  • she probabaly doesnt have much of a free will. bad parenting or child abuse?

  • this is called Traumerai. hope i spelled it correctly.

  • @brotou almost: Träumerei :D in english "musing" or better "reverie"

  • 'Traumerei' means "the daydream of a child" .

  • wow, how she get the nones? im 22 and i can only get an octave

  • Amazing!

  • very good

  • lol graceoverall its true i suck at piano and i can play this...im 15

  • Captivating.

  • Uber cuteness!!^^

  • This girl is really amazing. At the moment, i am learning this music... it's difficult!!

    Congratulations!!!!!!!

  • 好極! 加油!

  • Rachel, cada dia me sorprendes con tu hermoso talento, te felicito.

  • this piece is longer than traumerei!!

  • can u guys just stop argue we just want to come & enjoy to listen music all we want to come to youtube is peace not argue thxs

  • how old is that kid! she's amazing!

this is a grade 7 piece!

  • how cute!!! :)

  • no, Reverie was not composed by debussy xD

Schumann is right and the original title is "Träumerei" from the book "Kinderszenen". I play this song and I am sure of the title and the composer. Besides I made a presentation about Schumann and the "Kinderszenen".

Debussy does not sound like this ^^

  • ohhhh i like this!

  • This is by Schumann. I think its correct German title is 'Traumerei', which I believe translates as 'daydreaming' , though possibly 'reverie' has more or less the same meaning. But nicely played by Rachel and whatever it means she's a very talented pianist. A slight reservation having heard several of her performances on YT is that there is not a lot of variation in her dynamics. That will come in time I think.

  • That's right. Reverie shares the same meaning, and if graceoverall listened, (s)he would surely realise that this is a completely different piece to the one composed by Debussy.

  • Shumann composed this piece during his wife Clara was get away with Brahms.

  • Lol, no, this is definitely Schumann. Debussy's Reverie is quite different.

  • I apologize... clearly I was mistaken as I didn't know that Schumann had also composed a version. However, if it was his work I would have thought it title in German and not French. Anyhow, I apologize to anyone who may have taken offense at my comment. I was just trying to make an observation. Sorry.

  • Are you KIDDING ME!! What's all the fuss? It would not take much for anyone for the slightest amount of musical talent to learn that song. To think that she couldn't see the light of day from all her "HOURS" of practice is nonsense. It's a beautiful song, but the skill level necessary to play it isn't that high.

  • That's not true at all.

  • The arpeggio at 2:08, Horowitz plays in one huge chord. I want to know what notes his chord is...

  • true. amazing (the kid, i mean)

  • yep I hope you're sorry, because your comment is so stupid... I know that you don't wanna hurt her, but maybe it is that she has talent (pretty sure about that) and doesn't have to work as hard as normal people... her family looks pretty rich to me for one of Taiwan, and maybe it's harder to get friends if they are jealous of you... there are many possibilities, but I don't think she doesn't do anything but play piano the whole day..

  • Man ! please, when you control one science you have a power to cross life, and express yourself, your feeling and your emotions. "La vie n'est pas un long fleuve tranquille" (Life is not a quite river). So many kids and people have a real hard life in this world, studdy music, even hardly, still a privilege.

Little girl, you play it very well, This piece is not so easy as some people guess !

Sorry for my english, I'm french (that's why my english is so poor ! LOL)

  • hehe i don't get it....or maybe it's a little more complicated but yeah your right, the girl is amazing....im in phil

  • Not that it's my business, but the OP should consider shooting only from the back, with the child silhouetting the piano. Putting videos on Youtube makes it public domain, and unfortunately the little ones don't really have a say on whether or not they are broadcast across the world.

Considering there are some crazy, messed up people out there, I would think twice before allowing strangers to access and possess their own video clip of my 9 year old child.

  • to nowaygilbert:

well, not all. i play piano because it has been my dream to play it.

  • Lol same here, I sometimes wish I wasn't asian -.- My parents don't even care about piano or music. They say I must concentrate on "bigger and better things" as if music is not at all important.

  • @freakforfish I know you said this a year ago, but I'm thinking "Seriously???" Where I live, if you're Asian, you have to be a child prodigy like an Asian Mozart! Even myself! I'm not a prodigy exactly, but my parents wish I were! I'm decent I guess... haha. My other friends are truly impressive though at violin, piano, cello, etc.

  • nice!

  • aww shes soo gd and she looks so young!

    well done!

  • Excellent piece, I found free sheet music for it on SheetMusicFox DOT com and absolutely love it!

  • She's 9 years old. (well...i read it)

  • amazing

  • Oh yea, she's got friends alright. Any true musician can see her best friend in the video. When you're in that zone, that's the only friend you need. Although, I'm sure she has many friends otherwise. If not, they'll regret it later! LOL!!!

She's just awesome. What an accomplishment!

Keep up that ebony and ivory twang!

  • Unbelievable for such a young lady! Quite an interpretation...very moving!

  • She is an excellent pianist.
