I want our youth group to do it, it was really impactful to me, because I do better if things are visual, so this was like whoa. I saw the origional one first, that was amazing.
we did this at my church in iuka it was great i even wanted 2 cry i was the girl i love this song it the best i wish i stilled lived there in iuka couse i would love 2 do that again i got 1 of the churches in aberdeen MS 2 do this at their church an we did an i was the drunk but i was fine with that couse i was doing what i love so very much acting i love 2 act
its fine really good....just maybe when the MAIN girl is struggling with the sins, the struggle can be more exaggerated rather than they just push her to the ground every time.
Like have her get past like two sins only to have them drag her back to the beginning....then she gets almost to jesus, only to be pulled all the way back...understand??
(part five) sorry if i was a little harsh, my yoth group has performed this skit many times and when u said in the information box we could criticize, i was like ok! and i know, as an actress, it's easier to perform when u know ur mistakes, so i wanted to help as much as possible. i really hope i wasnt too mean... it was done very well and i like the extra things that were added. =)

Towards the end of the fight scene the deamons or whatever loose their zeal, and the girl . starts to throw herself on the ground... not good. I like that the girl looks at her arms and realizes she is safe when jesus comes to protect her. I like that jesus takes her back to the garden at the end. The way they exited was awkward b/c they had to step over those bodies.
(part two) The drunk girl shows the audience her back, which could very easily be the main girl's fault. the fashion girl waggles her hips too much. she waddles, very distracting. I do like that the main girl immitates her though. The creeper moves too fast, he needs to be more sneaky.
(part one) Jesus need's to make his movements more defined, let him know each thing he is making, the bird and rain cloud were the two he had the most trouble on. when jesus and the girl do the puppet thing, he needs to lead, not her. Jesus seems like he is rushing. Also, Jesus seems a little washed out by the shirt, but it looks nice that he isnt wearing the dress thing. The suave guy should be more suave. The money man was good. the people who wave in front of jesus move too fast.
i think you did a great job, the youth group im in are doing this too for a homely at 3 masses, im death. the only flaws about it was that the model girl wasnt exactly modeling, just jerking around. and i agree with the black shirt, but i think you guys did an excellent job :)

most people don't realize how true this is for a lot of people. Theres probably thousands around the world right now, going through this....which ever stage it is...great video.

OMG these people did this drama at newday 2008 in derby (uk) and it made over 6,000 teens and adults cry it was just soo amazing and it really great to see how many people there are showing this to the whole word and getting he message through that jesus is real and he is alive and that he cares for us!

talk with someone older that you trust about it...like your parents, a Christian friends' parents, or a pastor or youth pastor. you can't get over something like that alone. you really need to be seeking God, praying, reading the Bible, etc to get his help for you to overcome the problem. and of course, you need willpower. i know you can do it if you trust God and do what you know he wants you to do!
i'm going through some of this stuff too. it's not easy!! i've talked to some christian friends, and that's really helped, and yeah, i agree with queenofsquirrels, it does help to talk with someone older, but friends can give good advice too. i hope you get through this ok, and idk who you are but i'll pray for you. =]

I remember seeing this skit for the first time. I was at Mountain Fork Christian Camp in Oklahoma. I saw the one performed at Winterfest. I thought that this skit was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. After watching it so many times it STILL gives me chills. It gave me a new perspective. That day at camp they were doing a skit where we had to close our eyes and listen to the guy counsilors reenact the crusifiction. It was sad. Then they showed us this one. I was absolutely amazed. :]]
My church youth group just did thi for our annual summer retreat and it was amazing. I have never seen anything more powerful or moving than this, it brought tears to my eyes to watch it and it was definitly the most intense thing i have ever experienced. God Bless! :)
a little rushed and out of rhythm. move with the music, not independent of it.. it helps convey the emotion of the song.. vary the movements during the pushing around, it gets a wee bit monotonous.
on the other hand... def. one of the better versions on youtube. congrats. well practiced and the ending is very beautiful. good job!

I do have a few comments though. I didn't really like how she was so zombie-like in the very beginning, and I actually think she could've had more emotion throughout the whole first half. The beating her up was very halfhearted until Jesus stepped in. But you know what? Gosh darnit, who cares! It's still a great skit!

It's a fairly good version of the original skit. :-) My only suggestion would be to try to get all of the members a BIT more into it. I'm not trying to criticize or anything, because I think you guys did a fine job, I just think that it wasn't as dramatic or as passionate as the original. Passion has impact. :-)

this is really good!The only thing I can see wrong is that the people who are being the "sins" aren't moving around enough in the climax when she tries to go back to Jesus. They need to stop pusing her all the way on the ground because it just looks like whenever she comes up she isnt trying to get to Jesus but is reaching up to let them push her down. It makes it alot less intense. Also, Ive seen people use a strobe light at that part, it might be something you could look into to add intensity.

this is inspiring imm going to show the original lifehouse skit to my drama leader in my church and see if we can do it. its a powerful skit. the girl reminds me of myself when i left Jesus for the world. but I had to make a decision to come back as well!
hey not bad, I love drimes and find they are a great way to preach the msg of Christ. The only criticisms I have are these: the part right where Jesus is trying to pull you away from the temptations, everyone at one pt STOPS pushign you, I can see some of the ppl just standing there, this lack of movement kind of gives it an anticlimactic effect. Since this is suppose to be the most DRAMATIC scene perhaps keeping the energy level up with constant range of movement would be a bonus. Thats all
The adaptation of the skit was awesome! I'm a 44-year-old mother of 2 teens who know the Lord. The first time I saw the video of this skit (done at Winterfest) I cried. Then I had to watch it 3 more times, & forward the link to friends and family! I didn't cry for my kids, who face so many temptations in society today...I cried for me, and the teenager I was so long ago, who struggled against those things but didn't have a relationship with Christ. When He is 'pulling' you in...that was me.
you know why it's lacking energy? it's cuz both me and the guy playing jesus were lacking energy in real life! lol... it actually takes a lot of work for the girl to try to get past all those people as they push her back down, and the jesus character also struggles during the part where all the bad guys are beating up on him and he's blocking the girl. haha...it actually is a tiring skit to perform. :) but yeah...definitely touching...
There are so many influences and pressures for teens to do all of the things in this video and more. A lot of times it's because people think God left them when really he was there all along, they just wern't looking. Just like your character. Even though God was right there trying to pull her back in, she was making the decisions to do alcohol, and lust, and everything else. Then she came back to God ♥ You did a great job!
This is beautiful, <3 Jesus Christ he is the savior! Let his kingdom come and His will be done. What is better than what he gives us? This song is very relative to all of that. I <3 ur video and im proud that u guys did this! <3 It!!!
I think in the beginning of this she needs to be looking at jesus..when he's moving her hands and legs.. and closer to the end all the hand movements are off.. but alltogether it was a great performance. you have a great ministry tool!.. keep up the good work..

THe only thing that gets to me is that cutting was sort of represented as a sin. I don't think cutting is ok, but I think of it as more of a problem than a sin.

yeah, you're right...i hadn't thought of that. well, i guess it depends on how we define sin. Some people say that sin is anything that God doesn't approve of. If we go with that definition, than I suppose cutting is a sin. But I totally get what you mean...interesting point...
if you wanted criticism if you plan to do this again in the future .. perhaps in the ending where you fight to go to Him, make it seem like you're going to Him, instead of running back to the bad people, try running to Him and everyone else stopping ..
and also .. a darker room would be awesome .

I have been partial to the first version I saw, but you guys are great. I have watched a few of these (marked as favorites on my page), and I cry every single time. I finally pinpointed the exact moment in each one that I begin to cry, when she throws down the gun and tries to get to Jesus. (just typing it makes me start to cry.) I cry when people get saved or come back from being backslidden, even on fictional movies like Left Behind. God Bless you and your group!
actually, when i first saw it preformed by our director (she did all the parts herself, narrating at the same time to show us), i almost cried. :) but i don't think i actually cried while doing it. maybe on the real thing cuz i tried to really get into character. oh, but i sometimes felt like crying cuz i had huge bruises on my knees from the fighting scene. haha... :)

I've seen lots of different versions of this, and I love them all!
I do have a few comments though. I didn't really like how she was so zombie-like in the very beginning, and I actually think she could've had more emotion throughout the whole first half. The beating her up was very halfhearted until Jesus stepped in. But you know what? Gosh darnit, who cares! It's still a great skit!

It's a fairly good version of the original skit. :-) My only suggestion would be to try to get all of the members a BIT more into it. I'm not trying to criticize or anything, because I think you guys did a fine job, I just think that it wasn't as dramatic or as passionate as the original. Passion has impact. :-)

this is really good!The only thing I can see wrong is that the people who are being the "sins" aren't moving around enough in the climax when she tries to go back to Jesus. They need to stop pusing her all the way on the ground because it just looks like whenever she comes up she isnt trying to get to Jesus but is reaching up to let them push her down. It makes it alot less intense. Also, Ive seen people use a strobe light at that part, it might be something you could look into to add intensity.

Thanks for the comments. yeah, we definitely improved on that part. Check out the "video response" posted. This video is actually from July last year, and we've done it quite a few times since then and have really improved a lot.
And we can't afford a strobe light...lol

this is inspiring imm going to show the original lifehouse skit to my drama leader in my church and see if we can do it. its a powerful skit. the girl reminds me of myself when i left Jesus for the world. but I had to make a decision to come back as well!

hey not bad, I love drimes and find they are a great way to preach the msg of Christ. The only criticisms I have are these: the part right where Jesus is trying to pull you away from the temptations, everyone at one pt STOPS pushign you, I can see some of the ppl just standing there, this lack of movement kind of gives it an anticlimactic effect. Since this is suppose to be the most DRAMATIC scene perhaps keeping the energy level up with constant range of movement would be a bonus. Thats all

The adaptation of the skit was awesome! I'm a 44-year-old mother of 2 teens who know the Lord. The first time I saw the video of this skit (done at Winterfest) I cried. Then I had to watch it 3 more times, & forward the link to friends and family! I didn't cry for my kids, who face so many temptations in society today...I cried for me, and the teenager I was so long ago, who struggled against those things but didn't have a relationship with Christ. When He is 'pulling' you in...that was me.

I have so many friends that need to see this. It makes me cry because I will know their fate when they die without knowing the Lord.

you know why it's lacking energy? it's cuz both me and the guy playing jesus were lacking energy in real life! lol... it actually takes a lot of work for the girl to try to get past all those people as they push her back down, and the jesus character also struggles during the part where all the bad guys are beating up on him and he's blocking the girl. haha...it actually is a tiring skit to perform. :) but yeah...definitely touching...

There are so many influences and pressures for teens to do all of the things in this video and more. A lot of times it's because people think God left them when really he was there all along, they just wern't looking. Just like your character. Even though God was right there trying to pull her back in, she was making the decisions to do alcohol, and lust, and everything else. Then she came back to God ♥ You did a great job!

I think in the beginning of this she needs to be looking at jesus..when he's moving her hands and legs.. and closer to the end all the hand movements are off.. but alltogether it was a great performance. you have a great ministry tool!.. keep up the good work..

I love this, it's amazing! So powerful and emotional.
THe only thing that gets to me is that cutting was sort of represented as a sin. I don't think cutting is ok, but I think of it as more of a problem than a sin.
Don't get me wrong though, I really do love this peice of drama!

yeah, you're right...i hadn't thought of that. well, i guess it depends on how we define sin. Some people say that sin is anything that God doesn't approve of. If we go with that definition, than I suppose cutting is a sin. But I totally get what you mean...interesting point...

Cutting is rejecting God's love by mutilating the body, which God loves.

if you wanted criticism if you plan to do this again in the future .. perhaps in the ending where you fight to go to Him, make it seem like you're going to Him, instead of running back to the bad people, try running to Him and everyone else stopping ..
and also .. a darker room would be awesome .
but seriously, that was some good stuff.
and i'm sure our Father is impressed (:

I loved this... when Robert was holding back the sins... I felt it was so strong. I almost started crying... knowing I've gone through almost all of these things in my life.
This was REALLY good. I absolutely loved it. Do you mind if I use it for my youth group meetings sometime?!

I have been partial to the first version I saw, but you guys are great. I have watched a few of these (marked as favorites on my page), and I cry every single time. I finally pinpointed the exact moment in each one that I begin to cry, when she throws down the gun and tries to get to Jesus. (just typing it makes me start to cry.) I cry when people get saved or come back from being backslidden, even on fictional movies like Left Behind. God Bless you and your group!

actually, when i first saw it preformed by our director (she did all the parts herself, narrating at the same time to show us), i almost cried. :) but i don't think i actually cried while doing it. maybe on the real thing cuz i tried to really get into character. oh, but i sometimes felt like crying cuz i had huge bruises on my knees from the fighting scene. haha... :)
