  • ok i see the cutlass design you were getting at but after seeing the end product i thought of an elven knife from lotr

  • looking good,nice work -- Thanks

  • Nicely done

  • not bad for a couple of hours work indeed! thats a great looking knife..the grinding took you a little longer didn´t it?

  • great work

  • do you think knives made out of car leaf springs would be ok? you were using bandsaw meatal there

  • Again I am amazed! That's a great example of a full tang knife.

  • will it blend?

  • Outstanding video.

  • When i first started watching this i thought it was gonna be a two sided knife.

  • how is that about edge holding?. Is it tough enough to be used like in a real way?

  • THAT IS SOOO COOL AND I THOUGHT MY HOMADE KNIFE WAS AWSOME

  • Good work! The knife seems to be strong and look nice too. It would be nice if I knew what kind of steel and could be tempering/hardened again. Congratulations!

Um bom trabalho! A faca parece ser forte e está bonita também. Seria bom se soubesse qual é o tipo de aço e se poderia ser temperado novamente. Parabéns!

  • looks nice

  • Who Stepped on my bacon?

  • horrible

  • why don't you anneal the steel first and then re harden and heat treat it? it makes a much nicer and more durable knife in the long run

  • You are the only person I will go to to learn to make knives out of saw blades =)

  • 2:00 lol

  • make me one

  • thats some nice work. very handy

  • I really like the brass. Great job.

  • I have a good tip if you need to drill into hardened steel and don't have good drill bits .Take your grinder and lightly grind an x into the steel right where the hole has to go . Grind it almost , but not all the way threw the steel . then you drill down threw the center of the x .You will be drilling into alot thinner metal and it will shoot right threw there.

  • I'm trying to think of where I can get pieces of brass like that from, anyone have ideas?

Sometimes these things are on everyday scrap items but I can't think of any.

  • thanks for the red oak from home depot tip. i've been wondering where I'd buy my wood from.

  • I STEPPED ON YOUR BACON

  • Pretty sweet! I would love to make something like that someday if I get the proper tools and room.

  • That is a beaut mate..nice job

  • i subscribed becuase of this vid and also i didnt realize till the end but i bought a knife that looks just like that though oddly enough i think yours is better quality ....... plz plz plz make lots more

  • i bet you could make a sword doing the almost exact sane thing :D

  • I like this knife of yours. Can I buy it? If 'Yes', I wanna know your price. I'm from Poland, from beyond the Atlantic ocean :)

  • sell it to me?

  • damn thats bad ass

  • cool knife, I just have three questions, would any type of saw blade work? I ask this because i have an old table saw in my basement that dousn't run any more and i was just wondering if that saw blade would work and do you know of a way to stain the blade black? and I have a grinder, but not the tool that you used, so could i just cut out a blank with a hack saw and then grind it down to the right size? please respond.

  • ur soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo smart. im really serious

  • That's one wicked blade! Hopefully I will finish one of mine soon.

  • 2:06 Thats what she said

  • correction. 2:02

  • this is so cool! how did u come up with the "Who stepped on my bacon" thing? and could u please make more knife making videos? thanks and i subscribed

  • great!

  • What is the specific name of the saw you used to cut the pegs for the brass fittings?

  • hey man its me agin!! and i like this vid alot better than tha other one!! lol naw jk im jus here to say that i like tha knife!!!

  • Great video!! That's gonna be a new summer project for me. I'm gonna make a couple knives.

Also, I found the guy who stepped on your bacon!

  • Do you Temper the steal or any thing when you work on it or do you just cut it and then put the handle on?

  • dont you harden your knives?

  • Good question. The knife I made in this video was made from a sawmill bandsaw blade, which is already hardened. If you heat it up too much while grinding it will take away from the hardness.

  • @JammerJawz thanks im gonna try this but with a different shape and maybe ill temper the blade.

  • @JammerJawz so any sawblade will be perfect for knives?

  • @JammerJawz So you could anneal it to make working the knife easier then reharden and temper it correct? Not sayin you should have done that but you could have rite? Im new to this and trying to decide if i should leave files i use hardened or anneal them first.

  • @JammerJawz Do you still make these? if so, where can i buy one?

  • good knife well done you have a nack for this type of thing

  • wow looks really good

it looks almost exactly like this knife i found in an online store only it cost $35 and then the shiping and handling this is alot cheaper

  • thank you so much for uploading this video....more power!

  • sweet thanx 4 the help now i know how to make a real knife instead of those ones that snap in half wen u make n use them

  • Awesome man!:D

  • Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video.

  • Do you actually sell these knifes?(I don't mean for me to buy one, because I'm Dutch and that would be way too much troubleXD) If you do what do you sell them for and everything? And have you got some pictures of the more "Professional" knifes you made, mr Darth Maul?:P

  • I have sold a few but have given away more than I have sold! I dont have as much patience to make really fancy knives so much anymore. I will try to make a video soon with a really nice one, and also how to make a sheath.

  • Cool, can't wait:)

  • @JammerJawz You know, with all the conspiracy theories going around this just may be very useful. In the end, most of us people lost the true professional knowledge to survive.

(incase those theories turn out to be true and the govenment will show its true dictator face)

  • @JammerJawz by the way, awesome videos you got there in your channel

  • sick lol ily

  • nice job :)

  • Thanks for viewing everyone. I know these knives are not the fanciest knives in the world but I just wanted to show how simple knifemaking can be and you don't have to have a bunch of expensive equipment to make a cool knife. Subscibe if you enjoyed the video and check out my other vids!

  • you my friend have some talent

  • plant some trees save the world..

  • outstanding piece of art

  • damn awsome

  • I don't have a grinder, what should I use instead?

  • you could use hand files but that will take you forever.. a cheap grinder can be found as low as $30 maybe cheaper.

  • Thanks dude. Just goes to show that you dont have to have alot of fancy equipment to make a knife. Have fun and dont be afraid to be creative with your blade designs!

  • can you make a video on how to make length wise holes in the blade and how ot make like those things that stops your hand from reaching the blade?
