  • Cool to see your view of the storm from a different perspective. We intercepted the storm near Jerseyville, IL and chased it all the way to Hillsboro. We have video up

  • After reviewing radar (which I also didn't have, because I left in a rush and forgot my aircard), it turns out the storm in the video above is a second supercell that formed in Greene County and tracked southeast behind the long-track one. The other video I posted from this date is the first (long-track) supercell, though.

  • I wonder if that was the same cell I got by Macomb about 7pm. Very intense lightning.

  • No, this cell was farther south. It formed in Greene County, just behind the long-track cell that moved from around Kansas City into IL. That one crossed into IL in Pike County, continuing east through Jersey and Macoupin Counties.
