  • Take away religion and the world is a LOT less screwed up.

  • I STILL do not understand that IF religion is true (or rather, if ONE religion is true - any one will do), then HOW is science and reason and rationality OPPOSED to it, seeing that GOD (assuming here that he DOES exist) is the creator, is all-knowing, and certainly understands a 'thing or two' about these things?

Point being: rationality and logic and all the rest are NOT the sole 'property' of atheism - IF religion is true/God exists.

  • @sotrder I suspect you infer what is not implied. Who are the many atheists talking that way?

  • @sotrder Then according to the facts presented... if religion ISN`T true, it CAUSES these sufferings.

  • @waycooltoo lots of things have caused suffering in the world. religion is one of many.

  • @sotrder Again... religion causes suffering. The fact that there are other pains in life make it none the less true. Also, if I could prove to you this video has presented factual statements (really easy to do), would you admit we have a dispute?

  • @sotrder Then(according to the facts presented) if religion ISN`T true, there is no god & religion causes these sufferings. So the question is... do you want to dispute these facts?

  • Checkout PROPHECIES-dot-ORG - Messages from The Most High God! Religion seperates you from God. You cant be good of yourself. The scriptures say our righteousness is as filthy rags before Him. You have to have a relationship with God and live the way of the Cross before Jesus. Each one must carry their own cross and crucify the [fallen] nature of the flesh - dense matter.

  • The matter of corrupt flesh must be purified constantly by obedience to God and asking Him to cleanse your spirit robe from blemish or any shade of grey [density]. You must believe in The Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to cleanse you of your sins that you may take on the purity of Jesus Christ and walk before The Heavenly Father in the righteousness of Christ.

  • What the fuck happened to letting people express who they are, I mean atheists do the same thing to theists as homophobic people do to gays.. all they do is try and act as if they were superior than the other which is not the case neither an atheist or a theist is better than one another so just stop the trolling and live your fucking life...

  • While I do believe in evolution and heavily doubt religion, I find this video to be completely devoid of objective thinking. For example, you state how other 1st-world countries have a lower teen pregnancy rate that the USA. Well, that's because they (smartly) use birth control more regularly and are more casual about abortion. Does that teens have sex any less? Likely not. It's also worth noting that a lot of Americans are only "Christian" by cultural identity and not devout by any stretch.

  • i loved this video!!! amazing great info and everything....please spread the good word!! that religion is BULLSHIT!!!!!!

  • why ur calling us holland!, holland is only 2 of teh 12 states of our country! we are the netherlands!

  • I am too ethical, too truthful and too intelligent to be any kind of monotheist.

  • As South parks chapter said: Americas Says Something and do something else that rules America! the most democratic country in the world...if you don´t think that probabily you are a terrorists oh! =)

  • I think this is partial true. It puts too much emphasis on religion as being the cause of all bad or all good. In reality is education that makes all the difference. In other words the more educated people are the less likely that religion, or other forms of believe. Now just show education stats on those same countries and you will see the same or even better correlation.

  • Considering "sexual behaviour" as a way to determine morality is a nonsense. I know that this is how religious people reason, but I think you should state somewhere that there cannot be something immoral when no one is harmed.

  • @GiovanniFontana There are a lot of abortions with teen pregnancy. I don't know what sexual behaviour you were referring to, but I thought I should mention that.

  • Considering "sexual behaviour" as a way to determine morality is a nonsense. I know that this is how religious people reason, but I think you should state somewhere that there cannot be something immoral when anyone is harmed.

  • Religion provides weak justification for doing some really bad things. That is the real harm that religion causes.

  • Religion provides weak justification for doing some really bad things. That is the real harm that religion caues.

  • the worlds problem is that every person believes that they are right and everyone should believe what they want. If people just looked past others beliefs and accept them, the world would be so much better. You wouldn`t have people spreading hate like fags will burn, and sinners need to repent. Im an athiest, none of my friends are athiests, but i dont care. I dont try to convert my friends, they accept my beliefs, and i accept theirs. Their would be so much less hate and crime if people realizd

  • Many studies have found a correlation between Christianity and feeblemindedness. Unfortunately, most people and even psychologists assume therefore that Christianity cures feeblemindedness. This is a mistake. There are more lines of evidence indicating that it is more likely that Christianity causes feeblemindedness.

  • The first christian I met was 9 years old and was having sex with his father; I was 9 also so I didn't get it. The next christian I met was a drug dealer. I have known christians who were murders, child molesters, thieves, liars, swindlers etc. This is why I don't trust christians.

  • well where do these morals you speak of come from if not from God? a belief in God does not guarantee morals, for there are many who believe in God but do not live for Him. Hence is where immortality comes from. We live in a back-sliding country, it wasn't always this way. The more people try to take away God the worse the country gets. You can see it over the past several 100's of years.

  • @Baby6att You didn't even watch the video above, did you? After you saw the first thing that put a nice dent in your sanctimoneous, self-righteous religious armour, you shut off the rest of the video and your ability to reason and instead made your comment above to protect your absurdity..

  • @Baby6att Human societies established law codes that predate the Bible and Chrisitanity. Matter of fact, these law codes were established by polytheistic societies that knew nothing of the Christian god. The fact that these law codes were developed proves a desire to establish moral standards. So stop trying to convince people that morals come from your god!!

  • @Baby6att So why do all the non-believing countries kill more?

  • @Qermaq why do non-believing countries kill more?? if they're non believing then they have no God, no morals, so they don't see any wrong.

  • @Baby6att 1. I lied 2. You are a moron to have watched and believed me. 3. You are a moron to have believed anyone.

  • @Qermaq you asked a question and i answered, nothing moronic there. the only thing that is, is your inability to listen and that you result in name calling as a form of trying to sound like you're better than me. good job.

  • dude you say its impossible to believe in god and accept evolution, its perfectly possible to believe in a god who made a world with evolution. the irony is that the morally superior "holier than thou" attitude that you mention in the video is a key thing the new testament opposes. its not religion that's the problem its human beings, some have taken a message of love and compassion and lost their way.

  • @GreedySupperFast What is important is not what the Bible says, but whether or not it contains the dictated words of a supernatural being. Can anyone prove it has ties to an all powerfull being!!

  • One point the clip is the role a twisted form of Religion lead the US to back Israel no matter what.

  • To paraphrase Lincoln I do good I feel good, I do bad I feel bad that is all the Religion I need

  • it's not atheism nor christianity that makes you a better person, it is education and logical reasoning which does that, but I'll go even further and say that it is education which results in a person becoming an Atheist or at the very least an Agnostic. I very much like this video, people may have different opinions on it, but the truth is, religion is still a dangerous thing because instead of looking at reality, they prefer to have "faith" in something rather than look for answers

  • There are stupid shalow narrow minded brain washed people every where arround the world, but there are some tipical American categories, like : Red neck, white trash, hill Billy.....or with one word : ''Jerry Springer'' americans. Thanks to people like Bill Maher you can fight the generalization like ''those americans'' People who say ''those atheists'' are for me ''those americans''

  • Offcourse it can be more complexed and it doesn't mean it's the reason. Maybe religion is a side effect of other things ( political,economical,geographical,historical...etc.) But The Fact is: that many Eu countries with majority of Atheists are better in helth, lower crime, suicide, unemployment, teen pragnancy...etc. Religion is a form of (organised)superstition and US culture is a breeding ground where it can thrive.

  • While Japan may have the benefits of a safer nation and one with less teenage pregnancies, it is also a nation with a TON of adultery and one with a TON of suicide. There are "good" and "bad" in every society. When we look only for the good in nations and the bad in others, it is very easy to look at one thing as the cause to blame. Religion isn't the cause of people being immoral or bad; people are. People will always be as such and will use whatever they want as a crutch for that reason.

  • I need to know the name of this song!

  • You're missing the connection. You're blaming immorality on religiousness, but that's not the connection. Both of those things share a commonality, and that commonality is the genesis of both things, but immorality does not come from religion and religion doesn't come from immorality.

    They both come from stupidity.

  • @SnarkLicker

True. Plenty of moderate christians, jews and muslims live in harmony together without a care what the other believes in.

But "moderates" just prove: that the less you take from your religion, the better.

  • being an atheist in america is like being a black person drinking from a water fountain labeled white in the 1950s, people try to tell you, that you are wrong & breaking rules, when in reality, you know it's bullshit.

  • The author of this video needs to learn the difference between a correlation and a cause.

  • where did Morals come from? If there is Moral Law isn't there a Moral Law Giver?

  • @sirsaint88 No. Morals (a set of behavior that is benificial to a group of beings.) can evolve quite happily on its own.

  • No, No. No. I would say Crime.

  • This is true but if one is religious in the right way, in an existential way then you won't see as many problems developed by religions.

  • @cliffordeberhardt True--a good religion leads to good things. The problem is, most major religions have mixed teachings of good 'and' bad in their doctrine.

Christianity's so easy to attack these days cause people like the KKK parade through the streets, citing bible quotes.

So, obviously, we should try and get the churches to stop teaching those 'particular' bits, right? :P

It's not easy to say one side's doing religion 'wrong' if every church is reading the same book, y'know? We should fix it

  • @jaieet Well see I'm saying there really isn't a wrong way to do religion unless it is dogmatic. The Bible shouldn't be a book of facts about God. It should be a book that speaks to everyone individually about God if they believe in a God.

  • What is the name of this song? It's brilliant.

  • Also! EVERYONE makes mistakes

    NO ONE is perfect

It has nothing to do with what religion you are

  • @OmgItzPJ religion doesn't make it better however.

  • @sabertooth1980 neither does ATHIESM which is what this whole video is saying. this vid makes it seem like athiests are better ppl than christians.

  • @OmgItzPJ Lacking the belief in gods doesn't make you a better person. I can agree with that.

Of course... People don't do things in the name of something they -don't- believe in.

People -will- do crazy things in the Name of a belief however.

And there are some crazy beliefs out there.

That's why Ideas are better. Ideas can Change. Ideas can set off a chain reaction in which people learn and become better.

Beliefs.. people will kill in the name of a belief. With or Without a god to back it up.

  • @OmgItzPJ And putting atheism in all caps doesn't bring any point to the table. It just says that you don't like people who don't believe in your god.

Just wondering, do you believe in Allah? Thor? Apollo? Zeus? Bastet? Wotan? Dana?

If not... Then you're an atheist too.

  • @sabertooth1980 i'm not an athiest. obviously. duh. do i even have to put that?

anyway. i believe in Jehovah (aka Yaweh, The GOD mentioned in the pledge of allegiance)

and i am quite fond of ppl who dont believe in God. you dont know me so you cant even say that(: just because i dont like someones beliefs doesnt mean i dont like them as a person.

one of my favorite ppl on this earth is a muslim so yeah..

  • @OmgItzPJ You mean the god put into the pledge of allegiance. You know back in 1954? Got to love wikipedia. Citing sources and the like.

Anyway, good for you in believing in your choice of belief.

    However.

Your belief in this particular brand of god doesn't make you a better person. Only you can make you a better person. It is however much easier to be a better person with out the artificial construct of a god interfering with your rational thought process.

  • @sabertooth1980 you do know wikipedia isnt a reliable source of information? most schools dont allow it to be used when writing reports fwi.

so, anyway, wouldn't it be easier to be a better person with a moral guide? as in some sort of moral law to abide by?

  • @OmgItzPJ Good for your argument from authority. You do know that is a form of logical fallacy right?

No. No it wouldn't. A "moral guide" stops you from doing something. Something that in a normal situations you would be forced to do. Something that people like doctors and nurses and others who "face death" have to do on a daily basis.

    Think.

  • @OmgItzPJ Let's say you are one of those doctors or nurses or Medics or the like and you are faced with an ER full of dying people. Chocked full. Crammed full, bodies keep coming in. What's worse, the power it on the brink blipping in and out, guess what it gets even worse. the whole of the ER is flooded and there are people that if you don't do anything about they are going to die slow and painful deaths.

  • @OmgItzPJ What. Do. You. Do?

Do you follow those "moral guides" you hold so dear, or do you do the right thing and do what your job is by elevating suffering as by the oath you took?

Now I'll take your head out of the clouds about this. This situation actually happened.

    Hurricane Katrina.

You know how most of the patients died? Morphine overdose given to them by the doctors, nurses and others.

We are guided by our empathy and reason. For the majority of people those things work.

  • @sabertooth1980 have you read the ten commandments? thats what i do.

  • @OmgItzPJ Yes. Yes I have. Most atheists have been of a religion in their younger years. And thus have been made to read the bible. Along with the ten commandments.

Half of which are god saying "I'm insecure and you need to bow and kiss my feet"

Whiles the other five are somewhat redundant and almost common sense.

Hell, they don't have to be handed down from on high to come about. They could have easily come about through natural means.

However again. Yes. Yes I have.

  • @sabertooth1980 out of curiosity. why do u reject religion?

  • @OmgItzPJ Lack of evidence for the existence of a god. That is one of the primary reasons. Course this in of itself came out of "If I am a good person then that should be good enough for any "gawd" out there that is all good." which boiled down to "If there is something after this and I am good great. If there isn't something after this and I am good, then I have lived a good life." which after a while I realized something. Why believe if the result for both lives is the same?

  • I am a Christian and I don't think religion makes me anybetter than the next person.

So, i dont get the point of this.

  • Being a true Christian means that Christ will be glorified NOT THE PERSON and Christ is perfect in every way. Religion and free-will and a person's own beliefs is the problem. The Holy Bible is the Truth but Religion and Human Freedom Will Always Pervert and Corrupt The True Gospel. Religion is a terrible word because it can mean so many things and so many different beliefs.

  • The Bible allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). The list goes on and on.

The Old Testament is no longer in effect some might say. Perhaps they should read where Jesus makes it clear:"It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)

    The true Gospel? HA

  • God does not support slavery/child abuse or the killing of children. Psalms was written by the Psalmist. The context is of Babylonian captivity. It speaks of captors tormenting God's people, a promise to remember Jerusalem, and a curse against the captors. The Psalmist is in exile and probably witnessed the atrocities committed against his people, babies included. In the revenge-style that was so common at the time, he wishes the same upon his enemy as a description of their utter destruction.

  • Being "moral" simply depends on the type of individual you are, not what group you are a part of. There will always be moral and immoral atheists, and there will always be moral and immoral theists.

I used to be a Catholic, but I now identify myself as an agnostic. The quality and outlook of my life has not significantly changed for better or worse during and after that transition. Why? Because I'm basically still the same person underneath my system of beliefs (or lack of them).

  • @WVJimbo I guess this would be true if muslims didn't kill people that don't believe what their "group" believes or if the Catholics didn't preach against condom use or if the people of the Followers of Christ didn't let their kids die because going to the doctor shows a lack of faith in god or..,I could go on and on.

  • @lokimagic Like I said, it depends on the individual... Do you honestly believe ALL muslims kill everyone that isn't a part of their faith?

  • @WVJimbo Of course not all but the ones that do kill for what they believe in do it beause of their faith in their god. Yeah, some people let their common sense take over and wont follow to an extreme and then you have the Westboro church members. I wonder if when you were a Catholic did you think being gay was sin or that condom use was wrong. I wonder how do you see those same issues now as an Agnostic...considering you're basically the same person underneath your system of beliefs.

  • @lokimagic I don't think I gave issues like those as much thought as I do now, but I don't have a problem with gay marriage now and I never did back then (and I have a few friends who are currently actively Catholic that have no problem with gay marriage either). So I guess when it comes to positions on issues, I am still the same person I used to be.

  • No, it doesn't

  • holland is not that moral and dont blame god for a countries immorality

  • This is an amazingly misleading video. I guess this means religious people have more sex than non religous countries ... sign me up! These misrepresentations of the facts are far more harmful than the video depicts religion to be. Show me an atheist group that I can contribute to thats giving aid to Haitii and Ill buy into this BS. Until then try not hating so much

  • @mmac382

    search 'non-believers giving aid'

  • religion in general doesn't help in fact hurts in most cases because they don't teach the truth of the Bible!

Mix paganism in with hoildays and then just don't care about Gods standpoint on it.

HOWEVER true religion does make and adhearing to the Bible TRUTHS DOES MAKE ONE A BETTER PERSON!

  • I guess Im either going to japan or germany or britain or or HOLLAND!!! hahahaha LOL I love this video!!!

  • where did this guy or gal get his or her statistics? they're wrong

  • Religion stands to make you a better person, if walking into a garage stands to make you into a car.

  • Religion only enslaves people, makes them narrow minded. It doesn't allow you growth in knowing God and behaving like his sons example.

  • ok, change of pace..... what's the music? thanks.

  • Religion doesn`t change anything.

  • You're preaching to the choir. A Christian wouldn't wrap his brain around this if he could.

  • And Saudi Arabia has lower crime rates and lower teen pregnancy rates than all of the countries you mentioned, which proves that Saudi Arabians are not religious, and they probably all secretly believe evolution! Professor Foolio awards you an "A" for logic and reasoning!

  • @ProfessorFoolio look up shiria law and then say Saudi Arabia is moral. Seriously. If you think they are moral then you condone rape, murder, bigotry, and itemizing women.

  • Professor Foolio was only using the definition of "morality" suggested by the atheist: low crime rate and low teen pregnancy. The atheist has to tell us what they imagine to be moral on a case-by-case basis, because they each make up their own definition of "morality" to suit their own individual tastes. All I did was agree with both his definition and his theory: religious societies are less moral. (apparently you agree)I concluded, therefore, that Saudi Arabians were not actually religious.

  • LOL!!!! you are an crazy ass,...All Arab Countries (Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq ,Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic,Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, ...

are the most dangerous religious freaks on this entire planed!! hope the will blow themself's ALL up..

ps ...Religious people are scary dumb losers.

  • I think you are proving Professor Foolio's point that there is no positive correlation between the religiosity of a country and its "crime rate." In order to provide an interesting statistic, one needs to compare the number of people who worship God in a given country's prisons with the number who don't believe or who more directly serve Satan.

  • Excellent video!! Just wished I could figure out a way to get this across to some of my "believing" friends!!

  • yea me 2, but don't worry Religion is a dying breed...

  • Who's to say that non-religious people do not have morals and values just like religious people? Who's to say that atheists aren't passionate!?

  • where did you get these statistics? (i can only use this video as an aid in my arguments if it is credible)

  • Correction, ginkiba: This debate would be pointless if certain members of the Theistic majority were capable of agreeing with your statement and keeping their supernatural beliefs to themselves. Problem is, they don't care about decency, compassion and responsibility. Only blind faith matters to them, and they are hellbent on enforcing it to whatever length they can get away with. As long as there is a dominionist movement in America or anywhere, this debate is definitely not pointless.

  • Being an Atheist or a Theist doesn't make you a better person.

Being a decent, compassionate and responsible human being does.

    This debate is pointless.

  • @ginkiba3 it would seem that this is a pointless debate but some theists, muslims for example, who can be caring and responsible one minute, will kill you for something as simple making a drawing of their prophet the next minute.

  • @lokimagic Ah Mohammed day. That was fun to watch no?

Islam is based on the same thing Judaism is, bronze age beliefs of a wandering tribe consisting of shepherds and marauders. Most muslims I've meet are surprisingly ambivalent about depicting Mohammed, but from what I've seen this isn't much of a majority.

  • @ginkiba3 Yes but arguably, religious families enforce strict codes of behaviour on their children, which, depending on the personality of the child, can easily just cause said child to want to rebel. In other words, you're right, but not necessarily entirely right.

  • @azimuth457 That is true, but there are non-religious families that do the same thing regardless for either social or political reasons. Besides if the kid rebels isn't that a good thing? Not in a legal sense obviously, but in a spiritual sense, finds his/her own way?

  • @ginkiba3 I'm not saying it's a bad thing for the person to rebel and find their own way, and in fact I encourage it.

It's just my personal belief that religion is full of false promises and threats, which do nothing to nourish a child's understanding of what morality should be, and what being a good person is really about. I feel like if more people were raised without threats or false promises like that, and instead understood better why one should be a good person, they wouldn't need to rebel

  • @azimuth457 Right on that, I hate it on how people are coerced into a religion because of threats or promises, especially when it involves kids since I feels that people should believe in what works best, even though being good for the sake of goodness should be common sense to everyone though regardless on what you believe in or lack thereof, I agree with you completely.

  • Norway is a godless country? YESSSS!!! WE ARE BRILLIANT! xD

  • isnt amsterdam in Holland? not one of the most moral places.

  • Nice to see someone pointing out the truth about Americans. I hope they will listen and see the error of their ways.

The rest of the world is standing back in open mouthed disbelief at the mega power who can't mind its own business, who talks about freedom but tramples on others constantly.

War after war after war started by God loving Americans and all of them turn out to be bad ideas... Korea, Vietnam, Iraq.

The 1 war they SHOULD have been in took Pearl Harbour to focus their attention.

  • Religion does NOT make you a better person.

Only Gods grace bestowed on the sinner is able to do that and many times established and institutionalized churches just form stumbling blocks for the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ was crucified on the instingnation and by the intrigues of very religious priests and pharizees

  • Comment removed

  • (cont'd): Sorry, last comment: I don't hear a lot of atheists trying to excuse Stalin or Mao. We hate those bastards, and are with you in condemning their unparalleled atrocities. But chances are, if you're Catholic or Protestant, you have fewer degrees of separation to Nazism, Fascism or Communism than the average atheist! ... The problem is, Christians ARE trying to make excuses for the Bible, and they try to rationalize or downplay religious atrocities, which only perpetuates the problem.

  • (cont'd): The point here is that DOGMA IS BAD. All faith-based religions fall under the umbrella of dogma, as do Stalinism, Maoism, Kim Jong-Il, etc). Atheism is, by definition, the absence of religious dogma. Would you honestly believe that being an "non-astrologer" is a dogma? Maybe THAT'S why Stalin was so evil: He didn't have faith in the zodiac! .. As an atheist, I have no loyalty to the Communist Manifesto. Christians are loyal to the Bible, or at least some jumbled interpretation of it.

  • dirk: Stalinists and Maoists did not kill in the name of atheism. They killed in the name of Stalin and Mao. Hitler's hatred of Jews was fomented by Christian anti-Semitism. He promoted Catholicism and Protestantism in Germany; the Catholic Church made treaties with him and celebrated his birthday. After the war, they helped Nazi war criminals escape to sympathetic South American fascist countries. It IS religion (or in the case of Stalin/Mao, a similar irrational dogma) that leads to atrocity.

  • thank you for this video

  • Hitler a Catholic?

Firstly, that doesn't address the other (much bigger genocides), but secondly, he was raised a Catholic, and left the church.

Socialism is usually not associated w/ Christianity, nor what his (socialist) movement.

He made some references to religion, but most were to Paganism.

Furthermore, AH hated Jews and really didn't like Christians for their 'meekness'.

My comment was not to attack atheism, but to show that it's not religion that leads to these atrocities.

  • Hitler never left the catholic church. He was a christian through and through. Also: To confuse Nationalsocialism with Socialism is a idiotic mistake commited only in the US of A. Nazis never have been Socialists. The hated Socialist so much they killed hundredthousands of them in concentration camps.

  • No, Hitler was Catholic! And he didn't kill those people in the name of Atheism!

Count how many people God supposedly killed in the Bible!

  • Religion is for people who are too damn stupid to even realize that they are stupid.

  • This analysis is weak at the very least;

Firstly, Japan is NOT a moral country. If you look at the mass murders happened during wars, yet the JP gov't still pays homage to their heroes - criminals of war. I would suggest to amongst some Asians, or go to Asia and learn about JP... Any not-JP Asian can tell you.

  • The correlation between religiosity and lack of intelligence is very clear and undeniable.

Religious people think their particular version of invisible space monster and stupid-fuck stories is true but that of course all the others are wrong. Religious people have the attitude that it is okay to believe ridiculous crap despite complete lack of evidence. This is really bad. Some fly into buildings. Many cut off pieces of genitals. A lot of bad shit results from religious abuse of the brain.

  • Japan is religious. Buddhism and Shintoism don't include "God," but they are still religions.

    Go die.

  • Christianity promotes intolerance, ignorance, lack of free will and living in fear. I converted to Wicca, and find it very liberating and hamonious.

  • so you trade one religion for another?

  • Yeah. In essence, I believe that our intelligence gives us a unique RESPONSIBILITY to our environment. I don't believe in any other philosophy that preaches that what we do is completely outside of our control. Wicca, on the other hand, clearly points out that we have complete control over what we do and how we think.

  • existentialism is a philosophy based on taking responsibility for who we are, and that our beings are defined by the choices we make. furthermore; it's not a religion. :-)

  • Hey, I did some research on the existentialism philosophy and most of the ideas coincide with that of the Wiccan religion. Thanks for opening up my mind. Even though I will accept and apply that philosophy, personally, I still believe intrinsically that there are metaphysical forces that we can tap into to make the world a little better or to help us. :-)

  • many existentialists share your belief. kierkegard is one of them. you may enjoy his philosophical works. i prefer jean-paul sartre.

  • I don't believe in any sort of religion I find it's very liberating and harmonious...

"people don't need to be born again they need to grow up"

  • What do you mean by what that?

  • i'm joking I'm an atheist and you sad it felt liberating to be Wicca

  • Weird how you did not include sweden in the calculation where almost everyone accepts evolution and 85% are nontheists :)

Anyways, religion is for the weak willed!

  • I don't really see too much value in videos like this. There are so many variables that make a nation. Why do ppl follow narrow paths. I'm gay and that defines me or I'm christian and that defines me or I'm islamic and that kills you. If i'm the only one in a suit at woodstock does that make me a conformist?

  • Learn how japan's prison system is run compared to america's. No wonder american criminals don't care about going to prison. It's kinda sad to see hundreds of big tattooed(?) yakuza men spend 12hrs 7days a week sewing clothes. There is no talking, no toilet breaks. Everything is done to a very strict timetable. 10yrs and I would go insane and pay to be killed.

  • .....AND PWNT ! :D

  • My God is the loving God that I pray to with my christian and orthodox brothers and sisters.

You insult me because you can do nothing more.

And you are quoting from ME ! YAY ! Did I make a point ? ;) You forgot in the quote that I point out that your "God doesn't", but you do that every time with the Bible so why did I expect any different ?

And I said that to prove you that what you want ISNT happening. You want everyone DEAD NOW but we are still here so...in the end, you are still wrong ^^

  • I don't have any advice for my God, and I know that anyone still has a chance to be saved. I am surprised your God (aka Freddy) didn't turn the planet into a lifeless wasteland already...

  • I think you are the funny one, insulting all that don't share the same twisted opinion that Freddy imprinted in your mind. Every christian respects other people, even their own ennemies. LOL and my head (not ass) thinks that since you're a little cult, we don't share the same God, even if you claim to be christian.

  • LOL was that an insult ? XD

And no, you are not answering the question, as well as the previous one. There is NO link between how religious a country is and criminality and teen pregnancy. They are totally distinguished social aspects. I think that your God should instead smite the Godless people like Japan with your so called baby eating but he doesn't. Which only proves that your argument is a useless here....

  • Your are still NOT answering the question brotcapo, as usual. *sigh*

Read the first book of the Bible and ask yourself THIS : could the Genesis be a metaphorical passage to explain to people who lived thousands of years before us what we can see in outer space ? ;)

  • Calling people names is very unchristian. How many times do I have to tell you? You are never going to get any message across to people that way. You are driving people away from God instead of towards him. When are you ever going to learn?

  • In order to win people over we must be friendly with them. The world is referring to the world system and not to people in general. By showing a good example and love towards everybody, we go a long way towards bringing them around to the fact that God loves them and wants them to follow him.

  • Um...I fail to see how Criminality, Teen Pregnancy and Religion are LINKED. It's extrapoling social facts. The first two depend more on Legislation of fire arms, Corruption, Law of a country, the social condition of the country, it's sexual campaigns, it's condoms campaigns, it's regime, etc....These facts are however true, but where do you see a link between them ?

  • Wow, here's yet another way you can tell religion is nothing but lies, when 2 people in the same religion can't even get their stories straight. Although at least one is preaching a more heartfelt message, which I actually respect. brotcapo is nothing more than a bigot who deserves nothing less than a slow painful execution at the hands of the very people he so loudly persecutes.

  • If you will look down the page a bit you will find my message where I encourage critical thinking and not just believing everything some so called religious person tells you. Thanks for your support. I understand your plight as people like brotcapo can get under your skin at times.

  • I must admit, you my friend, are one of the good ones.

  • The truth is lawyers can come up with different interpretations of the law & not always agree. Not all court decisions are unanimous either. The reason is we are human & fallible & I will be the first to admit it. That's why it's important to study & think critically before accepting anything as gospel truth. The crowd laughed at Thomas Edison & the electric light but thank goodness old Tom didn't listen to the crowd & for that we can be thankful that we can get light by flipping a switch.

  • He's not a simpleton but instead a person who uses the brains God has given him and thinks for himself instead of letting others do the thinking for him. That's the sign of a wise person.

  • I've been saved for 60 years, longer than you've been on this earth. The mark of a false cult is when critical thinking is discouraged rather than encouraged. God has given us brains and expects us to use them. Something is wrong when we start thinking everyone is out of step except us. We can't go around thinking we're better than others because we have all missed the mark. We must ask God to be merciful to us sinners like the publican did and stop acting like the self righteous pharisee.

  • But ALL religions discourage rational critical thought, and if you knew the history of christianity, it started as a cult of murderers and bigots who would simultaneously go to different places and say the same thing just happened to them (i.e. a man walked on water, food fell from the sky and saved them) outside of the city they migrated to, then kill anyone who challenged that this happened, that is how the first members of this "religion" were recruited, by murdering polytheists

  • Religion doesn't make good people, exactly the opposite is true, it turns you into a bigoted hypocrite. Religion is responsible for 99% of all the violence and hatred in the history of mankind.

  • Unfortunately some so called religions produce bigots and hypocrites. When you truly know Jesus Christ and live for him, you will develop a love for everybody. The reason you don't see it in so many who name his name is the fact that they give him lip service but their hearts are far from him. God is Love and when you truly know him, His love will radiate from you. This I know.

  • Or get even smarter, get educated!

  • You are absolutely correct. We all need to get educated and learn how to think critically so that we will not be enslaved by false religious cults. It's important that we think about others and not just about ourselves like these religious people who think everyone is out of step except them. We have all missed the mark at one time or the other and need to remember this so that we will be humble and not judgemental of others.

  • The only way our neighbours are going to turn from sin is our showing them by example that Jesus Christ has truly made a difference in our lives. That way we open them up so that God's Spirit can draw them to him. Going around throwing stones, calling names and acting in an obnoxious manner only hinders God's Spirit from doing the job of drawing. God is Love and if we are going to win people over we must do likewise and let the Love of God radiate from our hearts. It will work if we let it.

  • Calling people names is very unchristian. We have all sinned and missed the mark so none of us has any business calling someone a sinner. We have a long way to go until we reach that state of sinless perfection which will never be on this earth. Each and every day I must be humble and tell God to be merciful to me a sinner and to forgive those who have sinned against me. That's what God wants me to do and so I will continue to do it until God calls me home.

  • I have Jesus living in my heart and he has told me to do unto others as I would have them do unto me.That's in God's Word. Showing kindness to everybody is a Christian responsibility. Everybody even includes my enemies as loving my enemies and doing good unto them is also a command from Jesus for me. Showing love and kindness is a great way to bring people around to the Truth and that is exactly what I am doing and will continue to do.

  • Helping others whether they believe or not isn't trying to earn righteousness, it's a way of thanking God for making us righteous because of what Jesus did for us. God is no respecter of persons & neither are we to be. We have a responsibility to help others & not worry about what they believe. God will get through to everyone eventually & he does the saving, not us. We are merely to plant the seed so that God can eventually finish the job. Everyone will make it, most just don't know it yet.

  • When the Kingdom of God is truly working within you, you don't need any Scripture to tell you you should think about helping others regardless of what they believe, you just know it. Remember Jesus revealed himself to the woman at the well even though she was a Samaritan, several times divorced, living common law & female, something no Pharisee would have ever done.God wants us to take care of this earth, contribute to it & has given us the ability to do it. We are to be faithful stewards.

  • The problem with people like you brotcapo is the truth hurts and when confronted with it, you can't handle it so you resort to name calling and making excuses instead of doing the noble thing and facing up to it.

  • The Kingdom of God is not up there in the sky but is within us. That means we have a reason the improve society because we are now equipped to do so. Saying that we are not here to improve society is a copout & an excuse to sit back & let everything go to pot while we count off the time until we get raptured out of here. Jesus would never had told the rich young ruler to sell everything & give to the poor & Paul would have never told us to care for widows & orphans unless they meant it.

  • I never knew that having babies was immoral.........

  • Paul dramatically abrogated the Torah, by claiming that justification was achieved by faith in Jesus Christ alone. He claimed that through the body of Christ, believers had died to the Jewish Law. Furthermore, Paul claimed that if justification was achieved through the Law, then Christ died for nothing. You see? Paul started a NEW RELIGION that rejected the Torah, in other words, rejected Judaism. Jesus did not reject Judaism, he urged his followers to uphold the Law. You've ignored jesus' words

  • It's no use, brotcapo is just a bigoted bastard who needs to be shown how much he really doesn't deserve the life he's been given

  • Bro that's a straw man argument. God is no respecter of persons and is going to draw everyone to him. If Christianity doesn't improve society, it has failed. But God is not a failure so perhaps the Christianity you are promoting is not the Christianity of the Bible. Perhaps the nations that don't put a big emphasis on Christianity but have lower crime rates and fewer old of wedlock pregnancies among other things than the USA have discovered the real truth.

  • No. You show complete and utter ignorance of Christianity, by believing it was founded by Jesus, when it was really Paul. Christianity was Paul's religion, Jesus was a Jewish teacher, and upheld the Torah. He never intended anybody to leave the Jewish faith. Paul saw to that. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT YOU HYPROCRITE.

  • this is a punch in the facve to people who think christianity or any religion is more morally adept then science, I LOVE it

  • Obviously religion isn't directly related to how "good" a person/country is. Religion isn't meant to be a behavioral system, it's a belief system.
