  • this organ was playing in Manchester city centre today outside one of the art galleries. Shame about the weather.

  • this robot organ just needs a saxophone

player then it would had been a complete

    robot band.

  • we didn't want to make an exact copy of a Decap Antwerp Robot organ, so had an organ player instead.

  • is it useing roland ore some kind of other midi device to play the music?.

  • It was playing the midi files via a lap top computer.

  • so its the midi sound card in the computer that makes all the music?,

i gues it woukd sound diffrent if it

was with sound blaster 16 & pro,

    and gravis ultra sound.

  • There is a Roland sound canvas SC55 in the organ, the computer is just the midi player, nothing more.

  • I can remember seeing a Decap Robot organ at Ashone Hall in the main hall with Compton organ and the other Decap and also the Mortier was.

    Ben

  • My, I had no idea Albert Decap had also constructed robot organs?

  • Albert Decap didn't make robot organs. This organ was built by Norman Kendall from the remains of an Albert Decap organ. The midi system was fitted recently as the original electronics had failed. The system and music was devised by myself.

  • Ah, thanks for the information, Stephen! Really impressive, I must add!

  • Now this is something; quite a spectacular device.

Thank you very much for sharing this with us.

  • Glad you enjoyed it.
