  • Braćo, a za šta je to ispit? za crni pojas??

  • @MrDanny301 I'm not sure if this has been answered for you yet, but generally no, a lot of modern thin t-shirts will just stretch and rip and be of no use for grabbing. Jackets and thicker shirts would be better. That said, most techniques could me modified slightly to be done without grabbing clothing.

  • What is the name of the song?

  • @MrDanny301 That depends entirely on the technique and the type of clothing. Obviously on a T shirt, you would have to modify your grip to grabbing the wrist or forearm for a throw, instead of the clothing. However, on something like a hoodie, the grip is pretty much the same as long as the hoodie doesn't slip off. Wouldn't reccomend grabbing like, a plain long sleeve shirt like that though. Might rip and you'd look dumb, then proceed to get beaten up.

  • its not martial arts.... THIS IS FUCKING IKIDO !!! dam it now stop asking stupid questions.

  • @FFomegAAA If you're going to make a comment like "It's not martial arts" on a video that CLEARLY is martial arts, please at least spell the name of the art right. It's "Aikido". Gf.

  • @heyame111 sry abut the spelling em from Bulgaria. and this is A martial art not martial art's.

  • how much do martial arts classes cost?

  • holy shit this is legit? i thought someone posted this because it's hilariously stupid, turns out it's some dojo promoting itself.

  • ahahahahahahahahaaaa This is hilarious !

  • a latac sie tam uczycie :D

  • why that people is wearing differents belts?. In aikido all belts are white and Dans belts are blacks

  • Wrist locks, ankle locks and neck strikes are all LEGAL in UFC and DREAM. Wrist locks are just a really low percentage move against someone with their wrist taped and a glove on, that's why you don't usually see them. Ankle locks can also be difficult because of the sweat/slipperiness factor of not wearing pants/shoes. What is ILLEGAL is "small joint manipulation" ie., fingers and toes, and "intentionally spiking the head or neck of an opponent" ie., pile drivers. Also, 12-6 elbows, oddly.

  • The common response from traditional martial artists: UFC isn't real! ok, well imagine randy cotoure using his athleticism and skillset and deciding to punch in the neck instead of the face... or grabbing the ear... because obviously he could... UFC does train for sport... but this training exhibited here is far LESS real and is bull shit. You trick people into thinking they are safe and can protect themselves.

  • ehehehe...this is great//

  • Nice too see

  • where is this

  • this is BS why come no one has ever done any of these moves in the UFC? or Pride or even in a competition?

  • @gusto1978 lol a lot of these moves are not allowed in the ufc...for example the stand up arm bar

  • @gusto1978 Your an idiot,.

  • @fohnerGTX and u are a blind dumb Kunt, who failed to feel or read that i was being Sarcastic!!!!

  • DAS ist KAMPFKUNST UND NICHT KAMPFSPORT DA KANN man sehn wo DER UNTERSCHIED LIEGT :KAMPFKUNST =KONTER,REFLEX,NACHGEBEN,DANN KRAFT NUTZEN!!!!KAMPFSPORT:Einfach nur DRAUFHAUEN

  • Passt alles

  • I kind of liked this aikido demonstration. It incorporated a number of strikes, and some additional throws that you don't normally see in a lot of Aikido work. Nicely done. As for the nay-sayers, yes, in martial arts in general, it is the Uke's job to be cooperative - and in Aikido it seems they are often more cooperative than in other disciplines (especially in their entry). Doesn't necessarily mean the technique isn't good or effective though.

  • GREAT VIDEO 5/5 . . .

  • When I was doing sport jujitsu out in Hawaii I ran into an Aikido blackbelt who was crosstraining. He didn't do well overall, but he did KO a couple guys who didn't watch their balance with some pretty impressive slams. However, the training methodology of attackers running like one-armed trains does not help prepare the Aikido practioner for real conflict. I believe it to be the leading reason why it takes so long for Aikido students to become good at self-defense.

  • A ona igra, vrti se ko cigra hahahhaha!!!

  • unfortunately...not trying to hate or anything, but the parts where it was like..2v1.. Im sorry but that was kinda ridiculous lol. other than that I like. =P

  • @droughboi They're only allowed to do the one direct attack, while the defender evades or blocks or whatever, and it just loops. They know what the attacker is going to do in 2v1 and 1v1 stuff, it's all equally unimpressive demonstation haha

  • The randori is funny. I guess the assumption is that you will be attacked by a large number of one-armed bandits, taking hammer-fist strikes at you.

  • @Derukugi2 XD

  • looks good! why you guys dont enter the UFC?

  • There's a lot of reasons for that - the main one from a competitive viewpoint though is that there's too many rules that would ban many of the takedowns and locks in Aikido - since snapping bones and dislocating joints is avoided as much as possible and many of these techniques will do just that if you don't know how to roll with it (which most don't), then most the aikido techniques will get you in a lot of trouble.

  • 1:16 is my favorite. i wanna learn how to disarm someone.

  • I used to do aikido and loved it! But then i had to move so i had to stop. Just curious, what song is this and who is it by?

  • The song is called Galvanize, I think it's by The Chemical Brothers

  • lol that was me

  • The style is Aikidoa Ju-Jutsu, you can see it at the end of the video. Very Good!

  • I love this, maybe because it' s very close from our own style.

    Well done !

  • the throw at 00:56 is sick! ;O

  • its called kote gaeshi

  • This is great! I want to learn this style. At the beginning it said Aikidoa -ju-jutsu. Im assuming that is what it is, Right?

  • yes this is aikido all the way the way to tell is how much apposing force is there hes moving around them and moving them in circles so least musch possible

  • its called Aiki Jitsu

  • Not Aikido at all... "Real Aikido" is just ju jitsu with a few aikido movements. Very effective though.

  • ... Aikido is quite similar to Aikido, it's not as flowy as Aikikia, nor is it quite as harsh as Yoshinkan.

  • LOL 0:24

  • exceln t video..ill put it on my blog..greeting from peru lol xd!

  • lols xD not traditional aikido it is real and the one and only REAL efective aikido i love it >.>

  • this looks perfect for say a bouncer in a night club

  • Comment removed

  • Actually it is Aikido but not traditional but modified and known as "real Aikido" and very effective actually.

Very nice work guys keep it up. Greetings from Greece

  • Its not aikido

  • To the guy a while back who thinks the UFC allows wrist locks - no they don't. I'm not even sure they allow ankle locks anymore. It's been a while since I've seen one. The point is - there's way more to fighting than what you see "in the cage", when was the last time you saw a fighter rip the guy "moving to mount" off of himself by using his ears as handle bars? Never. It's a standard combat move. You can't grab throats, eyes, ears, nose, hair, fingers, and all that. The UFC isn't real fighting.

  • @jacksandspades That is such a good point and people will still argue over what works and doesn't They say things like neck strikes and eye gouges take no special technique. When what they lack is a real understanding of what effect different techniques really have. If a person only trains for the ring then he is limiting his ability the ring has rules i believe in branching out to whatever works.Yeah ufc is not real fighting if people could do as they please it could be a blood bath. No LIE

  • Pozdrav od "martial artist"-a iz Zagreba.

    Svaka Vam čast!

  • Hvala! Pozdrav i tebi!!!

  • Is this tomiki aikido?somehow it looks really rough

  • @Rvu72 its aikido for sure

just a more practical aikido than the rest

  • This is REAL aikido.. not the tradicional one..

  • c'mon my darlings! aikido is more about movement + as has been state here it is a noble martial art and,no doubt there, is a way of life.

Even my kyokushin shihan speaks about aikido with deep respect, and i am yet to meet a MA artist who would regard aikido as completely "useless"

    "Aikido is love"

P.S. think you so hardcore street fighter - go ahead and fight on the street.

  • If this really does work on the street, then I will take it up.....

  • If you want to learn how to handle yourself on the street then mixed martial arts is the way to go. Learning to use boxing, kicks, take downs, and grappling; then you will be a good all rounder. I remember a motto that states,

hit fast, hit low, hit hard." That's what all the people did who have beaten me up, and I havent won a fight yet! Even when I use my superior screaming mouth technique I lose! I'm natural born loser, thats what I am ;-)

  • Ok being so honest isnt necessary XD

  • :-)

  • @EwePeopleRsheeple lol maybe if you havnt won a fight yet you should switch martial arts lol

  • @IamXrayy I did win ONE fight, if beating your sister counts?

  • lol only if she was hitting back haha

  • but in all truth Aikido is very effective if practiced and modified to real world senarios

and is exspecially good when mixed with Krav Maga and BJJ if you study all three of these unless someone just has a cannon of an arm

youll be a hard person to beat

i know most of aikido techniques and have studied krav and bjj a little as well as the army training i have gotten

it sure makes me feel alot safer when in CQB or just on the street stateside

  • awesome! respect!

  • It's hilarious when all these guys come on youtube after watching UFC and tell everybody what works and doesnt work. MMA everywhere has rules people, and I cant think of one organization that allows wrist locks and neck strikes. ALmost everything I learned in the military I could never use in MMA, but it can kill a man in way under a minute. Huge difference between street fighting and ring fighting ok?

  • UFC allows wrist locks I thought. Any BJJ comp allows them. When they restrict "small joint manipulation" they mean fingers and toes.

Military hand to hand is simple and effective, but the lack of time put into it means it has little chance working against a trained opponent. I have many friends who were in the Corps and Army and I schooled them all.

  • @jacksandspades standing wrist locks are almost impossible to do on a resisting opponent. i trained jujitsu for 2 years hell i cant even do the techniques on my 3 years younger brother. you are right about the part of the neck strikes. the throat is very well protected and very hard to strike but i suppose you can grab it. the eyes on the other hand must be very hard to strike or grab because the eyes are so small and the opponent will move around his head. But well what do i know. =D

  • @JORDHOLMEN If you think wrist locks and wrist throws are almost impossible to do on a resisting opponent then you are doing them wrong. Go to any police agency that uses Koga arrest control which is Aikido for cops and tell them something they use every day doesnt work.

  • @solkanis1 . look at cops for a moment´=D. they cant almost force an resisting girl to get hand cuffed on their own =D. its only when the opponent give up or the cops are lucky that you they can use wrist locks on them or they outnumber the attacker. simple fact =DDDDD

  • i like the style its practical

  • lamarzocco87 is absolutely right. This is just a very Skilled demonstration of sparring and practicing techniques - it actually take a lot of skill to perform these moves without hurting the attacker. I would not want to be the stupid ass that attacked any of these guys (girls)...

  • hahaha I love the people that comment that know nothing about Martial arts and or Aikido... The idea behind this is sparring. It never once it was real fighting. They have to flow together because (those of you that train Aikido would know) if uke (receiver of the technique) didn't, he would find himself with broken arms/wrists/neck. Please dont comment on what you dont know about.

  • Martial arts exhibitions (like the one on this vid) are allways more or less choreographed, I'd suspect that there is no art that would present a real fight in such occasion.

  • LOL. How ignorant. While granted the attackers are doing specific attacks in the multi-person portions, (randori,) the attackers ARE attempting to hit/grab/punch the person doing the techniques. The "dance" results from the attacker continuing to attempt to attack the person after the strike misses. It is true that the attackers get up quickly, simply because you have to know how to fall safely without injury in order to practice Aikido.

  • well, 1mwtjf, Try to attack an expert Aikido fighter. You'll find a choreographed bonebreaking dancing.

That somersaults that uke (who receives the technique) does are for avoiding pain an serious damage. In addition, in this vid the techniques aren't done at 100%.

If you attack an expert aikidoka, he performs a technique at 100% and you try to block/ignore it instead of throwing yourself on the floor correctly, be sure that you'll be seriously injured.

    underestimate Aikido is just stupid.

  • um, well, and never overestimate, thats plain dump. Look at the stupid angles of attack the uke uses etc. A Boxer will hit strait and would not slow down like them, one could not grab him this way, and stabs with a knife are fast, short and ugly. No hand to grab there too. So this would NOT work. But Aikido has its uses (you learn armloks etc.), but well, its not THAT effective. BTW: I've learned it and Jiu Jitzu for over 10 years

  • no offense: you have learnt it for 10 years, and you dont know what's a shomen uchi?

This hits are the essence of aikido, like yokomen. There are moves to face body/head punches (usually variations of munetsuki hits) and even high, mid and low kicks.

Anyway, aikido is a "noble" martial art. It was not made for competitions or professional fights, but a lifestyle.

  • No Offense taken: Ju Jutzu 10 Years, Aikido only 1 Year (tendo ryu). Should have statet that more clearly, my fault. And never liked to learn this japanese vocabulary. The Problem is: Don`t think the techniques work when facing a real fighter. Amateurs: Well, around 50% yes, Aikido will likelly work. But one with a little bit of sparring experience won't let his arm exposed that long, only with luck you'll grab him. But as a lifestyle it's very, very honourable, I highly agree!

  • Maybe you should tell that to the kid that tried to rob me today with a knife.

He is in a hospital now. o.o"

  • You are lucky then. But against amateurs mayhaps. Once I defended some stupid amateur wannabe who tried to stap me with a knife a Ju Jutzu technique, but I generally mistrust that japanese stuff. It's IMHO to ritualized to work effective. I like the phillipino styles (FMA), there's a higher chance of succes in using their techniques. And thats the point: IMHO in all this japanese stuff theres a to marginal chance of succes.

  • No, that is called a skill to amplify the Aikido techniques in really world.

  • Well, or plain luck, no, kidding. But as I said: A Ju Jutzu (modernized Jiu Jitzu in Germany) technique worked for me against a knife... but I now simply trust FMA more than the japanese stuff, it's more reality based in most cases. But yes, you could make Aikido work, after some 10 years... and good training. And meaning no offense, really! I honestly respect the Art. But it's not my way any more.

  • Great random find on the internet. Mucho respect.

  • How does all this translate into no gi mma?

  • mma has rules. too many of those moves would be considered illegal. Oh, and, in mma, they tell you which arts your opponent trained in.. weeks in advance. In real life, you don't know, and he doesn't know, so therefor, you get the element of surprise. The element of surprise is a powerful weapon.

  • the only problem with them telling you your opponents training...is most people arent incredibly honest with it...i know pleanty of ppl who just list as freestyle and have lots of martial arts training

  • Looks a little too rough... oh well.

  • what happens when someone goes for the takedown instead of a overhand stab punch?

  • You guide their arm closest to you away while performing a tenkan and from there its' entirely up to you - one Aikidoka locked up my arm as he moved and with the pivot swung me into the floor, another just used my head as his point of control and drove me into the mat.

It does take a fair bit of skill to be a good Aikidoka admittedly, but with a bit of practice Aikido really does become a "gentle art of destruction"

    Toodles

  • what a awsome dance, I want to see break dance too.

  • ovo je bolje od ruskog samboa, idemo braco srbi!!!!

  • hard

  • What did you do to Novi to make her sad?

  • LOL

  • yes you can but it doesnt look like this but it helps to know the techniks.

  • Their move looks great but can you apply this move on the street?

  • what type of aikidio is this? because i see orange belts there

  • Keep circle, same with Krav Maga.

  • thats not right like, they arnt human!!!!!!

  • my cousin is 1st dan in Aikido, and works for security in several discos (he's just 19!)

Let me tell you that I saw him many times throwing people out of the club by holding them at the wrist, with those d!ckheads looking like stupid dancers...

they not even have the time to throw any punch, since he is able to anticipate any movement..

and he is just first dan.

And let me tell you, many times I tried to hit him, in and with any part of the body.. never success!

  • shut up. How can you comment then if your cousin is a first dan.

  • what's wrong with this

  • Man im from the netherlands and i do aikido here but i did taekwondo first the first lesson i whasl ike aikido is BS aswell then my sensei said punch me anyway u like or kick me any way i like and trust me ull wont be on time and yea if u dont want to do self defence buy a gun lets see how long it takes if u get attackt to aim load ... trust me ull be on the ground in a second :D try punching a aikido master once u'll might get 1 hit by luck but after that ..

  • As for the "He's not resisting because his arm would break if he did." weak excuse. Obviously if you already have the throw set and in motion then Uke just has to go with it and breakfall... but there's THE SMALL MATTER OF GETTING UKE IN THE THROW IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! I train in Judo and the throws are the easy part... it's the Kuzushi (balance breaking) and tsukiri (fitting in) that are the tough part... and the real measure of skill. Show me Aikidoka throwing calm, measured opponents...

  • kuzushi is a huge part of aikido, maybe not as much as judo but its still huge

  • Aikido is just Sooooo unrealistic, you actually believe people are going to run at you with their arms flaying around like gypsy? If your fighting a COMPLETE moron, Aikido is an amazing art, someone with some skill however, games over

  • Maybe you fail to comprehend that what is seen here is not acutal combat, but excercises. It's for the purpose of learning that they flailing with their arms like "gypsies".

  • Aikido and all martial arts are not for attack, there are meant to be use in defense which is perfectly shown here.

  • Umm, yeah? So what? Whats it got to do with my comment?

  • This is like any other martial art, if you don't use it practically..it's useless. Even MMA, everyone is riding MMA cock right now but let me see you go down to the ground and put someone in an armbar when their boy is kicking your head in. Thinking that having a good ground game is gonna help you with multiple targets is as rediculous as thinking one dicipline is all you need. Aikido is the shit, when combined with some good striking, and practical thinking.

  • svaka cast momci

  • doesnt aikido show yu how to defend yourself from nives?? why does it suk "on da streets " i think it wuld be very useful

  • Ha not Aikido,, Ju-jutsu,, Aikido has no kicks, and the movement is pretty bad for being Akido. And the Music is really bad to.. Its like an arabian touch and that has nothing to do with Japanese martial art. the whole clip sux

  • Looks pretty much like mainline Iwama or ASU aikido to me. Put these guys and gals in hakama and they'd be welcome in my home dojo for sure.

Very nice "number ten" into a koshi throw at 2:40. You need to be good at your ukemi, certainly.

And I would NOT recommend f**king with these people on the street, for sure.

  • Trust me - this is about as REAL as it gets...

    ...in SERBIA at least.

(except when they blow your house up, eh Bosnians?)

  • wow. im surprised. most of these aikido videos i've seen are really bad and at no point to i ever think, "hmm...I could use that, have used that, or could see a fight going to that type of position. this is definitely the closest thing i've seen to a possible applicable form of aikido.

  • I wish somebody would post some videos with Aikido actually being used in some real fights (MMA, street anything). Very rarely do people run around in loopy circles or hold their fist out to be grabbed when trying to hurt you in real life.

  • I found this really funny watching the demo and was thinking about how dizzy they probably were. I'm not quite sure thay fast forwarded everything to make it look faster or if they were actually moving like that.

  • Very rarely are the people trying to hurt you in real life are top notch Mixed Martial Art fighters. So, when a guy comes running at you and striking you, it's pretty similar to the techniques practiced on this video. Of course, the Uke's flow w/ the move so they don't break an arm, also to drill a technique.

  • nobody runs at you with their arm out like that except a retard, most guys who attack people have done it lots of times and know exactly what works on the street

  • Ok, but people who live on the street are desperate. No? So, dodge and block a few attacks. Eventually, they'll get angry, and will thrust their body forth more. (Which works fine for aikido)

Lets say that doesn't happen, in fact, lets say the Aikidoka gets punched in the face (right fist), if they are still concious (sp?) then they would grab the wrist of the right arm w/ their right hand and proceed to do an armbar. Then they win. (Arm breaking)

  • try and catch a good strikers arm, perhaps in slow motion, but in the real world , your gettin head butted if u try n lock my arm down, unless you do a good throw to the pavement (judo)

  • Ok, stand up. Now punch mid air how you would in a fight.......k, did it yet?.......K, so, when you did it, you must notice that your arm doesn't spontaneously move out of nowhere, it uses a foot for planting the other arm for swinging back (depending on your style) and the rotation of the hips. So, after seeing that, it's more than possible to move to the side of where the punch will be. Then, at the side of your aggressor, you grab his elbow and wrist w/ both arms and slam it to the ground.

  • I like how the kicks miss.

It's the crucial part of the technique.

  • grab a partner, and dosey do...

  • 3:30 - 3:40. After defending off attacks, big dude threw up his lunch. One too many spins.

  • i train fake aikido

  • Great video, but the music sucks.

  • Interesting, but the video would be more honest if it weren't sped up. Nice use of utemi though.

  • Ok i understand u. he went trough a window?

  • every move in aikido i mean every submision can break ur wrist so....

  • Fully aware of that!, I am a black belt second dan in Aikido and i was replying to someone who said their is no attacking moves in Aikido, And also that idiot who said Judo can kick Aikido is wrong i floored a Judo expert in facted i used that rib smashing move and he went though a window after showing off his all for show kicks at me.

  • mildly unlikely as there are no kicks in judo! lmao

  • I think that aikido is more a defense material art, because the way of attacking seems to me(!) more like running through the opponent. I would like to hear what you say about this.

  • It is a defense martial art

  • the one thing you never do i underestemate you opponent cause if you do then you already lost

  • Their is one attack move in Aikido but they do not teach it outside of Japan, Might be because it can break ribs!.

  • eny submision on wrist in aikido can break it

  • aikido is really cool because you win a fight without attacks.with aikido you just protect your self.

  • unreal

  • 3:08 its hard^^

  • is not aikido, defence maybe but not is real, you dance a lot , the in¡ercy is like dance you dont have control, so the conbination of defence and inercy is a test

  • Comment removed

  • Aikido is many things and done for many reasons. Every one creates their "own" Aikido. Some like to dance, some like to be "spiritual, some like to be able to defend them selves. If you do the dance Aikido, don't expect to be able to defend yourself.

  • This isn't aikido...

    isn't the aikido of O-sensei...

  • I agree. This isn't aikido.

  • I want to learn Aikido to achieve inner peace and self defense and not to fight ...

  • are you gay or something?

  • couldn't have said it better myself :P...what kind of cockamamie bullshit is this...you learn a martial art so you can fuck up anyone that has a problem with you. Am I right or am I right :P

  • somewhat right.......cuz the fact is that there's always gonna be a better fighter than you, and the next guy in line.

  • there's not going to be a better fighter than you if you always push your limits and train until your body can't take it anymore

  • once again yes there is. Lets say ur a better fighter than me (mesasge me and i'll give you my details so we can compare) and u kick my ass, but we both push our selves to the limit. A week later u fight my best friend.....and he kicks UR ass, but you both pushed ur limits. Therefore, he's a better fighter.

  • I was only talking about mentality...if I beat you...there's no point in trying to best you even further. But if your friend kicks my ass than I'd make it my objective to defeat him the next time. So I don't know I'd train harder than I used to, harder than him...in order to beat him

  • ok...i see. Yes that is acceptable.....It can still be contradicted but none the less very very acceptable.

  • Comment removed

  • Is this self defence or so you think you can dance?

  • Comment removed

  • This doesn't look choreographed at all. It just looks like it depends on some bolting at you, out of control with their hand raised high above their head or fully extended like they are going to shake your hand. Very effective for that sort of thing.

  • 0:44 springs to mind... attack of the greeters
