sup dude. i just got 2 eclipse 10s 700 watt rms each powered by 2 alpine m6's 600rms each. so 1200 rms of bass. in my 06 bmw 5 series. had them facing to the back. bass was weaker then dick. car is so well sealed nothing came into cabin. cut rear deck and arm resr hole in back seat. got better but still not what i expected. flipped box around like urs firing foward thru armrest. louder but not hard hitting. sounds better for SQ filled box with polyfil made it puncy i might take that out.

Actually facing it to your trunk will just make them ugly rattle noises that sounds ugly and Facing it forward or up will deliver clear bass no rattles... If you have a small car drill a port hole so the bass can escape I have a SUV so its all good i dnt need a port hole it sound koo no rattles just clear bass that you can hear around the whole car none of that ugly trunk license plate rattle noises...

I don't get why you faced them backwards, it's going to hit just as hard, just the sound is going to go backwards, instead of forward. That means it's likely not the trunk rattling, but something probably above it.

Instead of facing them towards the front, do the proper thing and put sound dampener in your trunk. You can buy peal n seal at lowes for $15 a roll, 25 feet a roll, and do your whole trunk for around 30 dollars, which is not alot!! It does the same thing as dynamat, but it's less than half the cost!! :)

did u ever try aiming them toward the trunk? It might have them hit better. you still can pull down the seat for a lil more sound. I had a set of comps aiming at me and sounded okay but i swapped the position and they hit harder.

i tried that once. i will admit, they do hit harder. but with my car, the rattle inside the car also increased. but, with my old system, the box was a super slim, so i could turn it. back for show and tell, front for my enjoyment

Not to be a dick, but you want to turn your woofers to the trunk. Why? Because this creates almost another "box" for the sound to bounce through, making more echo, which results in more bass. It sounds kinda weird but it works. If you don't believe me at least try it

hmmm i dunno about that amp, ive heard some ppl having them hooked up to p2's, im not a pro but i dont know if it'll supply enough consistent power if you're gonna have two p2's. I went safe with a capacitor so my alternator wouldnt give out on me.

Your car is fine, depends on the battery you have running it, i bought myself a new battery before installing the subs. If youre really worried just buy a capacitor and it least it will tell you how much voltage the electronics in your car is drawing

Noobs.... Forward for SPL and transient response / to the rear for audible "loudness".

Sound pressure and "dB'z" is not always what sounds loudest to your ear. One the meter most trunk cars loose on average about 2-5dB by facing rearward.

the way i look at it, i have them turned aorund now...its loud and great that way, but ppl trun their heads cause the trunk makes so much damn noise its almost embarassing, regardless dynomat wouldnt help much on a ford....they are made of loose parts.
