I think that you didn't put a background image.

In fact,you just crouched down and put the lightning effect to the highest limmit and .... what you get is an "teleport"

Adobe Premiere Elements is a good program and isn't super expensive.

btw, what format do the videos need to be to use in particle illusuon, my video i want to use is avi. but it wont work!

Make sure it's in regular AVI format and not (DV)AVI. PI can't use (DV)AVI.

Most never file conversion programs or video editing programs have that capability, actually.

One thing that you must have with particle illusion...lots and lots of patience, in order for things to come out looking correctly and to fit the sounds correctly via editing, not to mention file conversions and such. It takes a while but as you can see, it comes out rather nicely.

If you're not concerned with blockers and have a different application for layering, you can actually get particleillusion se, which is only 99 bucks compared to 400. It's a good deal. By the way, i dig the stop motion stuff. pretty cool.
