I really like Ron Paul and I think that he is sincere. Most people I have talked to personally agree that if he is elected he will probably be assassinated by wealthy interests who will stand to loose from reform.
Read as much as you can by authors like Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, and Walter LaFaber for more insight into how we got here...peace...
It's hard to pay close attention to Politics and not be disgusted.
I forget which founding father it was(Benjamin Franklin i think) He thought we would need a new revolution every 20 years or something to keep the country/goverment in check.
Amber, try Meet the Press, This Week with George S., McGlaughlin Group, HardBall with Chris Matthews, Lou Dobbs is cool. But please get off the shows that use terms like Anti American and "Support our troops". Those shows are poison and insult your intelligence Amber. We need more people like you.
You will figure it out. We built government to get ourselves to a place of self sustainability. It is not needed, it can benefit us. We can use a shifting form of government to help more people and focus more thought. The forum for government should be on the internet right now.
Oe more thing, Obamas childhood in particular is important. He has a larger world view than someone from say, Texas who never traveled outside the country and views his democracy as the only correct democracy.
Thank you for watching. When I am not studying books on government, I watch an array of political television shows including Hannity and Colmes, The O'Reilly Factor, and Lou Dobbs. I also caught the democratic youtube debates.I believe you are using my youth as a way to reject my points. However, you present a reasonable point about his upbringing and its importance. If we all collaborate we can surely improve this failing system.
The shows you listed there are poison not reason! Try PBS, NPR, The Daly Show, and Stephen Colbert! On NPR if you listen carefully liberals are not elitist and conservatives don't sound like arrogant hillbillies. The truth is somewhere in the middle.
Dont care about youth. You used a simple minded/naive/wedge term, "anti american" and you watch some simple minded shows, "Oreilly Factor" and "Hannity". Barack Obama, Kucinich, Gravel and Ron Paul are the anti establishment/anti D.C. candidates. Most who want what you preech see people like Hannity and Oreilly as the problem. Simple minded arguements & wedge issues to win elections. I reject your points b/c I think you're wrong.
I wonder if this girl watched the debates or watches the news. Barack Obama being black is acknowledged by America/the news. Hilary being a woman is acknowledged by america/the news. It shouldnt be an issue but it is. She needs to get real a little bit. I will add, in order to institute change, you have to get to the white house first. But good on her for being young and getting interested.
Your life as child tells who you are and where you came from. W. never told you of his past because it went against his image. Read "Lord of the Flies" you will see that human dynamics are important. Start reading! Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln...Your talking about anarchy not democracy. By the way, think about why you singled out Barack Obama. Your heart will lead the way.
Just wanted to point out that America was founded as a Republic where the intrests of the majority may not abridge the intrests of minority groups and their intrests. I'm not talking race but issues. Democracy in essence is mob rule and the forefathers knew that everyone's intrests should be represented. This is why we have an electoral college. The forefathers knew the difference, so should you and everyone else who relies on the media for their education.
I was actually responding to saully1966 in my previous post, who stated that you were talking about anarchy and not democracy. Well, 9 month old thread, what was I thinking? I think we should continue talking about these things.
I guess thats all I have to say. Have you seen the documentary "The Trap: What Happened To Our Dreams of Freedom"? Video google it. It's very informative.
I want to agree with you but I'm not sure I do. Your points are kind of muddled, but I guess you were trying to convey bafflement at the whole system.
On the whole, "representing the people", idea- a lot of people use this phrase, but it ends up with politicians who do whatever the populace tells them to, and act like maintenace men rather than people with strong beliefs in anything. That's why the left wing and the right wing have come together in britain.
I was not as clear as I would have liked to have been-but simply my point is America's political system is not working. Thank you for the information- I'll check it out.
Hang on, you mean you watched my videos? :D Is that how you know I'm english? Cause I don't think I've got that info in my description. Anyway...
You know what else is screwed up here? The education system. It's depressing. I might try and make a video about it or maybe I'll write an article or something. Keep doing what you're doing. Hope you get some more subs!
Im a big believer in direct democracy, until we have it things wont get esentially better. Were just voting for a couple of faces that have been served to us, we vote for them cause we dont have anything else to vote. I can feel the disillusion you display too, i think many can feel with you. Great video.

Ha, pureuncut, you make me smile.
Of course. Almost every show on television is too biased to convey any truth.
I just wanted to stick up for myself... because I try and keep informed.
And, naturally, I also check out some of the others you named. In fact, I just saw Tim Russert speak at the University of Miami a couple days ago!
Thank you for the praise, argument, and discussion. :)

That is an interesting perspective.
I agree, childhood is important. However, a campaign ad begging for sympathy does not reflect good poltics. I have read Lord of the Flies.
I did not single out Barack Obama on basis of race. I view Barack as a man, not a black man.
Humanity is humanity--
My point is not anarchy but change.
I am glad people like you are thinking and sharing their opinions.
