well it was not fake I watched the whole thing I was standing under the the B-52 wing .alt was set for nellis afb altitude ,so they say, but i remember a lick of flame out of the rear on the rotation to level flight, like it flamed out for a second then he punched out. it was right in front of me so not fake.I know because they confinscated all film and cameras. but so quiet you could hear a pin drop. shit happens
@John19182004 Those planes are for combat. Yes indeed. I totally agree with what you just said! Planes like F16 and Gripen are specially designed to be inbalanced because it is best suited for combat. It is dangerous to do such hasty stunts without proper speed and altitude. Those planes must have computer control systems to even out and balance all the time. Otherwise the plane crashes.
star craft " it was only an accident" .Wake up man, he has "just" broken a multi million dollars toy - if for you it's an honor to pilot like this, keep your honor for yourselves
I have read in many places that this was an error based on failure to correct to AGL from MSL but an F-16 Pilot told me that it was an engine failure right at the end at the bottom of the loop, resulting in not enough (any) power to pull through. Seems like an altitude error to me though, but what do I know?...
to be more precisely he ejected 0,8sec before hitting the ground. the guy works now in the pentagon.
he miscalculated the high needed for his stunt because of altitude or some weather specs..anyway he is ignorance because when seeing that you aren't gonna make it he maybe could try another manouvre?
No, he miscalculated his AGL (above ground level) by about 1000 ft or so, because he forgot to set his altimeter before takeoff. However he couldnt have performed another manuver the thunderbirds routine is very tightly scripted.
this was a clear and simple mistake coz he tried to pull a menuveur but he made a big mistake, "he was flyin too low to pull a menuveur" so he tryed to get the $20million aircraft from hitting the but he knew he wouldent so he ejected just in time. LUCKY
Its rediculious...if you watch the other videos of the same crash ppl are talking so much smack...I mean come on it was only an accidnet those men are hard working, dedicated, and highly trained. It is an honor to fly with the thunderbirds. I'd like to see THEM try the same manuver and see if they even come out alive!
You obviously have no respect for aviation. The pilot was probably more smarter than you and obviously more dedicated to his work than you could ever hope to be, considering he had the honor to fly with the thunderbirds.
It was a stunt doll

so your ignorance shows when you call him a dumbass
babolatt16 5 years ago
gextreme8 is right, the pilot isn't a dumbass if he gets to fly something that expensive. Besides it was only a block 25 F-16 no big deal...

thunderbirds!!! id rather fly for easyjet...
broth123 5 years ago
why call the pilot a dumbass, he must not be one to fly fighter jets and be able to fly for the thunderbirds, mistakes happens.
