ok, it is like a great friendship....when you are comfortable with those you love....you can evolve in the raw...in front of them without fear of judgement....and our girl is comfortable with all things ani, and I see this as a trust that she put something out there in its infancy and believe we will know her enough to get it.....some of my favorite ani songs are the one's she has just begun, wait till you hear albacore.
For all the people who seem to be put off by this song or think that it's about religion you should listen to the words "if I were Darwin's girlfriend I would whisper in his ear that I think we need a new bible, one with only two words...Mother Earth" she is referring to a Divine understanding of our interconnectedness to everyone and everything-not religion. I'm grateful she has the courage to share her raw material with confidence and to take chances. That's what true artistry is all about.
Well, maybe a little awkward and the message forced around convienant words. But, obviously, still an evolving song, i am sure it will become something very Ani.
Uhm, Ani, remember when i asked you for more protest songs and fewer happy songs? Well, this isn't what I meant. ::sigh:: I guess I need to go buy a Che tshirt for the next Ani concert.

I was at the show and it was amazing! even the "banjo" she was perfect!
