If Notch allows a dispenser-like block that can place blocks instead of dropping them in item form, (which he totally should, by the way) then it would be possible to make a pixel/voxel matrix of arbitrary size with arbitrary dimensions using the "self-building wall" method. And the color depth could be equal to the number of blocks in Minecraft because you could have a dispenser for each of them!

It would be almost inconceivably complex but it would be possible and I bet someone would do it!

now this might be confusing but ive seen people that have built way more complicated things in minecraft.

using the 2nd contraption you showed us, what ever block is showing would tell you what block you want to come out of a vending machine.

idk how you would build it, but if some1 does, i kinda want a little creddit.

@xZHTFrAnTiC Built and working great. Blocks that are dispensed are replace with cobble. So once you get cobble every time then its time to refill :) If there was a mod that replaced certain blocks that are deleted then this would work even better. I just need to get a video of it but my frame rate drops below 10 when I try record. I'll sort something out tonight.
