I have a good suggestion of hair wax for the faux hawk, I use this product called "Gatsby" it's a japanese cosmetic hair product it works really good because it's super sticky and it works best when you keep your hair a little bit moisturized or damp just like you said.

@deyoyo15. they have smaller flat irons that guys can use. i kinda have the same problem its gets really waving and growing in all different directions with some curls. i take an extra 5 min or so and do a quick flat iron and it works perfect
