  • yeah your looking for Mapp gas? "Mapp" is just a brand name FYI, your looking for propylene which is miles hotter than propane. It's also known as: Propylene glycol, or 1 2-propanediol and or propane-1 2 diol.

    propylene or mapp gas will do just fine LOL.

  • Well done man this is really cool mixing it with the propane and propane acesories to quote king of the hill cartoon lol. What is that handle from? As a welder man I have to warn you if you ever got a back burn in that flimst handle your hands would be seriously in big trouble fast. I've seen it with Aceteylne. The tip of the flame is Always the hottest point. The solid blue tight triangle your getting is an oxidising flame, you could cool it by getting a neutral flame. Awsome vid though cheers.

  • @NOBOX7 Right on mate, I love watching videos such as this, I'll sit here on my spare time for hours wanting to build an HHO torch, but not sure where to start. I'm an advanced hobbby level electronics tinkerer, I might be able to do it, not sure. I am a trade welder, so If you ever need some info as to whats going on there shoot me a message. Oh btw by tip I of course didn't mean the very tip of the outer flame I'm sure you know what I mean you seem to get it. Cheers for the cool vids.

  • your HHO burns orange... Mine burns a clear blue and needs no propane to melt steel or copper..

  • @altern8energy In this video, and in his case with HHO gas it's not the gas mixture at fault making the orange flame. In this case it's due to his tip design and the way the gas mix is tumbleing through the tip, this is mainly caused by turbulence caused by forgen metal fragments that get hot and oxidize or cool the gas mixture when flowed over. There is more than likely a rouch opening on the back side of his tip hole, or is just pure design. The flame is burning slightly behind the tip head.

  • Great demo !! Now I am thinking may be the HHO is not the gas we have to burn, but the KEY modificator to get best results from other fuels.. Can you measure the amount of Propane you are using , with the 1.5 LPM of HHO ? best regards Daniel

  • today ill do a vid , another friend was also very intrested in this, i will show the propane burning alone at the used flow rate then i may do a LPM test on the propane

  • This is very interesting to me. When i tried that i found it lowered the flame temp, but i didn't dial in the small cone shape. You have a great result there, keep playing with it, the info is very valuable. If you use it for a long period of time, plug in a CO detector to be safe. Good Work!

  • hey bro i cant remember the name of the other gas they use for brazing and soldering,, i think its mapp gas but i think it may be something els,,, i cant beleave i forgot ... and yes it does lower the temp for the most part but the specific heat is greatly increased , i was able to solder copper very easely and before it took all i could give , and a very long time to heat up the copper pipe in the vid

  • i am aware of acetalene , so thats not the name of the gas i cant remeber,,it cost 8 $ verses 3 $ for the propane of the same size tank

  • and if you take into account that the propane torch on its own with a mix of nitrogen and oxygen to burn with will be vastly less in tempreture.

  • so you have a few things going on here ....from my understanding you have 2 hydrogens and a pure oxygen burning in stoichmetric mix and then adding pure propane to the mix taking it out of its stoichmetric and sharing the pure oxygen with the pure propane.the propane wants to explode and the hho wants to implode so essentially they resist each other creating a greater specific heat.

  • not exactly ,, hho does explode its the rapid cooling of the reactions byproduct , steam, you see the low specific heat of hho has to do with the small number of chemical bonds reacting when propane { a much larger molicule} burns many chemical bonds brake forming co2 and heat,, much more reaction takes place per molecule with propane, hho fibrates atoms faster then other flames but other flames can fibrate more at a lesser rate then hho can,, hho is faster fibration wise

  • i did not have room to fit all that in one responce , the rapid cooling of the steam created in an hho Explosion causes an

    almost insntantanias implosion, hho does implode subsequent to exploding, and as i was saying with the specific heat its like saying ok this welding torch can cun steel but a camp fire cant but the camp fire could bring an entire bath tub of water to a boil,, cus more of a lesser reaction is taken place but the welder is very hot and lesser in reaction,, make any sence???

  • yes thats it you got it ,, ts a very hard thing to explain alot of people cant comprehend the meaning of specific heat, it is hard to rap your mind around it at first but then its all to clear its in the wording of the description that unlocks that secret

  • if you put your goggles in front of the camera you should be able to video the brazing and the hot cone when its too bright....

  • There are several metals and alloys which melt at those temperatures and lower. A couple of examples would be, tin, which is used for soldering, Mercury which is liquid at room temperature under normal conditions, Woods metal, Rose's metal, and Field's metal, which are alloys with melting points lower than 100C.
