Sorry bitches but there will only be ONE sound factory. That was 530 West 27th street before its reincarnation as Twilo. And since when do straight people think they can party better than us gays.Bitch sit the fuck down! Gays taught yall everything you know about House Music and yall still cant do it better than us.BTW House Music started within the black, latino, and gay communities. So give the credit where the credit is due.
its a weird feeling to be in pacha knowing the parties that went on in that building as soundfactory,, pacha is just a childrens playground now what happend to going for the music?
@MrRoy126 Its all a result of economic decline in NYC. The drugs/pills are fucking garbage now. You're more likely to get piperazine than you are mdma. That shit will fuck up the rest of your weekend trust me. Also people just dont have money to throw like they used to. I've been to Pacha it was pathetic in every regard. The staff, the clubbers, the sound was mediocre. Factory was a fuckin free for all I remember dudes doing bumps in the open and smoking joints like noone was watching.
sick sick sick. chills. SF was truly happy & joyous as well as hauted & evil. JP was the man and worked us till we didnt know what to do with ourselves. it was awesome.
I was at soundfactory the first night he dropped this. Right after 9/11.. I thought the walls were going to cave in and the floor split in half with demons rising up from them. I remember humming this song for the entire week until I was able to go back and hear it again. Classics factory
@brklynrinaxxx it really was the most intense clubbing experience that was possible at the time. The economy was booming and everyone had loads of cash to throw around. Now look at the economy. Look at NYC. You can't deny we're in an ugly decline. Gotta appreciate everytime you go out as if its your last
@lilbromarky1 It's not about the economy. New York's best nightlife was back when the city was gritty and grimy. Back in the days of the REAL Sound Factory - on West 27th Street. After Guiliani became mayor, he made NYC boring and too strict. Money is actually what ruined the scene. The club life became everybody just trying to be cute and act like TV stars and models. Once upon a time, NYC had a REAL underground.
@MySugarWallz some truth to that but 27th SF was mainly queers bags, ugly crack heads and weirdos IMO... JP SF days @ 46th (around the same time as Tunnel, Roxy, Cheetah, Exit, Vinyl, China, Supper Club, Show, Sullivan Room, and Centro Fly were at their peek) are no comparison. from the music to the crowd. SF theme parties were INSANE- and so were all the fake TITTIES! HOLLA
@TheNyCsound Just so you know, gays owned ROXY! If it werent for our Saturday nights,Roxy probably would have closed down in 1992.Its a fact.ROXY belonged to gays. But once again, you knucklehead straights ruin everything you touched in the New York Club scene.Gays made it work and yall fucked it up!
Ficken 1 by Thomas Schumacher ...WTF is the name of that song that says "does that mean i'm gay "with the CRAZY dry bass (jp afterhour track)? no homo
you have no idea, i have been at clubs all over the world and nothing compares to it, i just watched the video and it gives the chills, most for sure i was there somewhere in the crowd.
I think I was one of the only bold ones to get up on the big swing that hung from the ceiling-I was almost literally thrown out by security, lol, for real!!!
I can't believe I found this. I don't think I missed a Saturday there in 1993. I used to live in Chelsie and I would set up my alarm at midnight to show up there at 2am. Man! that was 17 years ago! That place was unique, I don't think it can ever be recreated, it was an unbelievable experience.
OMG it takes me back to when junior Vasquez, would turn your world inside out and upside down , the truly iconic clubbing experience , nothing can touch this old sound factory nites, im so glad i was a part of something so special and unforgettable , move over world the sound factory, was the experience of a lifetime , i was lucky enuf to dj there with danny tenaglia when it was twilo, but it wasnt the same ....oh sweet memories.. siempe viva!
Factory was insane and on a theme it was even more rediculous . Wall to wall people going nuts hanging on every song pumping away in unison . There was a vibe that can't be recreated that was why it was so special and yeah i miss it sometimes but i have the memmories . I get goose bumps hearing these videos !!! neva like GTI tho it always broke my flow if i was dancing .
this video brings back crazy times..im 35 and used live at factory from 97-99 when i promoted SF..i watch pacha vids, and nothing will ever compare to SF...a place in time thats legendary!!! and most times i cant remember..for the good : P
Anyone notice this, on the "Live with jonathan Peters cd" red n blue ones, this is the same mix of tracks as that second cd, goin thru it, into garth brooks, into i wonder acca, hes recording that cd here =)
Let me correct myself-the Original Sound Factory on West 27th Street! The one when you got out of the taxi on 10th Avenue the prostitutes would greet you on your way down 27th, lol!!! Not sure about the others but the original was the one. I remember leaving around 12:30 pm when the clean up crew started sweeping the floors! Lol! Thankful they served $1waters and free fruit only because alcohol would have been a disaster!
So does this mean that the same thing that happened at the Miami Twilo will happen at this place? All that money thrown into it and it just goes to waste.
@arapian > It kinda pisses me off that they would even attempt to open a club and call it Sound Factory. As hard as someone may try...Sound Factory can never be recreated,
Too bad can't see much but it still brought back soo many memories and gave me the chills. It was like reliving the night. I will be posting some of my own videos soon.
Anyone have S.F. vol's 6-20 sumthin, holla. Will pay . Also newyorksdeepesthardesthousemixes vol's 6 20 whateva. Thanx!
