  • It's a barred owl. We have tons of them here in the swamps of south Louisiana.

  • its wing span when it flew away was approx. 5 ft. wide. we have a built in pool and it shadowed the whole pool. what a gorgious beautiful creature. but they will eat other birds and even our squirrels. so i am chasing it away . thanks again and enjoyed your video so much!

  • i myself have owls in my backyard who even come up to me as i film them. they know me, but still stay their distance. ( they are screech owls and i have a video of it on my youtube account that u can go see.)have gotten about 2 ft. from me but still are leary. anyway this owl was being screamed at by the blue jays and mockingbirds. didn't faze this owl a bit. then came on here to research and i saw your video, thank u was very helpful in me finding what type of owl this was.

  • I am so glad u have this on here. today the same exact thing happened to me. i was inside and walked out to the patio and heard birds squaking and screaming , a bunch of them. so iwalked over to where they were and there it was . this exact same owl. it was the biggest owl i have ever seen. i

  • the owl is prolly a shapeshifter

  • It is a barred owl. Not uncommon for owls to be mobbed by smaller birds, especially corvidae. I've seen crows do it for upwards of an hour, following an owl all around the forest relentlessly.

Bummer for an owl trying to get some sleep but a lucky encounter for you!

  • Owls are awesome

  • its a shame for owls ..they always get mobbed by other birds..what a beautiful owl.

  • really? I thought owls could kill eagles?

  • nahh u watch too many movies.

  • wtf does movies have to do with owls? they can, and do kill eagles... do some research.

  • yes it can happen, but this has nothing to do with it. Big predatory birds always get mobbed by smaller birds, especially owls, since they're so drowsy during the day.

  • That is a Barred Owl! Not the biggest of owls, but still, he's pretty hefty.

  • pinche joto

  • great video
