was a worker on a garbage truck for about 8 years. Once the novelty had worn off it became drudgery and I hated it. It's one of the hardest jobs around.
I think what truebinman is refering to is that the guy pushed the rubbish in while the blade was coming down.
it seem's to me that serco havnt got verry gd staff if they would act like that with the old contracter they would of been givern an infringment notice or sacked may be mk made the rong choice all to gether getting rid of the old contracter.
Thanks for all your comments and i filmed at like 11 or 12 ish and yeah they were going to dump because they put the packer blade down to stop the rubbish flying out whhen there driveing....
Seems odd that they throw even he small bits of card in with the general waste. I can understand if it was a huge box {to save space in the recycling compartment as it's smaller}
Nice vid i could tell they were of to the landfill as notice the loader was manuly operating the carriage and sweep blade becuase the body was full .And also they stoped the blade half way in the hopper which is a sign to say they are full.what time did you film this
@robinsonm08 Think you're right about that blade, the body seems pretty jammed full! All depends on the type of housing on how quick it fills up, from the looks of this I'm guessing its just a normal estate... probably filmed about 10-15/ 10-30 in the morning if its the first load of the day
@wheeliechook yea .it was filmed at around 11 to 12 oclock this is one of my favouites now .so if they had started at like 6 am and kept packing to 12 then these machines must pack like thers no tomarow because this is onley a small size body is well .I would say about 7-8 tonne of refuse .

Nice footage! Still don't know why they throw the cardboard in the garbage.
