I see this all the time here on the Duwamish River in Seattle. It isn't just the crows, the seagulls and other species harass the eagles as well. The Eagles basically ignore them all. Occaisionally one will get a little irritated whereupon it will roll over on its back in mid flight and present it's talons to the diving crow, that ends the harassment right then and there!

Crows are very smart creatures. I know many citiesin Japan use special trash cans because crows are able to open the regular ones to get food.

Yes, crows are very intelligent. i once saw a crow give talon signals to another crow in mid flight. This is how they communicate. Consequently, this crow was able to tell the other crows through sign language that prey was approaching.

I've been studying birds, for nearly 25yrs now. And i'd bet money, that these were not Crows, but instead there larger Raven cousins. Raven's are EXTREMELY bold, and have no problems, harassing Birds of Prey just for sheer delight. When it comes to mastering the skys the; Falcons, Hawks, & Eagles have always held that title. But in my opinion, Raven's especially Common Raven's, come in at a very, very, close second place. They can soar & tumble there bodies in "mid-flight", unlike any other bird

Crows are among the smartest animals on the planet. We had them in Tokyo, Japan - jungle crows. They are huge, like hawks, and with recognition capabilities that humans can't even come close to. Ex. from 200 feet away, a jungle crow can tell whether you are aiming at them with a small bibi gun pistol in your hand, or simply a black wallet. The former will cause them to take flight; the later doesn't bother them at all. Amazing!!

great video. Ive captured crows attacking red tails around here. they are relentless. I used to have a wild crow rescue, they are one of my favorite birds.
