I heard this song by chance on an Internet radio station a few days ago, and I was sure I'd heard it before but I couldn't remember where. I was desperately looking for the title on search engines; armed with the sole knowledge that Morricone was the composer.

And lo and behold, I was brought back to where I first heard it. This song is, by a long stretch, one of the most moving pieces I've heard in my lifetime.
