i know they are using the 7 strings on the new album, but then Muhammad also plans on using like a 27 fret 6 string guitar on it as well..im jsut saying that besides switching to 6 strings for their old songs live they just stay with the 7 strings

It is a beast guitar indeed, I have the regular Xiphos from when they first came out, amazing guitar and worth every penny!

I'm not saying using a 7 or 8 string is harder, but not too many bands make use of all the strings and only use them for the lower tone and all...also if you play technical guitar stuff, you'll know how tricky it could be to play with an extra string...also I beg to differ that they dont need to use a 7 string...their new song makes use of it and I'm sure that's what they might use for some of their new album...atheist and gorguts are great bands, but they cant touch these guys

From the tabs I saw by them, they were all on a 6 string tuned down to D standard. Also when I saw them previous times, they used 6 string guitars, I'm just guessing that they used the 7 string for this tour because of the new song they played and rather then switching guitars they just used the 7 strings instead. They possibly could have arranged some of their older songs for the 7 string by using the circle of 5ths theory on guitar for use of the 7th string.

Or maybe they just tuned the guitar to A (ADGCFAD) instead of B (BEADGBE) and didn't use the 7th string on the other songs, which would make a lot more sense.
