The wonderful thing about this version of Keep Your Distance is the way the arrangement manages to defy classification - not country, not folk, not rock, not pop, etc. It's just great music ... nuf said. Isn't it time we, as consumers, demanded an end to the destructive "formatting" of our music?
@canoodlian Lost a couple of ingers in a chain saw accident [ you know, one of those drunken ice sculpture contests] and so meant to write 'to open'. Sorry to confuse you.
It's too bad that they never had any children, no one to pass all that awesome talent on to through their genes. Almost seams criminal. All we can do is treasure it as long it is possible through cd/dvd/whatever the future of music will be stored on. I love the way the plays guitar.
Yes! I got to see them open for Emmylou Harris many yrs ago & immediately fell in love & got all their cd's & Julie's ! Haven't been so moved by anyone since Emmylou & Gram Parsons!
Richard Thompson's version was the 1st I've heard of this song, and I thought he wrote it,as he wrote so many amazing songs, especially "when the spell is broken."Did the Miller's write this,or are they covering Thompson?
mucho thnxxxxx for posting this song :), real music, real emotions :)

Buddy is the heart of any kind of country music that matters these days. He shouldn't have top open for the Pope,
