In case you guys hadnt worked it out, he was part of a series called Australia's greatest athlete where they pulled sportsman out of about 6 or 7 sports to compete against each other. So no they werent paid, he was just the best rugby player there

who wants to know why a sidestep works? well i'm going to tell you anyway. The Single Channel Hypotheses states that if a 2nd Stimulus is received after a reaction to a primary stimulus then it can't be acted on until the reaction to the primary stimulus has been completed. So the first step causes a reaction then the 2nd step can't be processed until the reaction to the first step has completed. The time between starting the the first action and the 2nd is the psychological refractory period.
