I called the number and asked for Alana Conway. The person on the phone said that she is no longer a contestant on the show and that it happened in 2010. I said " I don't care bring her back and count my vote " . X D
Wow... it wasn't overdone or screaming "look at me, I'm talented"... it was just perfect. (Incidentally, I'd agree with the third judge... I'm not crazy about that specific song either, but it's the best version I've heard)
Was so lucky to catch this the night it aired, I fell in love with this angelic performance. I watched in awe as I listened to a song heard a million times, but her performance made me hear this song for the 1st time, my eyes welled with tears to hear emotion personified in a vocal performance. She was just so believable, sincere in her performance. Alana's unique variances in her vocals made the song hers. Where is her original song "Tennessee Waltz", I missed that, would love to see it !
Or perhaps they just want to let her have a career out of it, if i'm not mistaken the winners of this show are bound by contract that they aren't allowed to sign record deals..
Alana, your performance was exquisite today (3 Oct 2010) at the benefit concert at St Patrick's Cathdedral. You sang even better than in these youtubes. Thank you so much. All the best!
This exquisite angel sang at my wedding in November last year. With every word she sings and every note she plays on that harp I cry with gorgeousness.
this was just a setup that she didn't go through the final, the judges just want to increase the interest of the show by letting a father and a son compete against each other... i switched channel when the father and son were performing...
Alana has to be the unluckiest person to miss the grand final. Was in the most competitive semi-final and was clearly better than Taylor & Cameron H. Her voice was unbelievable, as good, if not better than anyone in competition and she played the harp as well. The performance was just heavenly and flawless. Just divine! The harp, choice of angels through time. By the way, my favourite music is heavy rock and I still think this was one of the best performances I have ever seen.
That last note is just heavenly! From when she opened her mouth and started singing, was just so soft, angelic, mesmerizing, it just takes your breath away. The talent is unreal in this competition, but not too put through someone with a voice like that is just a crying shame...You close your eyes and listen and she just takes you to a beautiful place. You're gorgeous Alana! I could listen to that over and over and over again!
16 year old Siobhan Owen (also a singer/harpist) was approached by twice by an agency asking her to audition for AGT. They offered her a guaranteed audition with the judges and producers, plus a meeting with a 'story editor'. She didn't want to go on the show so turned them down. But it's great to see they got another harpist on the show after all! Good luck! Beautiful singing and playing!

Wow she is wonderfully talented. What a terrific voice, she reminds me of Olivia Newton John as in her voice and her nature. Even my husband was impressed and agreed re Olivia! We voted for her and I hope she wins. We will buy her music absolutely...go Alana!!
