I just thought that FF12 completed my life. Apparently not, that title belongs now to this singular piece on piano. <3 amazing, astoundingly beautiful. Also, there's a way to download the sheet music. Message me if you want the link, it's a rar archive.
Its a shame that so many rubbish pieces were included, or ones that do not lend themsleves to piano well. For me it was easy it should have been this... 1.The Promise / Serahs Theme 2.Eden under Siege 3.Terra Incognito 4.Can't Catch A Break 5.Feast of Betrayal 6.Sabers Edge 7.Vanille's Theme 8. Daddys Got The Blues 9. Snows Theme 10. Start Your Engines 11. The Road Home 12. Ending Theme
@nezkeys79 so youre saying that snow's theme, heavy metal guitar song could translate to piano, and you say rubbish pieces but you wanna that shitty daddys got the blues!? i don't even remember it that well. so you should come up with better song sellection
While I love these collections, these are the songs I would choose for this collection, in this order: 01. The Promise 02. Saber's Edge 03. The Vestige 04. Lightning's Theme - Blinded By The Light 05. Cavalry Theme 06. The Sunleth Waterscape 07. Vanille's Theme 08. Desperate Struggle 09. March Of The Dreadnoughts 10. Chocobos Of Pulse 11. The Cradle Will Fall 12. Dust To Dust (The Colourless World) 13. Prelude Of Final Fantasy XIII
an underdog track needs potential to become notable. "Tidus' Theme", "Find Your Way", "Wind Crest"--these had potential. (Or if you prefer examples from FF13: "Determination", "Fabula Nova Crystallis", "Born Anew", "Eidolons".) "Nautilus", "Gapra Whitewood"? There is no potential, as is proven by their expositions on this 10-track album. But hey, at least the album's cover looks cool.
@Rickaveris Yeah, everything you said there makes absolute sense. I don't think they took the time out to actually observe each track in the OST and decide which ones would make a good piano piece. Sulya Springs doesn't have the same effect without the strings. I'd have loved to see them do a Piano Collection of Fabula Nova Crystallis. I think the way that song was used in XIII was absolutely amazing. Must admit, I was concerned with Hamauzu. He proved me wrong. Awesome OST.
Heartbreaking. I can tell the pianist wasn't very inspired. I just finished listening to every track on this album, and the only fragment worth noting is the end of "The Promise ~ The Sunleth Waterscape". Everything else sounds like the arranger and/or pianist were just going through the motions, instead of trying to bring something new, interesting, or even palatable to the table. The track choices weren't great, either. I understand that they love to bring life to the underdog tracks, but

@Xolohon Yes some of FF13's soundtrack are better than FF10. But I liked almost all tracks from FF10. Not saying that FF13 is bad!!

Hmm this is good but still they should have stuck with the classic. Irreplaceable...
