@okami508 Link is left-handed, while the majority of the population is right-handed, so Instead of remodeling Link and retesting a billion things, they just mirrored the rendered image.
@kevinallen3 You can either press home on the wiimote and reset, or press the reset button on the console itself. Try looking up LogitechSDAZ 's videos on BiT, I hear the timing is different than on GCN.
for some reason i don't think this works becaus before he had no memory card then magicly he had a memory card, i think he just didn't get any of the heart containers through the temples.
I tried this glitch on the wii and it didnt work, but when i went and pressed a +b it showed a closeup of epona but not the normal one and it lasted for 1-2 seconds and then loaded the files. Why did it do that?
@PrestigeIncorporated The point in which you reset the game has to be frame perfect. If you're jumping off and starting back in the forest, you're either not resetting and have never even heard of the Back in Time Glitch, or resetting 3-4 seconds late.
Okay, this is officially the easiest BIT glitch yet. I managed to do this on my first try, whilst the Arbiter's Grounds method took me over an hour! All you have to do is press the reset button at the peak of your jump. The timing couldn't be any easier....
Although, I might've been just lucky.
Anyway, great video, mzxrules! You just gained a new subscriber! ;)
@Firetail42 It depends. If you press start after the title logo has appeared, you just go to the file select screen. If you press start just as you fall into a void, you load up the file select screen, but the next save you load will spawn in Kakariko Gorge, during the King Bublin 1 Fight with everything else normal (if the game doesn't crash).
@TheLink2003 Of course not. I think I did it this way to prove that I was starting a fresh game, and not having a memory card inserted made it easier to start new attempts
lol... its like your skipping very little part of the game... i keep wondering how we do that with the wii... do we use the reset button on the wii? or the one in the home button thingy on the wii mote?
@hawk99578 I believe it doesn't matter which reset you use. In a speedrun however, I believe pressing the reset button on the console would be faster.
@hawk99578 hit home just after you jump, but before you reach the peak of your jump, and click reset. The correct timing should be around there somewhere. Understand that it requires perfect timing, so you might have to play around with the timing a bit.
@mzxrules i did it but i had 2 do this thing were you jump attack and you press (up)on the d-pad but the sword has to be pointing right/ then hold (x) then start then (b). but when i end up on the bridgei fall down and quickly press (a) and when i go on my file it freezes :L btw im tryna do equipped.
@EmFanMAX doing the equipped back in time glitch is an entirely different ballgame. The game will crash if it doesn't like the spot in which you saved at in the game you load during BiT.
@mzxrules oh on the cd streaming to get to Eldon early when do you time opening the gamecube the second time u do it cuz when I do I can see the glitches part where it didn't load but then I open my gc wen it starts to load then it goes to plz shut cover and I doe it but then the glitch turns into a fence
@jared1016 the glitch name is a misnomer. The glitch was originally discovered in Arbiture's Grounds, which meant you could literally go back in the game's events and redo them.
For example in Wind Waker, Twilight Princess's original engine, where you can skip Tetra's gossip stone cutscene to later on in the game (where you get the bombs), you will get into the pirate ship with Niko and the platforms, and when you walk outta the pirate ship, you're at the pirate ship, outside Forsaken Fortress swordless. If you save and go to the moblins in Outset forest, they'll throw ya into the jail on Forsaken fortress, and you can walk to the top of FF and see Aryll again!!
And if you were paying any attention to this vid, you would have noticed that i just did the back in time glitch in the first 2 minutes of the game, without going to Arbiture's Grounds.
When do you reset exactly? Since the gamecube don't has the home button, I can't figure out when you press the button. And then I can't do it. Because of this find, this is the new speed run route and I wanna make one. So this is important for me.
What I find to be an incredibly accurate gauge of whether you fail or succed is if you watch the final few frames before the screen goes completely black from the reset. With that said, the console button release point is at just after Link's jump peaks, while the point you hold down on the soft reset (start + b + x) is a step or two before jumping off the bridge. I prefer the (start + b + x) method not because it's more accurate, but because it's more comfortable to do.
there's a very good chance this could work in a speedrun. In this vid it takes me about 1:30 to pull off this trick, but it could easily be improved by 10 seconds if i didn't walk down the bridge as far and don't pause the game for the START + B + X
This would save about 10-20 seconds on just the first and second day skip (since you don't need to do that trill stuff), plus the save warp to faron is right next to the horse reeds. But the biggest timesaver is
