There are better Stephin, but for most others this would be brilliant. Somehow none of the versions I've heard of this song quite work as well as when I talk /sing/ my way through it when I end up thinking this is a perfect song. Lyrics as ever are so memorable and I always love it when the "negativity" of the words is peaks and contrasts to the beauty of the music. Not my favourite country singer, but I think a Johnny Cash version would be interesting.

This and 100,000 fireflies are their best songs IMHO. 69 love songs was a great album, with a lot of great songs, but it just didn't have anything that shone quite that bright.
