If you go for just the rear exhaust or if you fit a central silencer with the full system the exhaust have a nicer and sportier note but it's not intrusive inside the car. You can hear that the sound is different but it's not much louder than stock.
That's what I would be aiming for - a sporty note and might be louder above 3,000 RPM, but should be civilised below for pleasant cruising. Too bad it's soooooo expensive...
Could you post a comparison stock vs. Supersprint (170HP MA)?
Sadly you get very small gains even with the full exhaust without a remap, becasue even with a lower backpressure after the turbo the ECU keep the boost at the same level.
@Gardus82 luckily I don't care about the gains at all - I just want the looks and the sound :), muffler is ordered already, waiting for the delivery; hope I won't be fed up with the noise...
Obviously a BMW M3 2K11 sounds good with and S/S exhaust. But 1st this V8 car has a good sound already original and it shouldn't be necessary to put a whole system wit cat, pipes etc. on it. I mounted on a Audi RS4 and S/S exhaust. And the sound was really nice, then I put a Capristo on it...absolutely no comparison....teh Capristo was amazing...sorry
Capisto are not homolgated or if they are they use some tricks as the db levels are way over the standard values. One of the key elements of our "road" exhaust is to give a nice sporty sound and a performance gain without being intrusive inside the car on long trips and daily use. You can always choose a not silenced centre pipe if you want more. On the M3 E92 with the full system you can a 23~25 hp increase, that's the point, the sound is much more agressive too.
@Supersprintcom ok...but sorry I have a GTA.I wanted to buy rear& center exhaust. The rear exhaust I wanted wasn't homologated, same for the center exhaust. Same for the M3 I don't find a homologated center exh. Sure the sound must not interfere in the car, absolutely right. The performance increase of S/S systems is out of discussion. All expirienced car tuners know this that S/S is the top. But it is really so difficult to build silencers with a good sound with homogolation? like the others do?
Can you make me a few example of homologated exhaust systems with a better sound? Because a few system out there have "strange" homologations...we go for the full TUV approval. The noise level regulations are very strict.
Sure...I fitted a GTV 3.0 with a Novitec center & rear(made by Jetex-fortex)...it was amazing.. the customer was happy and it was homlogated. I don't know the restrictions about the TUV, I can speak only for Switzerland. Here you can have a homologation, but if the exhaust is to loud after 20K kilometers you have to change it. About strange homologations....I asked myself..how a Ferrari 360 CS received a homologation...this car is loud as hell :-)
I have to admit....I like supersprint about the quality. I consider to all my customers supersprint if they wanna have a high quality product. But I have to be hones, the sound i really bad. I mounted now S/S on a Giulietta 1.4T and a Golf 4 1.8T and I and my client were very disappointed. Not better then original. In my opinion you have to work on the sound.
@dbf79 I wonder what type of exhaust have you fitted. Rear exhaust only? centre + rear exhaust? Full system?
Because the rear "road" exhaust alone is not made to have a very sporty sound, for that you need our not homologated "racing" exhaust. We develop the full system as a whole thing and the rear exhaust is designed with that in mind, so even with headers and sports cats you don't have drone in the car and the car is not overly loud.
@Supersprintcom I fit the Cars with the rear & center exhaust. And the center is not even homologated for the Giulietta! The Golf with center pipe and rear exhaust. For the Golf I took now a Sportec rar & centre exhaust, fully homologated, stainless steel.Absolutely lovely sound agressive but not to loud. For teh Giulietta I took now a CSC rear exhaust, stainless steel. Also a lovely sound. I remember when I fitted Alfa 75, GTV etc. with S/S exhausts...the sound was amazing
Sportec systems are made by us with different specifics. I'm not sure about CSC homologations, I've seen some of their systems and I 'd have a few comments about the quality but this is not the place. Anyway, sound is such a subjective matter, the same exhaust will be loved by someone and hated by others.
I agree someone likes it and others not. Don't understand me wrong, I don't criticize S/S I only give my opinion. The quality from S/S is another level then CSC, for sure. For a sportscar like M3, AMG63 I prefer S/S then CSC. because in this price segment I wanna have a high end product like supersprint which increases also the performance. But for a Polo 1.4 it would be not the first choice. At the end I'm Italian and I'm really happy to see that we produce such super products

From alfa forum:
My father drove Alfa's all his life, geat cars during the 60's and 70's not so great now. In Italy you can get discounts of up to 20% on a new Alfa & mainly see kids who cannot afford a series 1 BMW or Golf driving them. Alfa's reliability is terrible as is their post sales support. Buying an Alfa is like playing russian roulette, sooner or later you are going to get scr*wed. Remember that Alfa is owned by Fiat (First In All Troubles) which tells you all you need to know.
I think you're still living in the 90s...try a recent alfa (MiTo, Giulietta, 159, Brera), it's not on pair with the big three German brands (Mercedes, BMW and Audi) but it's not inferior to VW.
About the reliability, I trust only the international surveys. Service in Italy is great but I can't comment about it in foreign country!
All the manufacturers today use scaling strategies and cheap parts when they can, complains about broken turbochargers,diesel-shoot filter etc are common.
The comment is actually off the alfa forum from a member on there. I have driven a 159 before I bought my Skoda Octavia vRS -- the Alfa 159Ti was slower, felt less well built and although even on price, will not hold its value like the Octavia will. I also found the Alfa dealer very 'Arthur Daley' like.
The boost is limited by the ECU even if the pressure differential at the turbo is higher because of the lower backpressure of the new exhaust, so changing just the exhaust doesn't do much. With a remap you can get a higher boost without compromising the reliability as you would with the standard exhaust.
It's the same in many cars nowadays, the Mini Cooper S for example.
Is the exhaust louder than the stock one? I'd like to have a twin exhaust, but don't want the car to be too loud...

Supersprint is not a tuner, we don't work on the electronics on the car.
Anyway, I think there's not a solution yet for the ESP.
