  • This is the first Final Fantasy VII marching show I have seen that included One-Winged Angel...and for that, I thank this band wholeheartedly xD

  • God, I loved being in that band....this video was of my Senior year's show.

  • Ah, I loved maching that show, we were so big, the Hut at the beginning makes me miss having that many people on the field, but I loved this years show too...

  • I'm willing to bet that this show sounded pretty amazing live. video cameras dull out so much in a show like that. but at least its there. and the drill was cool

  • JUST WAIT TILL U HERE HILLIARD BRADLEY PLAY THIS YEAR

  • @jely34 Wait till you see Davidson marching this year!

  • @HDMVB15 I HEARD THAT THEY WERE PRETTY GOOD THIS YEAR

  • @jely34 Our show is difficult anyway you look at it but we are getting it!!!

  • @HDMVB15 Davidson did really well at the invitational last saturday. :) Hey, do you know where I can buy a davidson shirt? I want to wear it to Darby spirit day. ;)

  • @InsanityandChocolate A Davidson band shirt? I think we already bought them and pasted them out. We just added our 4 to 5 in our show to so now our score is really high.

  • freakin 3rd segment was so fun to play... especially the bass solo.

  • Wow! Best marching band playing Final Fantasy I've seen so far.

  • 3:50 is Final Fantasy 8, not 7...

Still good, but I was hoping for the marching band theme from ff7 :(

  • @Lukeff7 I was in the band last year, can you tell me what the ff8 song is

  • @1Gabranth

03:36 and then on for a little bit.

    That is from FF8.

It's the standard battle theme, I think. 100% sure its ff8, not 7.

    :)

  • @Lukeff7 yes, it's the battle theme from FF8

  • @Lukeff7

lol i watched the video, you are completely right. fail on us for not being able to count

  • @1Gabranth

Lol don't worry, it's still bloody awesome.

    No fail here.

  • most of it is 7, 3rd segment is almost exclusively 7, and second is Aeris theme. First is a mix of 8.

  • thats my school's stadium we have 235 kids in out band

  • SO JEALOUS.

I wish we could do a video game themed show.

  • & how did I know that Aeris's theme would be the second movement? Lol

  • yea ya'll totally killed that

  • all i have to say is damn. whoever designed your set did a great job

  • WOW, I was like there

  • They marched well! Their lines were straight!

  • Ah! i remember when we were that big. The band is so small now. Only 145 rather than over 200. That was a fun year, last year. he he I see me!

  • lol, you say that's small, im in a flight 2 with under 80

  • That was awesome! We need more high school marching bands playing video game music! The only way to make that better is they should have have marched off the field playing the "Victory Fanfare"!

  • wow the snares were insanley good +P

  • how many are in your band?

  • There were 230 in the band for 2008. Another high school opened this coming year so we will lose students.

  • we got 130 in the band this year

  • To bad your size went down! Davidson hasn't changed much!

  • yeah, no worries, they'll still be better than you...no worries... :P

  • Haha yeah right.....good luck in class B!

  • yeah, we will be better. :P We have an awesome bunch of Freshmen this year.

  • like meeee! :D

    trumpets ftw.

  • and like me!! Yay Clairineties!

    (Becca, Kashi, Hanna, and Calie)

  • Umm we have like 40 freshmen this year that are gonna kick but at Hilliard Inva....look out darby...class b

  • my band has 60 clarinets all together this year and our band has 315 this year. we're not competition though

  • Holy shit, my band has like 65 people. There are only 5 people in my section (flutes).

  • ah ha! I found you on youtube Tim! at least, I think it's you. If it's not, there is some really messed up person out there. he he.

  • hell of a job guys I'm sure all of the trombones were in step lol panther pride hilliard wide

  • wow thats a huge band!

  • wewt for our band!!

  • thanks alot guys!!(:

  • wow!!! that is really awesome! I like how you guys even have music from final fantasy 8 (my first final fantasy game and favorite) but seriously you guys sound amazing starting from the beginning!!! This is by far the best final fantasy show i have seemed and is as good as anything i could ever imagine in my head(which i tend to do alot lol) but seriously you guys kick ass

  • wow very nice percussion

  • hey im from fairfield union's marching band and i was able to see you guys there. You guys did amazing. Congrats

  • o ok, im from illinois but hes my step bro

  • yea i know him

  • hey im from the louisville band and we didnt get a chance to watch u preform but u did a really good job. congrats on ur 1 at state!!

i can tell u guys worked hard. I look forward to seeing you guys next year

  • do any of ya guys know cameron L?

  • is this Ashley?

  • BOA, that kinda sucks...I was one of the field commadners for this years band, and I gotta tell you, they worked very hard to make this show what it is. Its probably not up to your guys' caliber, but then again marching band isn't taken as seriously as it is down there, I really wish it was. Another thing to take into consideration is that not everyone is this band wanted to be there, they are kinda obligated to participate, I know you guys are probably better, but please don't rain our parade

  • I just remembered if we played One Winged Angel, Schikle would have us do some really, really, complecated moves, and stuff..oh boy the horrors of marching band with schikle...

  • Man I would love to have the sheet music for tenor sax, in high school my band director would never of think of doing music from Final Fantasy VII, just because he wanted us to be orginal.

  • So Final Fantasy is not original? Yes, it has been done before by other bands, but it really beats sitting at competitions and listen to "Wicked" or "Beatles Medleys" over and over again. Not every band can afford to have a piece written just for them.

  • Same here, but on, I think my schools, second or first marching band compition, almost all the marching bands there did pirates in the carabinian.

  • Look at me go!! This is probably the best show I have ever performed!! It was so windy, I don't know how I could have tossed in it, but thankfully, the wind died down for our performance so I could do all those hard tosses. Go Colorguard!!!

  • I think Newark was the best percussion feature we did, it was so incredibly clean, I seriously thought only one tenor and one snare were playing...it was orgasmic!!! lol

  • Yeah Tim the snare feature was definately a lot cleaner there, and I dunno, Dave said this tenor feature sounded better, they both sounded like one tenor feature though

  • i meant sounded like one tenor

  • what about 1 bass -._

  • haha, you can't really have one bass...but that would be cool to have one person on 5 basses!!!lol

  • holy crap, the drumline is amazing. definatly better than my high school was while i was in. great show! wish my school had done FF

  • This was the best show of this we did, the Tenor Feature sounds as clean as a surgery instrument (before surgery of course), the bass feature was really good, and the snare feature was too

  • Sweet show. I've always thought that the FF games have some of the best scores I've ever heard. It translated pretty well to the field. What were the pieces played, Aeriths Theme, Battle Music, and Sephiroth's Theme?

  • I believe the first segment is the Battle Music/Bombing Mission, the second segment is Aerith's Theme, and the third segment is One Winged Angel. I really like the FF music, but I was hoping they would use FF X instead of VII. I really enjoyed the show this year. You should check out last year's show too. I think that was better - Channel One Suite by jazz drummer Buddy Rich. Thanks for the comment and the rating!

  • go darby

  • Hi everyone. Dowling catholic did Final fantasy from Iowa. Their drumline is also very good and competed against Hilliard at pasic 2007. Our Band is not as large and not as accomplished, But we try hard. Good luck to you in all your efforts and Dowlings Drumline will be at Pasic 2009. You tube Dowling Catholic Drumline for the "Eden Prairie" show. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the complements. I'll check out your videos! You should watch the show from 2007 - the band did Channel One Suite by jazz drummer Buddy Rich. I think that show is much more exciting! It is under my video listings. Thanks again!
