  • WHAT IS HE DOIN AT 8 MINUTES

  • Why is the white guy wearing red shoes? lol

  • the education system in japan is the best in the world (look at the technology in japan) this technology is the result of the good education system

  • 和我初中学英文的差不多,不过他们竟然有两个外教,我们自己的英文老师也是哑巴英语

  • Japanese pronunciation is alot different from the english vowels we use . Some of the Alphabet letters dont exist in tha Japanese Culture such as V , X etc . Therefore its difficult for them to Pronounce some letters .

  • V does exist eg: va=ヴァ vi=ヴィ vu=ヴ ve=ヴェ vo=ヴォ

  • yeahrr its compulsary .

  • You can't really blame them. Japanese is very different from Tagalog or Swedish or a lot of other languages. It uses different characters than most languages, and they have to deromanize Japanese or romanize English to read. They have to get used to our romanization of letters and such.

  • you are so, right

  • Filipinos can speak English fluently even in kindergarten!!!!

  • not all~ most people who migrant from the phillipines to other countries such as Australia to Amercia etc .. Come with accents .

  • what stundens waer mask sars?

  • they wear them if they are sick so they dont spread it.

  • how about to try to speak japanese,u think is easy to learn another language?

  • my god they suck at english in japan, its pathetic, in sweden everybodys fluent at that age... i guess its the school sytems fault...

  • According to one survey, in a group of 29 countries they placed dead last in TOEFL scores and are one of the lowest scoring Asian nations

  • Is that there uniform? - its crap

  • its their p e uniform. i think they wear that uniform on the assigned day for their p e subj

  • LoL!!!! CANNABIS ....

  • booooring !!!!!!!!!

and Japs schools are nothing special if they needed 1 hour to writte "i was watching TV"

  • Hi. I will be teaching as an alt for INTERAC in Ibaraki. It will be a junior high as well as a few elementary schools. Your video gives a nice insight in to what to expect. I will be able to get a spouse visa too.

  • if we get a mean like that in our classroom.. then he just come into big trouble

  • that teacher treats that kids like some trained ships..omg if i was in their place i was kicking teachers ass :))

  • o ok, yea i am thinking of actualy tryin this out, i am 17 about to turn 18 this year, so what do i have to do if i do decide to try it out? cause i have alwayz wanted to go to japan and see the culture and difference experiences ^^

  • If you want to come here to experience this lifestyle and just enjoy a culture completely different to your own, then I'd say come on over. But, if you use JET as a way of satifying your ambitions with the need to change things for the better, then coming to work here will most certainly 'do your head in'.

  • The situations can vary quite differently for every JET. I had a main (base school) which was a junior high school, another junior high, and 5 elementary schools where I had to go according to my schedule. We are assistants 'facilitating the education of the English language'.

  • The public education system in Japan integrate us JETs by placing us in a town or city, and then that town or city controls what tasks we are required to perform on a day to day basis. The most common scenario is where city requires the JET to attend one or multiple schools, whether it be elementary, junior high, or senior high school.

  • Okay, to answer your question, Demon. The Japanese educational system deemed it appropriate to integrate a more hands-on approach to learning English a few decades ago. The system that they came up with was JET. This program required mostly western individuals to be recruited from their home country and then flown to Japan in then integrate into the system.

  • A couple questions for you Mr. Puck, one is why is that girl wearing a mask on her face, second where exactly are you beacuse I have heard that some schools treat their english teachers like slaves(No after school interaction with students, pay is rediculus) and lastley what exactly do you do? I must say though it looks like alot of fun. Im interested in doing what your doing.

  • Yes, if you are a PRIVATE ALT, then, chances are, you will be treated like shit, because you work for a company rather than being employed directly by the Japanese government. They can't really fuck with you if you are a JET, if they do, it looks bad for them because you are an employee of the same company 'the government'.

  • But, yea, as a private ALT, you can be sacked quite easily, you get paid quite little, and the companies can be quite unreliable.

  • how does does JET AND ALT WORK?

  • what is the difference between them? srry about all the questions

  • No.. you don't have to have any experience at all. You need to have a batchelors degree, or of course, an undergrad degree to be considered for the JET program.

  • In fact you don't even need to know how to SPELL bachelor's degree!

    ...sorry couldn't resist.

  • do u have to be experienced to be an ALT? what are the qualifications?

  • what exactly is ALT AND J.E.T?

  • ALT stands for: Assistant Language Teacher - and JET stands for: the Japan English Teaching exchange program.

  • wow ow, that white teacher was acting really wearr, i thinkk hee takess drugs or soemthing

  • haha i was kinda wondering about that too...

  • its cute how that luke guy went to show someone's pencil case with the word cannabis on it...haha! he was so teasing that dude.

  • Hey Pukeypuck

Is this what everyday is like for you? I wanted to get an ALT position but J.E.T. was tough to get into to. Does the teacher ever ask to teach or are you just there a window dressing. Awesome video by the way. If you can take some more about your teaching experiences that would be great!

  • Hey Darkchild.

J.E.T. is a crapshoot. I was there as window dressing at that stage.. But I have about 15 other lessons fully recorded where the balance of power shifted completely to me. This is because I dislike having no academic input in these lessons. Anyway, I will be making a few new class videos soon. Thanks for the feedback

  • 4:45 LMAO!
