omg where did you get all these great vids?? i've been looking for them everywhere :P love this musical but i live in the UK so i can't get to see it :( xx
I've followed Green Day since the 90's, I grew up with them (or them with me, I'm a Gen X kid) they were the outcast of the rock move of the 90's and look at them now, they are the best rock band out there... the thing to see!!!
RENT is my favorite musical ever, and that's exactly what i think! the set and the charcters do have an eeirly similar apperance to those in RENT ( i saw a stage shot of john gallager and rebecca jones once, where they we in bed and the first thing i thought was 'is there a roger/ mimi sex scene i'm forgetting about...).
I've seen the broadway run several times, it's incredible. And I can justify the staging because Holiday is the number that Johnny and Tunny leave during... about halfway through they say goodbye to Will and get on the bus and go, the above footage shows right before they leave Will, he IS in the beginning of the number.
uhh you don't know what you're talking about. random staging? these videos are taken from their run at Berkeley Repetoire Theater. In THAT version, all three friends are together when Holiday comes along. Will left later...
@redsoxrokr Except not. Even in Berkeley, Will stayed home after Jesus of Suburbia. Plus, this video is clearly from the Broadway incarnation because Stark Sands is Tunny, not Matt Caplan.
@redsoxrokr Matt Caplan was the Berkley Rep. Tunny. That was Stark sands. this was filmed 2 weeks before the show opened. They probably hadn't made the the change with Will. That's why he was there.

I saw this a couple weeks ago, and i must say i came in with pretty low expectation even though John Gallagher Jr is my favorite actor ever. period.
However it totally BLEW ME AWAY one of the most amazing peices of theater that i have ever seen in my entire life. It is a crime that John wasnt nomminated for a Tony, his preformance (as always) in this is incredible
