I am biased because I am one of the leads in this movie, but we received very favorable comments from John Carpenter and Dick Warlock on this. Not trying to win you over, just an FYI!

Hector De La Rosa, who plays Snake in this, is probably the biggest Snake fan I've ever met and he worked very hard to capture the character without just imitating Kurt. That's probably why you think it's not exactly right - it isn't and not supposed to be! Good talking to you!

No, see, if you remember (at the end of Escape From LA) Snake shut down all the woulds tech. Now, by this time they've kinda got things going again, but now America isn't the superpower it was, and Texas has a chance of breaking away (do you buy that?) So, ok they'd have to have something other than nukes, since they'd already have to have the to be a threat, but they could work that out in the writting room. It's just a first draft.
