Good work! The knife seems to be strong and look nice too. It would be nice if I knew what kind of steel and could be tempering/hardened again. Congratulations!
Um bom trabalho! A faca parece ser forte e está bonita também. Seria bom se soubesse qual é o tipo de aço e se poderia ser temperado novamente. Parabéns!
I have a good tip if you need to drill into hardened steel and don't have good drill bits .Take your grinder and lightly grind an x into the steel right where the hole has to go . Grind it almost , but not all the way threw the steel . then you drill down threw the center of the x .You will be drilling into alot thinner metal and it will shoot right threw there.
i subscribed becuase of this vid and also i didnt realize till the end but i bought a knife that looks just like that though oddly enough i think yours is better quality ....... plz plz plz make lots more
cool knife, I just have three questions, would any type of saw blade work? I ask this because i have an old table saw in my basement that dousn't run any more and i was just wondering if that saw blade would work and do you know of a way to stain the blade black? and I have a grinder, but not the tool that you used, so could i just cut out a blank with a hack saw and then grind it down to the right size? please respond.
ur soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo smart. im really serious
this is so cool! how did u come up with the "Who stepped on my bacon" thing? and could u please make more knife making videos? thanks and i subscribed
Good question. The knife I made in this video was made from a sawmill bandsaw blade, which is already hardened. If you heat it up too much while grinding it will take away from the hardness.
@JammerJawz So you could anneal it to make working the knife easier then reharden and temper it correct? Not sayin you should have done that but you could have rite? Im new to this and trying to decide if i should leave files i use hardened or anneal them first.
Do you actually sell these knifes?(I don't mean for me to buy one, because I'm Dutch and that would be way too much troubleXD) If you do what do you sell them for and everything? And have you got some pictures of the more "Professional" knifes you made, mr Darth Maul?:P
I have sold a few but have given away more than I have sold! I dont have as much patience to make really fancy knives so much anymore. I will try to make a video soon with a really nice one, and also how to make a sheath.
@JammerJawz You know, with all the conspiracy theories going around this just may be very useful. In the end, most of us people lost the true professional knowledge to survive.
(incase those theories turn out to be true and the govenment will show its true dictator face)
Thanks for viewing everyone. I know these knives are not the fanciest knives in the world but I just wanted to show how simple knifemaking can be and you don't have to have a bunch of expensive equipment to make a cool knife. Subscibe if you enjoyed the video and check out my other vids!
Thanks dude. Just goes to show that you dont have to have alot of fancy equipment to make a knife. Have fun and dont be afraid to be creative with your blade designs!
ok i see the cutlass design you were getting at but after seeing the end product i thought of an elven knife from lotr

I'm trying to think of where I can get pieces of brass like that from, anyone have ideas?
Sometimes these things are on everyday scrap items but I can't think of any.
