  • This was great to see. Does anyone have any video of the JCS show the following year?

  • My name is Keith Hays. Jim Monk and I were drum majors that year. I played a harmonica solo in the drum break. Thanks for posting this video...great memories!

  • Tnank you for posting these videos. It was lots of fun to show my kids and let them pick me out as we could!!!

  • Save for the horn solo, this was pretty good!

  • Watching this brings back a flood of memories...

And to think, those that marched this didn't like this particular show all that much.

  • Sheet music?

  • Sheet music? All handwritten. That would be kudos to John Carnahan and his staff.

  • Sorry, john left years before this... his lastr years was the 87-88 school year, my first year there

  • @frednich9603 He was hired to score the music for Bobby Francis. I was all handwritten!

  • Thanks for all the comments! My brother was in the band, not me. Hahn-Clarinet...

  • Who posted this?? I marched this show way back then..played trumpet! Wow! Never thought I would see this again. Who IS this??

Jason V Trumpet 88-92 UTA KKY

  • Hey Jason!

This is awesome! I've got to show my wife this..... Even with Brian B's cracked horn solo!

    Mark C. Baritone 90-92 KKY

  • I posted it - my brother was in the band - you can hear my sad ass pubescent screeches in the background... I have a ton of the UTA band including some symphonic stuff like "The Bombing of Dresden".

  • Hey, they just started up a new Facebook for UTA band alums and they're just CLAMORING for any vids that may be out there..you could be their/our new best friend. Let us know what you may have and what years. Buckvich Symphony #1 (Dresden) is a very moving piece..played it in high school. Nothing like the "crying flute" at the end.

  • Wow! I got to hear that performance at UTA...very awesome!

  • Heh, that's because UTA doesn't do halftime shows. They only play at Marching Band competitions. No football team, so plenty of time to focus on a great show. :)

  • Whoever coordinated this half time show has a refined sense of taste.

  • Yes!

  • Holy cow, that's awesome. James Horner is fantastic!
