I swear, TK was the only reason why I watched this anime. I loved Clannad, liked Kanon and Air, but this anime was really disappointing: there is never an explanation for why they’re fighting Tenshi, the characters aren't developed properly, the "tragic" stories of the characters were cliches, the ending is the only part I enjoyed a bit. This anime has only good looks, good music and TK.

@eddylugia There actually was an explanation to why they fought Kanade. They are fighting Kanade because she was causing students to dissapear (obliterate). Yurippe is unhappy with the powers that be and revolts (she does not want to get obliterated). So she starts the Battlefront to fight Kanade. So they can continue to be together in the purgatory. If you follow the subtleties and how it feeds into the end message it is quite a beautiful story of love and sacrifice.

It was still just above average. As long the comedy was running, that anime was really entertaining but as soon as the drama kicked in it got "meeeeeh".

@eddylugia yeah i agree there's a couple of holes that don't make sense but they yuri fought kanade because she was helping newcomers find happiness and disappear. because of yuri's past, she feels it is unjust to just move on and wants to stay so she forms a group with other people with similar situations to fight back. then she realizes kanade isn't an angel, she's a victim as well in her past life; she was just waiting to find otonashi and say thank you for giving her his heart.
