@TheCjd112090 When you get "MASTER" on a Materia, it duplicates the Materia, allowing you to level another 4x-Cut. This can be done with any Materia you can level up. Also, Master Command bestows the 4x-Cut ability, I believe.

Why was he doing like 7000 damage to you with his minor attacks? That confused me! His Super Nova even did 9000 to Vincent! What the hell armor were you using? I clearly remembered him only doing at least 5000-7000 with super nova the first time I beat this, or is this a harder version of the game?

For optimal performance, have all your characters at level 98, and don't use knights of the round on jenova. For every person at level 99, Sephiroth gets and extra 20,000 HP, along with other boosts. If you use KotR on Jenova, he gets and extra 80,000 Hp, among other boosts. At a minimum, he has around 60,000 HP, and at a maximum, 400,000.

All of my characters were late 70's or 80's in there level. I'll have to look at it.

Then again, my strategy was to have Cloud's limit break maxed before entering the battle with Safer Sephiroth. Come in and hit him with Omnislash then a few base attacks from the support characters (Mine were Barret and Cid) and this fight was over.

@soniclover88888 don't get me wrong, i don't think it's a bad game, and i'm fully aware of what an impact it had. I just don't think that FF1 is actually better than the games that came to be because of it. it's good but not THAT good. Really, I don't think that we can say that the first game in any series is the best simply because it's the reason the sequels exist.

I mean, compare the original Mega Man to the 2nd and 3rd. Compare Metroid to Super Metroid. It doesn't work like that.

@CirqueDuFreak2000 I know such a thing, and I wasn't really done. I do like the PS1 version IMMENSELY better than NES, and the remakes of FF1 are really good. The PS1 version isn't as choppy as the NES original, and the classes and enemies are more balanced and slightly harder. II like how FF1 has a "Puzzle'' feel to it and the fetch quest make the game all the better. Now sure, a ton of people think that Games like FF6,FF7, and FF4 are all better, but in my view, FF1 is the best. Just saying...

a quick way to beat him is to equip one member 4x cut and counter materia and a herme shoes; then at the start of the battle, have some party members w-item 3 or 4 hero drinks to him, which should boost his attack to 9999 per hit, and you would be finishing him in no more than 3 turns.

I just beat this guy. I thought I was going to lose because my team (cloud, barret, and red XIII) were only lvl 65 and i forgot to give barret important materia, but i survived by the skin of my ass and beat him. best final boss ever.

It's funny I could always beat Safer at level 56 with a bit of a challenge and without using knights of the round, He,s easy to kill. Super nova can be a pain but it never killed me,

You just need ribbon and elemental earth in the armor slots and that,s about it
