good as Julie Andrews. Vocally, Julie just overshadowed everyone in this film BIG TIME. But they were ALL brilliant actors!!

  • though we adore men individually, we agree that as a group they're rather stupid

  • @YmustTh3w0rldG0r0und jaja i love that part

  • @YmustTh3w0rldG0r0und yeah we can be stupid. lol

  • Hermione Baddley, the read head maid has a modern employer in Maude too! And Both Bea & Glynis are awsome altos!

  • yeah, she is so freaking hilarious on Maude, ended out as a maid again.lol but much more wild and drunken, haha, she looks so different

  • This must be the song that won over PL Travers.

  • What a husky but cheering voice! This must be the most recognizable role that Glynis Johns has played.

  • AMAZING Video good job for uploading it

  • this song is amazing

  • glynis johns was hot stuff!

  • In 2008, We had a state history fair. The theme I cant remember, but It was about the women's suffrage. And the end I had a collection of pictures while this song was playing. when i showed it to the judges, the laughed and smiled at me. I went all the way to state! From 6th grade class room to utah state. Wow such a journey.

    WELL DONE Sister Suffragette!

  • i always get a visual of this whenever I have a class talking about this

  • Love Glynis!!!!

  • Well, one of the hardest things for her was to be a political activist while still being a model wife. Poor dear's still a bit of a pansy though.

  • This song is just the best. "Though we adore men individually, we agree that as a group they're rather stupid." -- Too funny!

I do miss the bits later on that reveal Mrs. Banks hasn't quite taken women's rights fully to heart, such as when she asks one of the maids to put the sashs away saying, "You know how the cause infuriates Mr. Banks."
