Back right before music turned into something other than music. I miss this kind of music on the radio, every week a new artist or song that you looked forward to...going up to Best Buy to buy new CDs for $12.99.
@fauxpromises Third Eye Blind was much more 90's. They were more ya know, post Nirvana. But I categorize them more in the Good Charlotte category-that is to say, more boy bandish than anything.
@MrBRENNON2132 Wrong. Nickleback has always sucked. Same with linkin Park. They aren't 90's bands at all. 90's bands are Nirrvana, Sublime, Primus, etc. Even Metallica wasn't really a 90's band....they were from the 80's. Please get your information correct before trolling.
Stroke 9 was more than a band. It was a stroke of genius. There is no equal to this band. They are unparalled in their genius. Their mastery of the subtletlies of melody and structure put shivers down my spine. When they wrote about the little back backpack, I truly grasped the commentary on the modern American man. I wish I could remove my ears so that this was the last thing I'd ever hear. Where is my reunion tour??
@thisisforyourob I didn't think anyone else shared my passion for Stroke Nine. Are you into Piebald? I saw them open for Stroke like, 15 years ago! That was a badass ahow, as you can probably imagine.
@ChrisFlipsAlot People who think music died after the 90's just quit listening to good music. There's plenty out there, including lots of the bands from the 90's and earlier.
@ApathySidecar Music died in 2003. I know. I watched fergie murder it myself. In the kitchen with a butcher knife. Seriously though, 1990-2003 to 2003 you did not have to hunt through mounds of trash to find enjoyable music. You were flooded with it. I guess we just took it for granted back then. Oh if we only knew then what we know now... we'd go back to the 80s and kill lady gaga's parents
@Offended83Shadow You couldn't possibly be more truth than that! Amen, man! It's tragic Miley Cyrus and fuckin Beiber sell out shows at 85 a pop, and I see Better Than Ezra charge 20 and only ten people show up. Bis said it best in "Eurodisco,": "A style is named and it's dead/There is no latest trend/I eat just what I'm fed, and I'm eating."
@Offended83Shadow I think that's more indicative of what the masses want and what big record companies are selling, not music as a whole. Local scenes have exploded that didn't exist before, internet exposure has made being a independent band/artist a totally viable option, and tons of new artist are exploring ideas that are wildly revolutionary as well as improving on old ones. Those who have abandoned radio and television to explore music on their own are well off as listeners.
@Offended83Shadow That said, while music as a whole is getting better, imo, there is also significantly shittier, or at least more heartless and over-produced waste out there. I don't think you necessarily have to hunt through it, you can just avoid it entirely. But it is amazing what studios have done in that respect. I actually think Justin Bieber was a talented kid who could sing and was still into Soul music, which was dying. Look what happened because record execs could make money..
I think that there is still good music/bands today, but the difference is that we have to find them, back then they would get more oportunities to be on the radio and tv.
1990's rock through 2005 was the best rock music ever! Now its mixed with stupid modern pop music. I am obsessed with old rock. I stick with this kinda rock, love stroke 9.
Born in 1990 and "One Time" was my first Stroke 9 song followed by "Kick Some Ass." Been hooked on Nasty Little Thoughts and Rip It Off ever since. Love this band with a passion.

I was born in 1981 and this was the music of my high school years. I miss the 90s! Ever since the year 2000 ended, music just hasn't been the same. While I was cleaning my basement today, I came across a case with about 50 of my favorite CDs from my teen years. Stroke 9 was in there. Feeling so nostalgic right now.

@NICKACHUNJ I wish people would be more specific when they post these things, music after 2000 is still good, popular music is however shit, there a still a lot of bands that don't suck ass that arn't being recognised.
@NICKACHUNJ I agree with you to an extent. This music was and still is the shit. But its pointless to say that today's music needs a reboot. The people of the 80's hated our 90's music. People of the 70's hated the 80's. The people who are really in to todays music dont understand the 90's music. Its generational and that's how it will always be. Now...off to some american hi-fi!
@dashofchutmeg Did I say this iwas the "pinnacle"? no. I do like this song though, as well as a ton of other 90's songs/bands.. Why are you watching it if they are so terrible...hmmm....wierd.

@Valor85 Born in 1986 here and I was thinking about 90's music and how much I miss alot of the artists from the 90's. Sadly, they are rejected by teens today because of the music that is being marketed to teens nowadays. :(
It was cool meeting the band... I was aboard the USS Carl Vinson CVN 70... I walked around with them, bullshitted n showed them a few things on the flight deck... was cool to see dudes with civilian clothes for a change... I rember the lead singer guy was rockin chucks n I was hella hatin lol...

@Valor85
Born in 92. Grew up in the late 90's, and I HATE TODAY'S MUSIC!!!
If only I were born before the 70's...

@Valor85 Born in 1986 here and I was thinking about 90's music and how much I miss alot of the artists from the 90's. Sadly, they are rejected by teens today because of the music that is being marketed to teens nowadays. :(

@corr14 Wow, really? I've never heard it on the radio. What area do you live in?
yoruketseki 1 year ago
@yoruketseki Philly. They play it on 104.5 pretty often, but I never hear it anywhere else.
corr14 1 year ago
@corr14 Ah, I've never heard it in Los Angeles or Washington DC. I wonder what other songs you guys get that we don't. Haha.
yoruketseki 1 year ago
@yoruketseki Ha yea but we still get the same 30 songs played over and over again. I guess this song was just one of them.

I love this song but MAN what a lame video. I know they prob didn't have a lot of money but a real idea is almost free.
