  • Well, plenty of doctors opt out of the private insurer's plans, and most private ensurers limit you to in-network providers and won't give you any choice unless you pay a great deal more. So if you change jobs or your employer switches plans, you may not be able to keep your doctor, OR afford the new rates. And again, the bill does NOT cover illegal aliens. But part of the soaring costs of healthcare comes from uninsured immigrants waiting to get health care until they are gravely ill or injured

  • Actually the bill does cover illegal aliens. It says so on page 55. Also if you give up or lose your insurance you must sign up for thepublic option. You have no choice of companies. If you dont believe me then read it for yourself on page 16.

  • I don't know what copy of the bill you are looking at, but section 626 states that no benefits will be given to people who are unlawfully in the U.S. And private and public plans will be part of the exchange. The bill that DeGette voted against would have stopped ERs from giving any sort of emergency help to illegal immigrants if they had a heart attack or got into a car accident etc. and showed up at the ER.

  • She forgets to mention that doctors may 'opt out' of the public program. This means you may not be able to keep your doctor. Also it does cover illegal aliens. There was an ammendment that was proposed to specifically exclude illegal aliens. She and the rest of the democrats voted against it. Sh wants the bill to cover illegals!
