Well he jump started it in a sense. The idea was presented i think in 1845, but then in 1862 Lincoln signed into law the Pacific Railway Acts which got the whole thing moving. Obviously Lincoln died a few years later, but his policies and ideas lived on. President Garfield, McKinley, both shot and killed, but the US has been constantly on attack from the british since the inception of the republic. When FDR died though, it seems they nearly won with their central banking empire.
