@tunwilk Wathever ain't a B-side, it's the A-side of a stand-alone single that went out between Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory, in 1994, with (It's Good) To Be Free as a B-side. :)
Noel is truly talented. Shame on Liam for ditching his bro at an important gig but it's challenges like this that bring out the best in a person and Noel totally proved himself at this gig!
seen the rehearsals for Liam Gallagher doing this, and although Noel Gallagher done a great job, would loved to have seen Liams take coz lets be honest, it was his fucking duty to do this, shame is, he wouldnt be as vocally capbable these days listening to his vocals now and Mtv Unplugged rehearsals then, shame as he could have gave Kurt Cobain a run for his money as one the best if not the best Mtv Unplugged performance I and most folk have heard.
What I love about Noel's song writing is that his songs stand the test of time. His B-Sides not even talking about his singles or albums... his B-Sides are ridiculously so much better than the shit we have out today. This isn't his biggest hit and it beats most songs out today. Just proves that these songs don't have a time on their life and shows what a true Genius and amazing songwriter he is. Noel Gallagher = God.
@BrotherHoodUtd - Because it's true. Name one band since them that have been even close to how good they were and have made an impact like they did? Cock.
@Atarigeek You're soooooo right. The different thing between Oasis and other bands is this one: Noel wrote these b-sides which were AMAZING. Think about "The Masterplan", which is probably one of their best songs, or "Talk tonight"...Well they were great!
@Atarigeek it's my fav song too! This one was one of the better songs of oasis ever created. The recored version is awesome. But i prefer the acoustic version from 2005-2010 it's just awesome, with Gem by his side!
"One fine day, i`m gonna leave you all behind." he certainly left everyone in the music industry behind. still a massive inspiration to me to this day. hes using the guitar i use now in this vid also. sweet
I actually love how simple he makes his chord paterns look. I'd call myself a pretty competent chord guitarist but i was struggling to follow along with him at one point. ........I'll be back.......

Oasis are a good entertaining band who stick to basics. The "we're the best band in the world" lark is just to wind up the media. They know/knew they're not the best.
fuck off they was the best and biggest band in the world 95 to 98 playing knebworth and be here now selling shit loads, and up to they split they was still the best band in the world to me and a lot of people , thats why they can just sell out massive stadiums so easily

I've tried and tried, I just don't get what all the fuss is about this band. I hear something that just kind of lays there, there's nothing all that interesting. Same predictable chord structures, I don't think I could tell the difference between something like this and a Matchbox 20 song. Boring ass shit.
Could be a reason for that..... What do you think? The majority have been fed mediocrity for so long, it's no wonder it still tastes good to them. This band is about as bland as it gets.
but you know you dont really have to mind this one if it doesnt appeal to you. enjoy it if you like it. dont waste your time on it if you dont. life is simple. peace.
You're right, actually I find their fans more annoying than the band themselves, and that's saying a lot considering how baselessly arrogant they are. Listening to these guy's interviews is kind of like listening to a real ugly fat girl go on about how pretty they are. Must be nice to be so deluded. Selling a bunch of records doesn't mean you're a genius, it just means you're palatable to large groups. Michael Bolton did that to.
Oasis are huge not because they are the most talented etc. or because the appeal to teenage/young girls(Michael Bolton !) But because their music is " A million miles from fakery, and only a step away from your heart " They appeal to the man on the street who can identify with the songs and associate them with their own experience. And remember, there is a massive difference between arrogance and (deserved) self belief.

Na, they fucking suck, totally mediocre. People seem to enjoy elevating boring garbage like Oasis because it doesn't challenge the listener. It's the same reason crap like Celine Dion goes multi platinum.
Well If you want to be challenged go do it mate. But I personally just want to hear a good band. Oasis is it. You dont have to like them. But they are most certainly not dead. And so what if they are easy to listen to? The fucking Beatles are easy to listen to as well. Does that mean they suck too? No "difficulty " of listening means nothing about "quality" of band. You could have a very simple song that is {simply} fantastic.
The Beatles had interesting chord structures, melody and colorful lyrics. Sure they're easy to listen to, but they're also interesting. Oasis just shits out the same boring chords over and over. They're not horrible, they're just mediocre, which I think is actually worse.
When I say challenging, I mean music that stirs you emotionally and mentally because it moves in directions you wouldn't expect. With Oasis you just know what's coming in the chorus or the next chord.... Nothing.
Well Then i think it would be in the eye of the beholder, because what stirs YOU emotionaly may be something completley different for me. yea I know they are a pop band in my opinion I think their hooks and chord structures are actually interesting i mean i find it interesting. Its better then generic bands like Panic at the disco green day or other pop bands like that. thats all im going to say because arguing on youtube is stupid. Unless you're arguing about whether rap sucks or not (it does)
Ok then, as Noel once said, "Lets hear one of your songs then" You come up with something that challenges me. Then we will discuss your right to give definitive judgements on oasis. x
he comes on to an asis vid just to give shit? needs to get a fucking life. one look at his profile shows he's into things like UFOs which just proves he's some sad lonely cunt...
In my opinion, the horns make the song sound cheesy. Somehow, the soul of it doesn't come through. I think the better acoustic version is the one with Noel and Gem in Paris, no horns, keyboards, etc. Just guitars and drums.
right let me get one thing straight, noel is the better singer, liam has the better voice, admittedly he sounds abit different when he sings old songs but he still sounds good in my opinion but you get a song like 'aint got nothing' n put his voice from the 90's on it it would'nt sound as good .. he is the fuckin bollox man
liam aint past it at all, not bein funny, but if liam noel was the betta singer, he aint the type of person to let liam do lead!! noel does the sofrt songs, but the rest is liam, best front man in the world, he aint past it, seen um at heaten park, still soundin amazin!!
Noel hardly sang this tune here. His voice sometimes uncontrolled. The version of Paris show 2006 was more beautiful than this. This was not acoustic show, this was MTV unplugged. And this version is FAST!
Btw, Oasis is an rock'n roll band. And Liam deserve the frontman position. Hey people, rock'n roll band not only talk 'bout vocal (Yes, Noel has greater vocal than Liam), but many thing could be talked about a great frontman. Liam has it all (charisma, center of attraction, blocking, attitude)
noel is the leader of the band. liam is the lead singer. noel has a great voice, but liam's has more character, conviction, and attitude, all of which only get stronger as his voice (unfortunately) gets worse.
This performance was meant as a coming out party for Noel because he showed everybody that he, in reality, is the front man of this band. He is one of the best. Sorry for the ego check Liam...
yeh and he also goes on youtube to see what people have put about him, makes me laugh when people think that the artist themself has put them up and are like "whoah that was awesome guys!!!111!!! will you be my R/L friend?!?!?"
hu the fuck are you talking to? tonn3r cared what i thought cos he replied to me, and i cared we thought cos i replied to him in agreement. hu the fuck r u to do with it u saucy cunt?
no disrespect to you, but noel as an author of all the songs sounds better when he sings them, he feels it and it just sounds more natural and human..I'm not saying liam is bad singer, i love the way he sings but noel feels the songs, that's the difference
If noels sounds better singing the songs why bother having liam in the band at all??? If their was no liam there would be no oasis and the same goes with noel.Like most oasis fans at the time i was gutted when liam could'nt do the show,if you prefer noel fair enough.
you're wrong, i agree liam is a better front man but noels whole perfomance at unplugged was just magic, if liam decided to do this gig then we would of missed all of this.
quality from Noel again, i actually like his voice more for the slower accoustic stuff, but yea can't argue with the power of Liams from the original big rock numbers. Cant wait for Slane!
I don't know about you guys, but I prefer Noel's. Cause Liam's version of this song is not really good and this guy sings much, much better. I just love this song, Cheers!
He said he had a sore throat, but later told the band he didn't want to take part in an unplugged session cos they were a 'rock n roll band'.Personally i think he didn't want to be in the spotlight. He'd been drinkin heavily and knew he'd sound like shit being that unplugged gigs are very vocal orientated.
this is pretty derivative of supersonic and the lyrics are utterly meaningless and immaturely juvenile, but I used to love this song when I was about 17
Noel calls the shots. Liam wasn't ill (probably). Noel knew this was the perfect platform to showcase HIS songs. the band would'nt be the same without liam tho. best band in the world by a mile. U2 ar good but not as good.

hahahaha! What a fuckin fanny! Id have been in the crowd mocking the silly bastard as well. It never fails to amaze me how little talent people need to get a bunch of idiots to like them.
when you can write songs like dont look back in anger or live forever, then you can argue his talent.... grow up and realise he's the best songwriter of our generation
I think it would have been weird if Liam sang that night. Noel's voice suits the acoustic set so much better IMO. However Noel is great on the originals
So are you saying that Noel did not sing lead on this song originaly?

no disrespect to noel but i wished liam would have been able to do this show,it would have been 1 of the best mtv unplugged shows ever OasisForever
bentheled 3 years ago
no disrespect to you, but noel as an author of all the songs sounds better when he sings them, he feels it and it just sounds more natural and human..I'm not saying liam is bad singer, i love the way he sings but noel feels the songs, that's the difference
KalisBacardi 3 years ago
If noels sounds better singing the songs why bother having liam in the band at all??? If their was no liam there would be no oasis and the same goes with noel.Like most oasis fans at the time i was gutted when liam could'nt do the show,if you prefer noel fair enough.
bentheled 3 years ago
you're wrong, i agree liam is a better front man but noels whole perfomance at unplugged was just magic, if liam decided to do this gig then we would of missed all of this.

as good as anything oasis have released

219970 what do you mean with meaningless, it's up to the people who can relative to this song .. i think this lyrics are fine as hell!
flenost 3 years ago
quality from Noel again, i actually like his voice more for the slower accoustic stuff, but yea can't argue with the power of Liams from the original big rock numbers. Cant wait for Slane!
ewoodyg 3 years ago
I don't know about you guys, but I prefer Noel's. Cause Liam's version of this song is not really good and this guy sings much, much better. I just love this song, Cheers!

the masterplanrecord (b-sites-record) is fucking great. most of the bands don´t have songs that are that great on their regular records.

Isn't he always out all night drinking? Where else would he be?
DEADETECTIVE 3 years ago
He said he had a sore throat, but later told the band he didn't want to take part in an unplugged session cos they were a 'rock n roll band'.Personally i think he didn't want to be in the spotlight. He'd been drinkin heavily and knew he'd sound like shit being that unplugged gigs are very vocal orientated.

noel is a much better singer than liam
SpasticIBS 3 years ago 3
oasis do not make rubbsih songs.
they are all muscial geniuses.
but i think the less known songs are better.
like take me away and round are way.
noel sings fucking awesome.
raise a campaign for noel to be king;)

I'll vote Noel Gallagher king of the universe any day!!!
emilyrl 3 years ago 2
this is pretty derivative of supersonic and the lyrics are utterly meaningless and immaturely juvenile, but I used to love this song when I was about 17
219970 3 years ago
utterly meaningless? you need to listen more to the song. they mean alot.
to me anyway..

this is just nuts.... put your hands up if you agree..... nuts and stuff

Cheers for the upload!

as noel says, quote-unquote " ' im the better singer, liam's got the voice'
List3nUpp 3 years ago
Noel calls the shots. Liam wasn't ill (probably). Noel knew this was the perfect platform to showcase HIS songs. the band would'nt be the same without liam tho. best band in the world by a mile. U2 ar good but not as good.

He faked sick because he hated doing acoustic gigs.

I think it would have been weird if Liam sang that night. Noel's voice suits the acoustic set so much better IMO. However Noel is great on the originals
